About Ballistikrafts
Ballistikrafts are floating robots firing highly damaging rockets at the player. Needless to say, they are a high treat. They can not be destroyed through ordinary means, making them appear to be indestructible. However, they are not. There is always a way to get rid of them but it requires the player to be a little creative.

The currently known ways to destroy a Ballistikraft are the following:
  • Activating a trap which destroys them instantly
  • Using the attack of the God Mode powerup which destroys them instantly
  • Using the attack of the Dog Mode powerup which destroys them with a couple of bites

Ballistikrafts are introduced in the first level of Episode 3 and the last one appears in the third level of Episode 4. There are four of them in total.

This guide will tell you exactly what to do to at each encounter to dispose of them.
E3L1 - Robotricks
The first Ballistrikraft of the game can be found in the very first level of Episode 3, near the starting checkpoint.

Checkpoint 0: Say Hello to the Robots
It is located in the same room as the gold key, patrolling around in circles on a specific rectangle-shaped area on the ground level. You enter this room from the top floor.

After getting the gold key drop down below you (preferably not to the area where the Ballistikraft is).

Look for a button by the rails.

Press it to roast the Ballistikraft (and everything else unlucky enough to be standing in that rectangle-shaped area).
E3L3 - Dead in 5 Seconds
The second Ballistikraft is by the end of the third level of Episode 3.

Checkpoint 3: Rocket in the Pocket
When you get to this area make sure to pick up the Bazooka, as it makes things easier.

Continue on until you see this God Mode powerup through a window.

It will only be accessible from the next checkpoint. Make sure you have enough health and then go inside the vent and drop down to reach the checkpoint.

Checkpoint 4: The Floor is Lava
After dropping down and coming out of the vent you will see the God Mode powerup on a platofrm high up to the right. (Secret #5) The only way to reach it is by rocket-jumping with a Bazooka. A Split Missile should do the trick as well.

If you don't have a Bazooka (or a Split Missile) then there is one located further ahead. This however, requires getting past two soldiers (one of them wielding a rocket launcher) and the Ballistikraft patrolling to the left of the blast pit area, and then getting back in one piece, which is quite tricky.

Either way, once you had managed to rocket-jump up there and picked up the powerup, drop down (the lava won't kill you now) and go past the area with the two guards. You should be able to see the Ballistikraft to the left of the blast pit area. (Sometimes it goes into one of the small rooms.) Simply attack it while God Mode is still active to make it explode into pieces.
E3L4 - Clear and Present Dangers
The third Ballistikraft is found by the end of the fourth level of Episode 3.

Checkpoint 3: It's the Pits
After dropping down to this area with a lava pit in the middle, go through the corridor and the Ballistikraft will be around the corner. It will see you immediately if you go to the corner so be ready to evade the incoming missiles.

It is floating on a small platform (which looks like a crate elevator) above a pit of lava. To the left of the platform is a yellow crane.

Start circling around the room to the left until you reach the crane which will provide you with cover from the Ballistikraft's rockets. You will notice that there is a switch on the crane's side.

Pull it and the crane will smash the Ballistikraft with a violent but beautiful explosion.
E4L3 - Backfire
The fourth and final Ballistikraft of the game is featured in the middle of the third level of Episode 4.

Checkpoint 1: Crystal Caves
It will take a while but eventually you will come across a small intersection in the caverns. There will be a few enemies (two Death Monks and an Überpatrol) coming for you from the left. (The screenshot shows that it is possible to reach and destroy this Ballistikraft with bites while under the effects of the Dog Mode powerup found previously but this method is NOT recommended for players going for 100% completion as it requires to skip a lot of kills and pickups.)

After getting rid of the enemies turn left at the intersection and you will see the Ballistikraft on the other side of a wide gap with lava on the bottom. Be warned that it will start firing at you immediately!

Move to a safe place (behind the crates for example) and aim for the big glowing cyan crystal on the ceiling above the Ballistikraft.

Simply shoot the crystal and it will fall onto the Ballistikraft, smashing it into scrap metal.

Make sure to bid farewell to it before doing so, as it is the last one you will see in the game. :)

This guide was written and all in-game screenshots were taken by NABN00B.

The picture of the Ballistikraft is taken from the official Rise of the Triad Manual.

Thanks to DSP, Kappakatt and Kazduin for their Mega Secrets Guide and Lucas for their Checkpoint Screens to 100% guide, making 100% completion easier.

Thanks to the Rise of the Triad Steam community for not creating a guide about this earlier, allowing me to do so.

Finally, thanks to Interceptor Entertrainment for developing Rise of the Triad (2013)! I would give them a chicken leg as well but I feel that they could have done a much better job on the game. :P

Also I noticed that you can kill second Ballistikraft (in E3L3 - Dead in 5 Seconds) without a God Mode. You need to sneak past of it and activate a flamethrower by a switch in next room which will kill it instantly. However killing Ballistikraft with God Mode is much more fun since I like to complete game in 100 percent.

Unfortunately "Under the Hood" and "Chamomillionaire" achievements aren't available anymore. Devs had to remove some achievements.
