dm_backwash is a medium sized map made for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. The map takes place at an abandoned dam which is in front of a broken off river that helped power a small town in the 1960's.

Due to the dam not supplying a sufficient amount of power it was deemed obsolete, the people decided to use a better and more modern method to power their town. The area was left to fall apart and years later the nature surrounding it is starting to claim the facility back.

The map is superbly detailed and comes with realistic sound effects. There is a large amount of props for the players to use during combat. Weapons and ammunition can be found scattered around the place and even bonuses are put in certain hidden spots to give players a small advantage over the others.

The map is great for Machinima's or Garry's Mod videos alike.

- Since the map contains a lot of props it may cause some slowdown for anyone still using an older machine. One way to fix this it to use the remover tool and delete the props in order to keep the map at a smooth framerate.

- The map is internally referred to as "dm_backwash" for those who want to operate by console and it can be found in the "Half-Life 2: Deathmatch" section of the map select screen.
