Greetings Tarnished,

Do you experience a regular FPS drops and stuttering after 20-40min of gameplay ?

You have nVidia graphic card ?

You have verified your hardware, no overheat/temp issues ?

All drivers and Windows (10/11) are up to date ?

You have already tried different stuff suggested on forums and game still stuttering ?

If response is "Yes" to previous questions then you are at right place.

Please give a look into next 7 steps to go through in order to get rid of these issues once for all.

Accordingly to your system you may need go throught several or all steps from 1 to 7.

STEP1: MICRO$OFT STORE CRAP CLEAN
- Download and install Geek Uninstaller utility tool Geek Uninstaller (direct link https://geekuninstaller.com/geek.zip)

- Run the tool and remove these 4 apps: Insider Hub; Game Bar; Xbox Identity Provider; Xbox Live

- Verify that Store did not re-installed them automatically; if did then disable auto-update function (let me know if need a guide for this step)

STEP2: DEVICE MANAGER
- In Device Manager, Display Adapters: if you have unused integrated graphic card - right-click on it and Disable:















- In Device manager, Software Devices: disable "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator":

STEP3: CLEAR SHADERS CACHE
- Disable shader cache in nVidia control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Global Settings -> set 'Disable' and Apply:














- Wipe content of these locations:

  • C:\Users\yourProfile\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache

  • C:\Users\yourProfile\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\GLCache

  • Note: if some files cannot be deleted - no worries just ignore and continue

- Re-Enable shader cache in nVidia control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Global Settings -> set 'Default' and Apply


- Right click on C:\ drive (drive where your Windows is installed), Properties, click on Disk Clean-Up -> check "DirectX Shader Cache" box -> OK:
STEP4: NVIDIA
- Go nVidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings tab, select Elden Ring: click on Restore button to restore default settings and Apply:










- Go nVidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Program Settings tab, select Elden Ring: set "Tripple Buffering" to [ON] and "Max Frame Rate" to [60] and Apply:

STEP5: EASY ANTI-CHEAT
- Go in C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat\
- Delete EasyAntiCheat.sys file (backup/copy before)


- Go in C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS\
- Delete EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys file (backup/copy before)


STEP6: STEAM
- In Steam, right-click on Elden Ring, Properties, General tab: disable "Enable the Steam overlay while in-game"

- In Steam, right-click on Elden Ring, Properties, General tab: set "Launch Option" to [Play Elden Ring]

- In Steam, Settings, Downloads tab: enable "Allow background processing of Vulkan shaders"

STEP7: WINDOWS










- Delete game shortcut from Desktop

- Update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (direct link https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe)

- Install .NET Framework v4.8.1 (direct link https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net481-web-installer)

- Finally restart computer and run the game from Steam library 'Play' button (no desktop shortcut)
