Playing in Redux version, you don't need to repeat the game. To get the Sniper achievement, just play along, get the grenade like in the video, then throw it from the stone bridge, the elevator is not up hill, so you have to play the rest of the game normally. Only at the end after complete the "Murder at the Dam" you will have access to the machine building, there you turn off the machine, exit from the open door, follow the path to reach the river, there you will see the corpse of the sniper, inspect it, and voilá. Bonus: another achievement easy to forget is "The Tunnel", when you start the game, you are the entrance of a train tunnel, just turn around, enter this tunnel through the end and thats it.

I couldn't make the grenade detonate, there was no explosion when I threw it into the water. I found it by accident and threw it into the water because I came across the line that tells you to do so on the pathway on top of the dam.

But like =Axton=, I found the building - at the bottom after the downwards elevator ride - closed, and there was no dead diver lying by the waterline either. And since I hadn't found your guide, I wasn't aware that there is a secret weapon to be found in the game, so I never returned to the location.

- Maybe I can still make it and return to the place. I'm in the mine at the moment (you know, the one with the annoying 'monster' who attacks and kills you if he spots you. lol). Perhaps, when I emerge from the tunnels I can try and backtrack to see if the rifle is still there.

I got stuck trying to throw the grenade. I didn't know that you have to aim until the "throw" text turns yellow to allow you to throw. I wasted a lot of time not knowing this.
