Due to the massive continuous flow of fellow crawlers looking in the discussion pages, discord, and everywhere else trying to find a solution to this that has to be answered time after time, I am creating this to ease the access of this information to the public eye.

I AM A FULL ADVOCATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO SOLVE THE DOOR WITHOUT SEEKING ANSWERS FIRST. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ TIPS ONE BY ONE AT MOST, ONLY SEEKING THE ANSWER WHEN YOU HAVE EXHAUSTED THE POSSIBILITIES. WORK WITH YOUR FELLOW DWARVES! IT'S A GROUP PUZZLE!

This guide will provide tips as well as a full explanation on how to open the Ancient Door Event Room, taken from my wiki page I created months ago (that most seem to not know exists (Wiki Link[cavecrawlers.wiki.gg])). I will note spoilers as I go along, but this marks the warning for spoilers that may lie ahead.

The Ancient Door is an Event Room that can spawn alongside any Crystal Caverns floor. Visually, it is a large, engraved, rocky structure that houses two unlit braziers in its front. On its sides are a column each, both having 3 rings, while reaching from the floor to the roof. On the gateway of the door lies a large, engraved dwarf face that stares outward. Although many have been concerned that the door may be bugged or unopenable, it is confirmed to have a method of opening, revealing what is inside. The process of opening the door requires at least 2 runs, or an extraction. The Ancient Door is designed to be a group puzzle, solved through multiple Dwarf brains coming together to find a solution.

The following contains spoilers to the Ancient Door's solution. Below is a list of spoilered hints and answers, step by step, on how to complete the puzzle. It is HEAVILY advised that you attempt to work on your own solution before viewing the full answer here!

General Tips:

Below are a few hints that lead you further to the completion of this lofty goal, in a general order.

1. In general, be weary not to fall victim to red herrings.Many things surrounding / interacting with the Ancient Door may not always bring you closer to the truth.
   
   
2. A simple starting point for this process is toacquire the Bloody Note and read its Task description, which details the skeleton's attempt and failure at delivering a shipment.
   
   
3. Straight from Lord Spartan, a guiding tip is tolook within the patch notes (discord server has them) during the time the Ancient Door was added / tweaked, version 0.7, to find a hidden clue regarding a requirement.
   
   
4. As for any detailed search, be mindful ofrewards given to you from Tasks. They are important for this process!

Specific Tips Explanation:

Below is an elaboration of the few hints that above to guide you further away from the vague nature of the original ones above to a more specific version of each.

1. Red herring elaboration:Polearms getting lodged in the Ancient Door is not part of the solution, nor are the braziers.
   
   
2. Starting point elaboration:The Bloody Note points toward the "Lost Cache" Task being the shipment the skeleton aimed to bring.
   
   
3. Lord Spartan elaboration:A patch note states the "Lost Cache" Task was completing upon entry to the Ancient Door. This points you to complete the task but NOT turn it in.
   
   
4. Search elaboration:The Bloody Note Task provides you with the Bloody Gloves cosmetic item, which is vital to wear for the opening of the Ancient Door.

The following contains spoilers to the Ancient Door's solution. It is advised you attempt to work on your own solution before viewing the full answer here! More hints can be found above or by contacting me through the official discord[discord.gg].

• Step 1 (Location):In order to begin the process of opening the Ancient Door, you must first locate the door itself. It can be found on any floor of Crystal Caverns, including floor 20.
  
  
• Step 2 (Skeleton):The next step to opening the Ancient Door is to acquire and complete the "Bloody Note" task. To obtain this task, you must collect the Bloody Note item found on the skeleton next to the Ancient Door.
  
  
• Step 3 (Extraction):After obtaining the Bloody Note, you must extract from the cave to complete the task.
  
  
• Step 4 (Equipment):Upon turning in the task, you will be awarded with the Bloody Gloves skin. These gloves have to be worn in order to open the door.
  
  
• Step 5 (Collection):As you level up, it will be possible to acquire the "Missing Quota" task. Once received, you must complete it to continue by adventuring around while collecting 5 of the missing crates filled with crystals. DO NOT TURN IN THE TASK. If you have failed this step, the only way to get the task back is to prestige and get it again.
  
  
• Step 6 (Re-Location):Now that your task is completed but not turned in, you must return to the door for the final steps.
  
  
• Step 7 (Placement):Now that it has been located, place the boxes around the opening to the door by the braziers. This can be done by hitting [E] (default) on the prompts when hovering over the space where one can be placed. All 5 must be placed in any order for the door to open.
  
  
• Step 8 (Loot!):Loot! The Ancient Door will open, providing you with access to your final gift: 3 chests and the Old Faded Shirt skin.
