Introduction

Final Fantasy XVI 100% Achievement Guide

Number of Missable Achievements: 2 - The "Half Past Twilight" and "My Reward Is with Me"(DLC) the 2 achievements are missable only if you sell the materials needed for Gotterdammerung/Omega (Ragnarok, Orichalcum, Darksteel, Primitive Battlehorn, Fallen Enforcer Reforged, Flawless Nodule, Flawless Tissue, Flawless Humerous). To avoid missing either of them, simply don’t sell any materials.

Minimum Number of Playthroughs: 2 - You must complete the game in New Game+ on Final Fantasy difficulty and also beat both DLCs on this difficulty.

Time to 100%: Approximately 70 hours or more.

It's best to wait until your second playthrough on Final Fantasy difficulty before starting on the DLC achievements, so you don’t have to complete them twice.

This game offers a relatively "stress" free, easy path to 100% completion. However, be aware that there is missable content not related to achievements. When the game warns that it's your last chance to finish up side content, you should probably take the opportunity to do so. There are permanently missable items if you move on to NG+ without first bringing crafting materials and unique talismans obtained from chests or side quests from your initial playthrough.

Some NG+ equipment requires materials from monsters that are only accessible in the first playthrough, making them unavailable in NG+. Additionally, you need two of each talisman to craft the upgraded NG+ talismans, meaning you won’t be able to craft every talisman unless you bring one of each (excluding purchased talismans) into NG+. Not Required for Achievements^^ But still mentioning them

Combat Achievements
Punisher Punish 10 enemies (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue). Should come naturally through progression

You're Not the Boss of Me Defeat a boss without taking damage. This achievement can be a bit misleading; it only works on a small number of specific bosses, not all of them. The first chance to earn this achievement is during the boss fight with "Midnight Raven" in Main Quest #9, 'Fanning Embers.' Be sure to make a manual save beforehand. If you want to make it easier, equip the autododge ring. If you missed this opportunity, don’t worry. You can wait until you've completed the story and replay The Greatwood via Stage Replay from the Arete Stone in the Hideaway. Alternatively, you can try again in New Game+.

Made to Be Broken Defeat 20 enemies while semi-primed (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue). Should come naturally through progression

It's Over 50,000 Deal an enemy 50,000 damage while it is staggered (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue and while fully primed as Ifrit). Should come naturally through progression

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift Land 15 Shift Strikes or Shift Shots combined (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Packing Heat Execute and land 2 Heatwave Counters in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue). "Heatwave” is an Eikon ability unlocked during Main Quest 7: A Chance Encounter. You can purchase it from the Phoenix Eikon for 120 Ability Points and equip it to your active abilities. There's no need to upgrade it; the base level is sufficient. To perform a Heatwave Counter, you must activate Heatwave at the precise moment a ranged projectile is about to hit you. When done correctly, the text “Heatwave Counter” will appear on the right side of the screen. Keep in mind, this only works against ranged attacks—not melee ones. Timing is crucial. If you activate Heatwave while the projectile is still far away, the special counter animation won’t trigger. Press the button to start the Heatwave windup just as the projectile is about to connect with you.

A Fine Hound Execute and land 5 Precision Sics (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Fatal Attraction Defeat 5 enemies in the air after using Deadly Embrace (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Never Coming Down Land Gouge, Wicked Wheel, and Rook's Gambit in midair before landing (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

I Am the Thunder Discharge 50 Blind Justice lightning balls (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Rod to Redemption Lure an enemy into striking a Lightning Rod 3 times before it dissipates (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Untouchable Use Titanic Block to fend off 10 enemy attacks (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Beat Rocking Blocks Land the third punch of a Titanic Counter twice in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue).

100 Mfps Land 100 total hits with Lv. 2 or higher Megaflare (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Such Dodge, So Mega Execute a Precision Dodge 3 times while charging a single Megaflare (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Oh, Snap! Inflict Permafrost on 10 enemies by perfectly dodging attacks with Cold Snap (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Cold-blooded Simultaneously defeat three or more enemies frozen using Frostbite, Permafrost, or Diamond Dust (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Every Damn Sinew Land a Lv. 2 or higher Zantetsuken five times (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).

Fistful of Steel Execute 3 Steel Counters in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue).

For the Hoard Obtain all curiosities. This achievement description can be quite misleading. You don’t need to collect all Curiosities—only the 22 specific ones displayed in Clive’s Room at the Wall of Memories, which unlocks during Main Quest #27: Cid the Outlaw. In your inventory, these will be marked with yellow text stating “displayed in Clive’s chambers.” Other Curiosities do not count towards this achievement. Specifically, none of the Orchestrion Rolls or purchasable items from merchants are required. Although there are more than 22 Curiosities in total, only these specific 22 matter. Once you have found all 22, interact with the Wall of Memories in Clive’s Room to unlock the achievement.

It’s advisable to tackle these trials after completing the main story and crafting Gotterdammerung. Your gear and level carry over into the trials, so they will become easier as you progress further in the game.

Think, Mark! Defeat 10 notorious marks. Notorious Marks are unique, stronger monsters found in the open world. They are the targets listed on the Hunt Board. Refer to the achievement below. Hunter, Hunted Clear the Hunt Board. The Hunt Board unlocks later in the story during Main Quest #31: Release. There are 32 Hunt Board Quests, each requiring you to slay one of the 32 Notorious Marks. To complete these quests, you must locate and defeat the specific monster displayed on the Hunt Board. These marks unlock gradually as you progress through main quests and side quests.

The Pen Is Mightier Open 10 letters at the reading table. Letters can be viewed at the Reading Table in Clive’s Room, which is unlocked during Main Quest #27: Cid the Outlaw. There are a total of 48 letters, but for this achievement, you only need to find 10. Letters will arrive as you progress through main quests and side quests.

The More You Know Help Harpocrates attain a knowledge level of 5. Harpocrates is the elderly man found in The Hideaway. You can speak to him between quests to update his knowledge level, which increases based on your game progress. Essentially, his level reflects your overall game completion. With each quest you finish, you gain more "knowledge," which can then be shared with Harpocrates. His maximum level is 8, but you only need to reach Level 5, which is roughly 62.5% game completion.

Careful Whisper Obtain all available items from your patrons. Patron Items are rewards from the Patron’s Whisper shop in The Hideaway. You unlock more of these items as you increase your Renown, which is earned by completing Main Quests, Side Quests, and Hunt Board Quests. To afford all the Patron Items, you'll need nearly 100% game completion.

You Can Pet the Dog Pet Torgal 5 times. Should come naturally through progression. (If not what are you doing?!?)

When You Ride Alone Ride Ambrosia for the first time. Step 1: Complete Main Quest 31: Release. Afterward, the Side Quest “The White-Winged Wonder” will appear on the map at Martha’s Rest. Step 2: Finish the Side Quest “The White-Winged Wonder” at Martha’s Rest. Upon completion, you'll unlock Ambrosia, a Chocobo mount that you can ride around the map. Step 3: Ride your Chocobo!

Here Be Rosfields Visit all areas on the world and local maps. There are 68 areas you have to visit. You will visit all areas automatically by finishing all main quests and side quests.

Eureka Spend 36,000 gil at the Tub & Crown. This becomes possible after reaching Main Quest 28: Home, Sweet Home, at which point you unlock the Tub & Crown in The Hideaway. It’s the pub located immediately to the right of Charon’s Toll Shop and marked on the map. The quickest way to complete this is by buying drinks for 10,000 gil, four times in a row. If you don’t have 40,000 gil yet, you can either wait until you've saved enough or sell items from your inventory to gather the required amount. Make sure to create a manual save beforehand. After obtaining the achievement, reload your save to recover the money.

Fantasy, Finally Complete the game on "Final Fantasy" mode. Final Fantasy mode is not available at the start of the game. It unlocks after completing the story once on any difficulty (finishing on the easiest difficulty, Story Focused, is sufficient).
Character Specific
Yes, Eikon Master all of a single Eikon's abilities and feats. To fully upgrade all abilities in ONE Eikon Skill Tree, you need 13,425 Ability Points for the first Eikon, "Phoenix," which is the cheapest. You can reset abilities anytime in the Abilities Menu. Basic combat moves from the skill tree in the middle dont count for this. Only the Eikon-Specific ones that you unlock gradually through story progress.

Masterclass Upgrade all feats and abilities to their maximum. To fully upgrade ALL abilities from all skill trees, including the central one, you need a total of 118,400 Ability Points. Even after completing two playthroughs, you won't have enough points from quests alone. Fortunately, you can farm 1,120 Ability Points every 90 seconds by defeating Hyenas in Vidargaes, the final area of the game, during New Game+.

With Two Ds Upgrade consumable potency and inventory slots to their maximum. There are 4 upgrades: 2 Potion Potency Upgrades (which increase healing per use) and 2 Potion Capacity Upgrades (which allow you to carry more potions). All upgrades are obtained as rewards from side quests.

Half Past Twilight Craft the legendary sword Gotterdammerung. First, you must complete the Blacksmith’s Blues questline, which consists of 4 side quests: Blacksmith’s Blues I – Available during Main Quest #35: Here Be Monsters. It starts in The Hideaway by talking to August. Blacksmith’s Blues II – Unlocks after completing Main Quest #47: Letting Off Steam III. Start it by talking to Mid and reading the letter “About Blackthorne” in The Hideaway. Blacksmith’s Blues III – Becomes available after finishing Main Quest #59: Like Father, Like Daughter. It starts in The Hideaway by talking to August. Blacksmith’s Blues IV – Available during Main Quest #62: Across the Narrow. Start it by talking to August in The Hideaway. Completing this questline unlocks the Gotterdammerung Design Draft, allowing you to craft the Gotterdammerung at the Blacksmith. You will also receive the first material, Ragnarok, as a reward for completing the questline. However, you will still need to collect the remaining materials to craft the weapon. All 4 Blacksmith’s Blues quests remain available after finishing the main story, so they don’t need to be completed as soon as they become available. They are not missable. The remaining materials are obtained by completing Notorious Marks. Some of these materials only become available after reaching Main Quest #67: Back to Their Origin.
Echoes of the Fallen DLC
To start the DLC, you must be near the end of a regular playthrough (either on the quest "Back to Their Origin" or with a Clear Save after defeating the final boss) and have completed the side quests "Phoenix, Heal Thyself," "Where There's a Will," and "Priceless" (related to Joshua and Jill, in that order). Once these requirements are met, a new objective to speak to Charon in The Hideaway will appear.

A Crystal Darkly Brave the dusk. Story Related.

The Only Way Is Up Enter the spire. Story Related.

Repercussion Silence the echoes. Story Related.

OMG Defeat Omega on "Final Fantasy" mode. Story Related.

Bit Fit Obtain all Fallen bits. There are 6 Fallen bits located in "The Sagespire," the unique dungeon area where the main part of the DLC takes place. These accessories feature unique ability combinations not found in the main game. Of the 6 bits, 4 are obtained from chests, while the remaining 2 are automatically acquired from bosses you must defeat to progress. If you miss any bits from chests, you can collect them by using the Stage Replay feature at the Arete Stone in The Hideaway. "The Sagespire" is playable as the farthest right option in the Stage Replay list.

My Reward Is with Me Obtain the Omega Weapon. Once you have completed the main DLC quest, you will automatically receive all the required items to craft the Omega Weapon or Omega Weapon Reforged. Head over to Blackthorne to craft it and unlock your final achievement in the DLC.
The Rising Tide DLC
To start the DLC, you must be near the end of a regular playthrough (either on the quest "Back to Their Origin" or with a Clear Save after defeating the final boss) and have completed the side quests "Where There's a Will," and "Priceless".

The Calm Find again what was lost. Story Related.

Homecoming Enter Mysidia. Story Related.

Flow Awaken the storm. Story Related.

Flood Restore the flow of time. Story Related.

Explain that Tamed the tides. Story Related.

Thou Brakest the Head Defeat Leviathan in "Final Fantasy" mode. Story Related.

Tideslinger Land 300 Tidal attacks combined (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue). You will naturally obtain this shortly after unlocking Leviathan's abilities. The fastest method is to use Serpent’s Cry, then spam Tidal Torrent, as it functions like a shotgun blast, hitting multiple times per shot.

Supersoaker Strike three or more enemies with Tidal attacks while using unlimited ammunition following a Quick Refill. This achievement can be easily obtained during the first battle where you're required to use only Leviathan abilities. Three enemies must die from your Tidal attacks, not just take damage. Simply hitting them isn't enough; it only counts if they die. Attack Perykos, and it will eventually summon smaller enemies. Refill your water gauge and time the prompt when the line is within the highlighted circle to gain unlimited ammo for a few seconds. While this effect is active, defeat three of the enemies using Tidal Torrent or Tidal Stream. The enemies should be close enough together to accomplish this easily. If you don't earn it here, you can do so in the Kairos Gate.

Deus Ex Channel the heavens. This can only be unlocked after completing the main DLC story quest. Go to The Hideaway and interact with the Arete Stone, located opposite the shop, to receive the Ultima Eikon.

A Most Worthy Vessel Acquire and master all Leviathan and Ultima abilities. You need to unlock and master every ability from Leviathan and Ultima. This requires a significant amount of AP, totaling 32,500. You might have enough from your main game and previous DLC playthroughs (if you completed them) to max out all abilities. If you need to farm AP, you can use the same spot from the base game.

The End Can Wait Complete 10 Mysidian quests. There are 11 new quests available in the Mysidian region, which unlock as you progress through the story. The first 6 quests become available before facing Leviathan, while the remaining 5 unlock afterward.

Still Breathing Complete the Trial by Water. The Chronolith is located in the north of Mysidia, by Languor Falls. The actual trial is straightforward. Using Leviathan’s powerful abilities makes it easy to build up a lot of extra time.

Occasio Calva Complete Kairos Gate. Kairos Gate is unlocked after completing the story and accessed from an Arete Stone. This mode is a 20-round survival challenge where you cannot use any gear or accessories, and your level is capped at 80. You must complete all 20 rounds in a row without dying; if you die, you start over from round 1. There is no way to save mid-run or use save backups. This may sound daunting, but with the right setup and strategy, it will become much easier. At the end of each round, you will receive EP and BP, which are used to purchase permanent and temporary upgrades for Clive during your run. These upgrades are very useful and will help make the challenge easier as you progress.

I'll try the NG+ method first, hopefully it counts! thanks!

@rodrigo You have to go for "Ragnarok Reforged" in New Game+. There's nothing you can do to save it right now.. It should still count for the achievement :praisesun:

I'm not sure if there's a specific mod to help with this exact thing, but you could always install one that makes you super strong to speedrun through the game
