The campaign for Black Ops 2 has only one collectible achievement, for obtaining all 33 intel items, titled "High IQ." Each story (main) mission contains exactly three intel items, which will have the appearance appropriate to its era. Because each story mission has a challenge for collecting all of its containing intel collectibles, finding all of these items is necessary for obtaining Giant Accomplishment.

Every intel collectible will have the appearance of either a golden reel-to-reel tape recorder or an orange-glowing tablet. The recorder appears in the past levels whilst the tablet appears in the 2025 levels:

Most of these intel items are easy to find, but for some you must go out of your way. This guide will provide text-based instructions, supplemented with screenshots and animated GIFs, directing you to each of the 45 intel collectibles. It will also include a brief video overview and links to other guides which I personally used to find said collectibles.

I recommend using the Access Kit, as it will indicate many of the referenced landmarks in this guide.

Found on the right side of the battlefield, resting in a crater adjacent to the overturned buffel, which can be opened with an access kit to obtain mortars.

Hidden behind a corner on the upper deck of the Congo River cargo barge, next to the port side mounted MG.

After the encounter with the radio operator, hug the left side (southeast) wall of the jungle. In the second retreating bound, climb the left-most poacher platform (aka crows nest, sniper platform, etc.) and you will find the intel.

After initially engaging OpFor, you will ascend up to a helipad. The platform holds two grounded UAVs; the first can be destroyed by you (or Salazar) and the second can be hacked with an access kit. Directly behind the insecure tarp-covered drone is a small room, with the intel resting on a table.

Immediately after the ambush by ASDs, move to the base of the stairwell. Turn around to face the entrance, then move into the office to the right. The intel sits upon a desk which looks to be a windowed receptionist kiosk.
(Should you miss this item, you should be able to collect it prior to the end of the mission, as long as you do not get to close to Admiral Briggs. Please correct this note if this is not possible)

Following the introduction to the Karma cyber superweapon, move forward into the room previously blocked. Continue forward until reaching the table against the wall, where the intel is found.

Immediately after the war room debriefing with Hudson, turn to your right. The intel sits upon a wooden crate.

Detonate the cratering charge then return to the main valley. You will see a red flag at the foot of a spire. Dismount and find the intel sitting on the sand next to the flag.

Moving to secure the weapons cache to the east, you will see a shallow cave along the eastern rock wall. The intel is on the right side of this cave.

As Menendez, open the barn doors and sidestep the fleeing horses. Move to the other end of the stable but stop at the back of the hay wagon, which contains the intel.

As Alex Mason, spot Menendez collecting the previous intel, then move to enter the estate courtyard. Move into the bell tower and climb to the third floor, where this intel sits upon wooden crates.

Enter the underground compound with Woods and clear the cocaine lab. Before the right turn into the burning room (but shortly after the stairwell into the corridor), there is an auxiliary room to the left. The intel is found on a bench, next to a bucket

Immediately after freeing the GCM module of the Maximus CLAW, turn to the west wall of the starting room. The intel is found on the shelf, just below eye-level.

Evade the street bus by opening the gate with Harper, check if you still have your balls, then proceed to the alley to the right. The intel is at the archway's base.

Sneaking by the Hunter-Killer MQ drones, enter the building ruins with Harper. A section of the roof will collapse, illuminated by a drone's spotlight. The intel is laying next to this rubble.

Clear the CRC (server) room, but before proceeding to the uplink chamber, move to the eastern wall, where a table holding the intel is.

Fight you way through the mall until you see the CAFI sign. Descend to the lower level, then move into the d'HO store, located to the right (north). The intel is at the rear sales counter, along the far wall.

In the exterior chase for DeFalco, hug the right side whenever possible. (Barring a few ASDs, this is one of the safest routes possible.) Shortly before the stairs to the upper level, there will be a sales kiosk sandwiched between two signs (the first having a woman;s face and the second having written "LKH"). This kiosk holds the intel on the opposite side.

Enter the hangar from the skylight and clear the upper floor. Before moving downstairs, look to your left to find the intel on a shelf.

Fighting through the slums, find your way to the church at the west. Entering the church plaza and facing the front entrance, turn left (South) and move into the building with a hole in the wall. The intel is on the far-side counter.

After entering the clinic, move straight forward all the way down to the other end of the building. The intel is next to a sink.

Playing as Farid, enter the courtyard from the stage and hug the right (West) wall. Place the center minaret to your left. At the end of the arcade, there is a door to a circular tower. The intel is on the first floor.

Playing as Section, assume manual control over the quads and enter the street. Assume the left (North) side of the killzone and, in the first room of the first building, look behind the crates in the North East corner.

Exiting the town, hug the right side of the cliff-face, using the dirt path along the edge. Shortly after losing control of the quads, climb the ladder to the building along the path and find the intel next to the roof satellite dish.

The intel can be found on the right (Starboard/South) side of the bridge. You can spot it easily when taking the right path on approach. It can also be found when attempting to access the Bridge Control Terminal, after resuming control of Section; simpky proceed straight forward.

As Section, assess the damage in the server room, then descend one flight of stairs. Before descending another level, take the stairs to the right to ascend to an observation area. The intel sits upon a table. Do not approach Salazar before obtaining this intel.

On the Obama's flight deck there are two intact VTOLs. The intel is on the floor of the second (farthermost) VTOL.

Rappel from the elevated freeway down to the expressway, then move into the left side. Look for a burning SUV with a motor officer in the driver's seat. The intel is on the floor, right next to the corpse.

Exit your MRAP and destroy the enemy CLAW. Clear the street, then enter Hotel Kaylor to your left. The intel is on the concierge's desk.

Entering the downtown shopping plaza, move indoors, on the left. Ascend the escalators and find the intel to the right, at the bottom of a t-shirt souvenir kiosk.

Ascend up the stairs and fight your way to the entrance. In the exterior, you will find an MRAP outfitted with a SAM platform. The building adjacent to this MRAP, marked with the number "27" holds the intel. Move to the second floor and find the intel near a window.

Entering the control room and looking up at the top booth, climb to the second row of monitors and search the left column.

The final intel tablet is found at the bottom of Celerium device chamber, as seen in the underground Myanmar facility in Celerium. Take any staircase down; objects that appear to obstruct your path have no collision. The intel is on a crate.
