By Vitamint~☆

Introduction
Does the scenario below happen to you?

It's time to expand the city! More employees mean more money, and more money means you can build another 40-submodule Corporation HQ! Out comes the road and the houses and suddenly you are faced with a dilemma: apparently these employees don't work without information...or security...or mobility...or apparently "sports".

Building the houses was simple enough, some 2-wide blocks of housing will do just fine, with a few roads cutting through for aesthetics and function.

Unfortunately, now they're screaming for services because they don't want to travel into the actual city and you weren't particularly bothered to plan them out ahead of time. (Cuz most will agree pre-planning is kind of a pain!)

Time to roll out the building-teleporter and wedge in some oddly sized service buildings.
Infodrome (7x7)
Sometimes neuroimplants and androids just don't cut it.

1. Find a spot in your housing block where a road runs along the short edge. (Alternatively, you can try moving half of your housing block sideways by 1 tile to create a 7-tile-wide section in the middle. See bottom of guide)

2. Remove the two houses along the road and the road section itself

3. Build the infodrome in the section, along with 2 small houses, and whatever decoration you want in the remaining sections. Aesthetics make for an organic city! (This is an example)
Security Department (8x9)

1. For the security department, you can use any 2x2 housing block measuring 12x12 tiles.

2. Cut out the 2x2 housing block.

3. Build the security department such that the shorter edge (8 tile edge) is touching the road. Fill in with small houses as shown with road to service inside houses. (and security chief parking spot and an infokiosk for citizens)
Metro Station (10x19)
1. For the Metro Station, select a 2x4 section of your housing block that is perpendicular to the housing strip it is on.

2. Cut out the 2x4 housing, including the road that ran down the middle of it.

3. Place the metro station inside the block directly in the middle of it. Build small houses to fill out the edges and roads to service the station from both sides. You can also put the station on the side and fit 2 large housing blocks on the other side.

4. If you like aesthetics, you can offset the station to one side and have a 2-tile-wide section for decorations. This example also shows the 2 large housing blocks solution.
Stadium (17x17)
1. For the stadium, select a 3x4 section of housing perpendicular to the housing strip. The 4-housing-wide section should run along a road (to look nice)

2. Cut out the 3x4 section of housing and the road that ran between them

3. Place the stadium in the middle, touching the road and run small housing and a road along each side, connecting to the original road in the middle at the back.
I just need 1 more supply of a service
The further a house is from a service building, the bigger the strain on the supply. If you are short on 1 or 2 supply of a service, try moving high-level housing closer to the service building and lower-level housing (if they don't also need the service) away from the service building. This is most useful for the stadium.
Infodrome alternative
* The 1st solution requires cutting out a section of road, which might be a bad idea if you have extremely long housing strips because it increases the distance services and logistics have to travel.

Instead of cutting out the road, you can shift the housing block by 1 tile to create the extra tile you need.

1. Identify where the prime location for your new infodrome will be.

2. Shift the rest of the housing block down by one tile.

3. Build your infodrome in the new location.

It's seriously awesome and has been a huge help for me! Can I translate this post and share it to Baidu Tieba (a kind of Chinese version of reddit)? Of course, I'll give you full credit and include a link to your original article. Your work deserves to be seen by more people!

As an alternative, build 19x19 housing blocks. (21x21 if you want to count the surrounding roads.) These can fit 9 housing complexes comfortably and you can then replace some of those as needed to fit service buildings and a few small 3x3 houses as filler. And if you get some single tiles left over, plant some trees or small parks or parking lots.

One day, Prime numbers looks beautiful for me in math.
But in Anno game, Most of infrastructure buildings have
prime number sized, and are hard to combo with other buildings.
(Length of ... 7, 11, 13, 17,19,23).

Now, i read your guide, you makes me to love Prime numbers again.:steamhappy:
