Do your damn job
Have you ever been chasing two criminals at the same time? Have you ever wished you didn't have to choose between completing the arrest of the first perp, or stopping the second perp from getting away?

Don't you wish the cops would just do their damn job?
What to do
What you might not realize is that the cop calling system pulls more from RTS than just action.
The person you are chasing is who the cops are going to respond to. So if the perp is on foot the first thing you should do is call for on-foot support for your current target, then switch your attention to the other guy. Do the same thing for the other perp, and now you have tracking on both.

Pretty neat.

Additionally the cops may fully apprehend and monitor the perp while you are gone, or your annoying buddy will handle the arrest.
Thank you

The really annoying one is when you're supposed to be doing on-foot patrols, but the game keeps spawning Erratic Drivers and Carjackings, which can't even be pursued on foot fast enough to generate 1-2 bars of support, so you'll want to abandon the callouts before you get penalized 25/50 xp for the suspect getting away...

@SirPantsington just chase until you have 1-2 support tokens, then select Officer and that will set them off on the guy
you can then turn around and give chase to the other perp(s)
Rinse repeat

I wish Kelly would be useful so I would not need to call anyone else.

What is the support option to do this?

Well damn, I actually didn’t know that — thanks!

I’ve definitely been in situations where I had to watch one perp get away just because my AI partner stood there like a statue. I had no idea the support call system worked like that behind the scenes. That’s actually really clever — pulling from RTS mechanics? Neat indeed.

With that said, I’d love to see this kind of functionality be made a bit more intuitive or even automated. Maybe have your partner automatically chase or track the second suspect if you call in support — or prompt the player with a quick action option. Right now it’s easy to miss unless you dig into the mechanics.

Either way, appreciate the insight! Subbing to your site now — thanks again. 🙏
