What is that for?
So you won't have to open your browser to look at some online guide and scroll through the pages.
Also, I'm offering you some advice on how to upgrade all your equipment very quickly from the very start of the game, scroll down and check it out, you might find it very useful, especially steps  7 and 10. ;)

How to use the table:
On the right you see different bags, pouches and belts, each one has 3 upgrade levels.
For example, you want to know what you need to upgrade your loot bag to level 1.
Choose this row from the table and go right until you see a number, then go up to see what animal you need to hunt. So you need 3 sambar skins. And so on - for loot bag level 2 you need 3 pig skins and for level 3 - 4 fish skins.
(Right below each animal name you can see the total number of its skins you will need for all upgrades. It is also very easy to know for which upgrades the skins of each animal are needed - you just go the opposite way - down, then left.)

Last upgrades (level 4) are described in the last orange column - name of the rare animal and type of a weapon you must use (to give you an opportunity to pick your favorite personally customized weapon of this category instead of the basic one on site); name of the outpost where this fashion week quest is located and its coordinates on the map.
How to upgrade all your equipment REALLY quickly:

There is a very quick way to obtain all predators' skins and upgrade almost all of your bags to level 3 before even starting the campaign.

The secret is to find a spot on the map which is not associated with any particular predator. When you throw bait at such a spot, a random predator will spawn, so if you do it enough times you'll eventually get all predators that exist in the game (except honey badger), even the snow leopard in Southern Kyrat.

Here's a short plan of very fast upgrade:

[!] If you just want to know how to quickly and easily get show leopards (or any other predators) in Southern Kyrat, go directly to step  7 (check out step 10 as well, you might find it very useful ;).
1. Prologue (bharals):
During the prologue, if you collect all the money that's lying around, loot all chests and enemy soldiers, you will have more than enough money to buy a recurve bow (60,000 Kr) right after you get to the Banapur village.

There will be 1 sambar corpse and couple of bharal corpses lying on the ground when you approach the poachers' village (you can spot the corpses by vultures sitting on them and "x" markers on your mini-map). 2 bharal skins will allow you to upgrade your wallet to level 1.
Also, after the poachers' village there will be a herd of bharals wondering around a small basin surrounded by cliffs. You can kill as many as you like with your kukri knife (gathering 2 skins from each animal) - they will respawn indefinitely, and if you run out of space in your loot bag, just throw away items worth less than 3,800 Kr. You should collect at least 3 bharal skins for the 2nd level ammo bag upgrade. If you get more skins, you can sell each for 3,800 Kr when you get to Banapur.

After you take out all the soldiers in the poachers' village, you can kill the snow leopard which is trapped in a cage in the center of the village. Break the cage, jump on it and throw couple of knives to the leopard's head (there will be several throwing knives stuck in a dead pig inside a broken cage next to the poachers' village). If it still alive, finish the leopard with your kukri, this way you'll get 2 snow leopard skins. Also, during the last part of your journey to the bell tower (snowy part of the area) there is a chance you'll be attacked by another snow leopard, which will allow you to collect another skin.

If you throw baits in the poachers' village, it will attract bears. This way you can collect several bear skins (jump on top of a roof of some of the houses before throwing a bait to be safe from bear's claws).
2. Buy recurve bow in Banapur:
As I said, first thing you should do in Banapur is to sell all the junk in your loot bag (except animal skins*, green leaves and mom's note) and buy a recurve bow (you should also buy marksman sight if you can afford it). Killing animals with a bow will award you with karma points and will let you to collect 2 skins from one animal. Also, recurve bow has better damage, accuracy and range than hunter bow (which you get for free) - you will need less shots to kill an animal.
* If you have more than 3 bharal skins, sell the rest, you will need only 3 for 2nd level ammo bag upgrade.

Here's the map of the Banapur valley where I marked all animals you'll need to hunt:

(Note that animals' icons on the map do not always accurately reflect their locations)
3. Sambars, Honey Badgers:
Go east downhill from the village and use a zipline to get down to a T-junction where you can get 3 sambar skins to upgrade your loot bag to level  1:

If you already have 1 sambar skin, you will only need to kill one deer with your bow. Now you can finally add some room to your loot bag. If you want, you can stay around this spot a bit longer and hunt 3 more sambars to get 5 more skins for a 3rd level explosives bag upgrade, but you really don't have to at this point.
At this exact spot you can also hunt 4 honey badgers to get 7 skins required for 3rd level weapon holster and arrow quiver upgrades, but again, you can do it later. The quickest and safest way to hunt badgers at this location is to jump on top of the small hut at the end of the zipline and throw baits near the hut. The badgers won't get to you and you'll need only 2 arrows to the head or 4 arrows to the body to kill a badger:

4. Macaques, Tapirs:
Go 200-300 meters to the east from the T-junction. In this area you can hunt 2 Macaque monkeys and 4 tapirs to get 3 monkey skins for 2nd level wallet upgrade and 7 tapir skins for 2nd level weapon holster upgrade and 3rd level syringe kit upgrade.

4a. Optional: Bharals & Pigs:
If you have in your bag less than 3 bharal skins needed for 2nd level ammo bag upgrade, continue walking to the east and get to Khilana Bazaar outpost at the eastern edge of Banapur valley (see the map above).
You will find pigs at the same locations as bharals (on a hill to the north of the outpost and around a small pond to the south of the outpost). Hunting 2 pigs with a bow will give you 4 skins for 2nd loot bag upgrade and 1st arrow quiver upgrade.
5. Wild Boars, Wolves & Pigs:
Fast travel back to Banapur and take Amita's quest to clear a wolf den.
Then visit a store to equip your recurve bow instead of the hunter bow Amita gave you and take the northern road to get to the wild boar location marked on the map (near the lake to the west of the road, about a halfway to the wolves quest location):

Hunt 2 boars to get 4 skins to upgrade your ammo bag and syringe kit to level 1. Try to kill the boars instantly with headshots, otherwise they will run away and you'll have to chase them to take a 2nd shot.
After gathering 4 boar skins use them and 3 bharal skins in your bag to upgrade your ammo bag to level 2 and syringe kit to level 1.

Walk north to the location of Amita's quest and complete it (you will have to clear a wolf den which will give you a lot of wolf skins). Use wolf, tapir and honey badger skins in your bag to upgrade your weapon holster and syringe kit to level 3.
After you complete the quest, couple of pigs will spawn near the northern end of the hamlet, as shown on the map. Hunting 2 pigs with a bow will give you 4 skins for 2nd loot bag upgrade and 1st arrow quiver upgrade. (Don't forget to look around - there will be a lot of arrows and several health syringes near the house and in the basement to fill your newly upgraded quiver and syringe kit.)

* Don't forget at some point to take Sabal's quest to liberate the radio tower - it will clear the fog from the map and unlock the grappling hook. Maybe convenient timing is after you get some wolf pelts for a holster upgrade, so you could carry a firearm in addition to your bow, but on the other hand you can easily neutralize tower guards with just a bow if you acquired basic proficiency with it.
6. 2 Rhino skins:
Here comes the most fun part of the plan - now is the time to get 2 rhino skins to upgrade your explosives bag to level 1. ;)
You will find rhinos to the northeast of the big lake in the southeast corner of the Banapur valley (see the map in Step 2).
If you have Elephant Gun from Gold edition or Hurk Deluxe Pack, you will need just a single headshot to kill a rhino with it. If you don't have Elephant Gun, you can try to use mounted machine gun near Longinus house (look for the letter "L" in the bottom right corner of the map) or just shoot it with AK‑47 (although rhino is a real bullet sponge). You can try to snipe a rhino from a distance with your bow (to be able to get two skins from one animal), but be prepared to spend a lot of arrows, so aim at rhino's head.
Personally, I've killed rhinos with just a knife, using trees for protection. You can try to do the same, you will have a LOT of fun. ;)
-----------------------------
Note: You can choose not to hunt rhinos at this point, but instead get all 6 needed rhino skins after you get clouded leopard skins during step 7, which will allow you to increase the amount of arrows you can carry from 15 to 20 (or 30 after adding 4 honey badger skins). In this case you will have to keep 5 sambar skins and 3 snow leopard skins in your loot bag through steps 7 and 8. On the other hand, you can add room to your loot bag (from 90 items up to 120) by getting 4 demon fish skins in this step instead of step 9.
7. Snow Leopards, Clouded Leopards, Dholes, Tigers and Bears:
Fast travel back to Banapur, use obtained skins for all available upgrades (if you haven't already) and empty your bag from all unnecessary loot by selling it. Then exit the village along the southwest trail and reach the small house under the cliff (there will be Yalung mask under the bed, you can see its location on the map).

Collect or destroy the mask, exit the house and jump on top of the small shed next to the house. Start throwing baits and shoot every beast that comes. As I said before, when you throw bait at a spot on the map which is not associated with any particular predator, a random predator will spawn, so if you do it enough times you'll eventually get all predators that exist in the game (except honey badger), even the snow leopard in Southern Kyrat.
The most effective way is to shoot the predator in the head when it sits down and starts eating the bait; it will instantly turn to you, snapping in a threatening pose and allowing you to send one or two more arrows to its head. You need a single headshot to kill dhole, wolf or clouded leopard; two headshots for tiger or snow leopard and three headshots to kill a bear. Once the predator is dead, jump down to collect your arrows, skins and meat for the bait, then jump back up to the roof of the shed and throw another bait. After some time you will have all predator skins needed for all upgrades:

Whenever the pile of animal corpses becomes too thick and/or your loot bag gets filled with too many unnecessary skins, fast travel back to Banapur and sell them. Just keep the skins you still need for remaining upgrades, you can always check numbers with my crafting table above (the most handy way is to open it on your phone).
If at this point you haven't got yaks, after you get and utilize all predator skins which are required for all available upgrades, you can sell everything in your bag except the following skins you still need for remaining throwables and bait bags upgrades:

3 dhole skins
5 tiger skins
5 bear skins

Note: If you chose to skip step 6 and haven't got any rhino skins, you will also have to keep
3 snow leopard skins and 5 sambar skins (for explosives bag upgrade).
8. Remaining Rhinos, Sambars & Honey Badgers:
Go down the zipline to the T-junction and collect badger and sambar skins you still need for your holster, arrow quiver and explosives bag 3rd level upgrades (if you haven't got all of them already; scroll up to step 3 to read my advice on how to safely and effectively hunt badgers at this location).

Hunt rhinos to get 4 skins needed to upgrade your wallet to level 3 (come back to step 6 to read my advice on hunting rhinos).
9. Demon Fish:
Get down to the big lake to the southeast of Banapur, hop on a boat, scan the water with your camera to tag Demon fishes around you and shoot two of them with your bow (one arrow to the head or two to the body will kill a fish). This way you get 4 Demon fish skins required for the 3rd level loot bag upgrade.
10. Yaks (+ secret bonus weapon):
Now the only skins you need to get for the upgrade of two last bags are 5 yak skins. There are no yaks in Banapur valley and you can't make them spawn by throwing bait like you did with predators, so you will have to complete Act 1.
After liberating Khilana Bazaar outpost and the following cut scene with Amita, take the Hostage Rescue quest at the outpost - there will be 2 yaks wondering around the location of that quest. One arrow to the head + one to the body (or three to the body) is enough to kill a yak. Use two of their skins to upgrade your throwables bag and to finally utilize dhole and tiger skins you've been carrying in your loot bag.
Note: SirDiesAlot provided a great tip in his comment: You can lure one of the yaks out of the mission range (colored area on minimap) by throwing stones just like you do to distract a guard. It is very important to kill and skin the yak before triggering the start of the hostage mission by walking into the mission range (you should pay close attention to the minimap). If the yaks are deep inside the mission range, just wait until one of them wonders closer to the edge of the area, then start throwing stones near this yak. Try to lure the yak far away from the mission range to avoid crossing the edge of the area while shooting your bow and chasing the yak (if you accidentally triggered the start of the mission before skinning the yak, just abandon the mission from Esc menu and start again). After you get 2 skins from the yak, upgrade your throwables bag, save the game and walk into the mission range to start the hostage mission, then restart the mission from Esc menu. After the restart both of the yaks will respawn, allowing you to collect 3 more yak skins needed for your last upgrade (baits bag).
Now you need only 1 more yak skin for your baits bag upgrade. I suggest you get it at the farthest place possible, but believe me, this 3 minute flight across the entire Southern Kyrat is totally worth it! (Even If you already got all needed yak skins by using the tip from the note above, I strongly recommend that you still go to the place I describe below.)
Open the map and find a bell tower in the northeast corner of Southern Kyrat, to the northwest of the bridge (to see the bridge on the map, you must buy Mid-Kyrat locations map):

Mark this tower on the map as your destination, hop on a helicopter and fly to the tower. When you approach this bell tower (it's about 3 km from Khilana Bazaar outpost), it will be to the left of the bridge:

You can land your helicopter on top of the mountain, just don't get too close to the tower to avoid being spotted by the guards. This is the only tower in Southern Kyrat that's guarded by an elite Royal guards armed with P-416 rifles and most importantly, Z93 sniper rifles. It is truly a game-changing weapon - this .50 cal sniper rifle can be equipped with suppressor and enhanced scope (which has even greater magnification than high power scope) and can take down a rhino or heavy gunner with a single bullet to the head. To be able to get weapon like this in such an early stage of the game is a pretty big deal.
There will be two snipers guarding eastern and western cliffs, neutralize one of them and get your rifle:

Sometimes, only one of the snipers spawns or even none of them spawn at all; also, when you kill a sniper, his rifle might fall down from the cliff out of your reach. If something like this prevents you from getting Z93 rifle, kill yourself by jumping from the cliff or by letting one of the remaining guards shoot you to death, or provoke yaks to butt you repeatedly. This way you reset the tower so that all guards around it will respawn. You will respawn at the foot of the mountain; swing your way back with grappling hook and climb to the base of the tower from the underground tunnel marked by fallen bell:

Just remember not to liberate the tower before you get the sniper rifle, the guards won't respawn if you kill yourself after the tower is liberated.

There is always a herd of yaks to the west of the tower. Kill one of them, use its skin + 2 yak skins and 5 bear skins in your bag and you will be finally done with level 3 upgrades of all pieces of your equipment. All that's left is to unlock Fashion Week quests to obtain rare skins needed for level 4 upgrades.

How to quickly unlock Fashion Week quests
The outpost you will need to liberate in order to unlock Fashion Week quests is Kyra Tea Weigh Station at X:345.3, Y:380.4. Once you conquer it, you'll be invited to visit Mr. Mumu Chiffon at his house to the northwest of the outpost:

After your visit Mr. Chiffon, first Fashion Week quest will appear at Kyra Tea Weigh Station outpost. I really suggest you take it right away – completing this quest will unlock one‑handed M‑79 grenade launcher, which is a REALLY handy weapon to use with a helicopter (you'll find M‑79 launcher on top of a pile of explosives at the starting point of Black Water Dragon hunting quest):

You can also increase your carrying capacity up to 50 M‑79 grenades if you liberate Shanath Breeders Outpost at X:378.0, Y:575.0 and complete Fashion Week quest at that outpost.

Last word

You lure them out of the mission range (colored area on minimap), kill and loot them (so before triggering the mission), then walk into the mission range, restart last checkpoint or die to reset the mission, and then they respawn.
When you walk into the mission range it puts a checkpoint with what is in your inventory, but doesn't count whatever of the forced spawns have died or been collected.

Thanks for the tip about yaks. How does it work exactly? Do you have to kill the yaks BEFORE triggering that hostage mission to be able to save the progress with gained skins so that another pair of yaks will respawn when you reload the game and return to the mission area?
SirDiesAlot 27 Mar, 2022 @ 10:55am
If you want yaks, 2 of them spawn when you do the hostage mission available in the first outpost that you run for the prologue. You can lure them out of range of the mission (throw stones just like you are distracting a guard), kill them and then go into the mission area to trigger the mission, reload to last checkpoint and they respawn, giving you 8 yak skins. That's enough to finish crafting everything.

Also there is a point I prefer for hunting the predators, it's next to that same outpost. There is a tree growing out of the un-climbable mountainside that you can jump onto so that the predators just stand still, because they can't path to you. Rhinos can still reach you, though.
