I was able to achieve this with my town in 25 hours start to finish. When I acquired the springy duck toy I had 30 gourdlets. I added another 20 for a total of 50. I let them scamper around a little hedge area with a dock while I decorated my town. It took about two days of playing off and on to receive my lovely statue.
Some tips to reduce performance lag: in the seasons menu, pause the advance of the clock to daytime, and turn off weather and petal animations. You can also turn off water animations in the graphics settings.
Happy Gourdleting!
But how many groudlets you had when getting 100%?
