Game freeze randomly (Nvidia)

Problem: On the latest version of Nvidia drivers (576.40) the game may freeze randomly, both during the game and in the menu or cutscene.

Solution: Roll back to driver version 572.83. Use the official Nvidia website (or follow the link https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/242277/). When installing, you need to select:

Custom installation;
Perform a clean installation.

UPD for 4070 users

Try 566.36 drivers, if 572.83 doesn't work.

When you launch the game, it will complain about the old version of Nvidia drivers and insistently ask to update - ignore this message and just start the game :)
I checked it myself, on 4060 everything is fine, the problem went away after the rollback.

If anyone has the cursed intel series of cpus installing the newer microcode for your bios may help

@[UTD]mjr121 Same here, with a RTX 4060ti & I7 7000k, work with me with 576,28. I have installed only the driver without the GeForce Exp

Windows settings -> System -> Display -> (scroll down) Graphics settings -> Turn ON Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.

Have played around between rollback/settings and seems that every version without the rollback (yesterday AND today) still got the game total freeze, all settings, various resolutions. I was good yesterday but when I booted up the game today it was saying to update driver (figured with 2 patches, would be okay). Nope. Same issues but the minute I rolled back the driver, all smiles and sunshine. Can't figure out the BIOS warning I still get though, have tried updating everything a few times but still comes up. Other than that, seems to run pretty good at decent framerate now.

Do I just run the exe file it gives and it will over write what i already have installed or do i need to uninstall my current version? 4060

Yeah i tried a bunch of different drivers didnt do much
tried a bunch of other things nothing seemed to work
atp ill just wait for a patch hopefully

doom the dark ages is just a hard game to run and kinda requires expensive graphics cards
