Launch Black Mesa Military using launch options

Greetings dear fellow scientist, this guide will help you disguise clean and properly into HECU marine using Steam Launch options. Infiltrate the Black Mesa Research Facility and experience the Resonance Cascade scenario from a different perspective.

  • Navigate to the workshop folder and copy the mod content to the base Black Mesa folder
  • Workshop folder - steam/steamapps/workshop/content/362890/1720191293
  • Base game folder - steam/steamapps/common/Black Mesa
  • Rename the "Launch Black Mesa Military.bat" for example to "bmmilitary.bat" in order to launch it easier, it worked for me.
  • You can do the same for "Launch Black Mesa Military oldUI.bat" if you prefer running the game in old UI.
  • Now navigate to the launch options for Black Mesa and add a -game bmmilitary and that's it. Once you press play it should run the game directly from Library.
SteamOS/Linux
Extra note: SteamOS and Linux players make sure to launch the game via Proton otherwise it will not work!
Roll back to base game
Just remember if you want to play base Black Mesa remove the -game bmmilitary from launch options. This will also not affect your default campaing save files.
