Do I need advanced content? Because every time when I met a slug ship they are not giving the quest. :/

can you use the lifeform scanner augment as a substitute for the slug crewmember/sensor upgrade?

I started the guide exactly like it said and I finally got the ship but the quest never appeared on my map. What is up with that?

Has anyone actually gotten the event in a Slug controlled nebula that *wasn't* the home nebula? I.e., do we know for sure whether any Slug nebula will work?
