What Controllers?
The following controllers are confirmed working in Spin Rhythm XD with motion sensors:

  • Playstation DualSense
  • Playstation Dualshock 4
  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
  • Nintendo Switch Joy-Con
  • Steam Controller
  • Steam Deck

The controllers can be connected via Bluetooth or USB, as long as Steam sees it.
Before Starting the Game

Steam Input must be enabled.

A custom profile or any adjustments to the profile are not necessary, but you do need to have Steam Input enabled for this title.

Before starting the game, go to the controller settings to the right of the screen, opposite the "Start/Launch" button on the left side.

If the button "Enable Steam Input" is shown, click on it to enable it.

Check the game's settings

From the title screen, go to Options, then Settings tab on the top-right, and under the General heading, go to Input.

Go to "Use Motion Controls" and choose one of the "Yes" options.

Different Motion Options?

The motion sensors have three axes of rotation, and Spin Rhythm XD allows you to choose one of those axes
  • Roll
Roll means leaning handles up or down like a see-saw, or pushing and pulling the handles away or toward if held upright.

  • Yaw
Yaw means turning like a wheel. Imagine a laser pointer out of the top of the controller (where the USB port might be) and its respective turning will translate to the wheel.

  • Pitch
Pitch is similar to an airplane; motion of the relative direction out of the top of the controller moves the wheel. More useful if the controller was held sideways.

Press the "Menu" button to go practice the new settings with the mini-track on the right.
Adjust the controls
By default, motion controls will move the jog wheel while the "Control Wheel With Motion" action is pushed down. This means that nothing should happen unless you push and hold a certain key, default is A or X.

The following settings need to be adjusted in the Steam Input Controller Settings for the game.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you're under the "Gameplay Controls" Action Set.

To change the button:
Find the button or trigger you want to map activate motion, and give it the command "Control Wheel With Motion" or "Use Motion Control".

To change the motion activation behavior:
  • Remove all "Control Wheel With Motion" bindings from the profile.
  • Go to Gyro, set Gyro Behavior to Spin Wheel (Touch).
  • Go to the Spin Wheel (Touch)'s settings.
  • Under Gyro, go to Gyro Activation Buttons. Here, you can select which button or trigger enables gyro if pressed, or the behavior can be inverted (gyro off if pressed otherwise it's on) or select None to have motion always control the wheel.

To invert the direction:
  • Go to the Gyro Beavior's settings.
  • Under Output, toggle Invert Output on whichever axis you want.

To combine motion axes:
If Gyro Turning Axis is set to Combined Yaw & Roll, under Gyro Yaw/Roll Contribution, move the slider of one of the axes you'd like to reverse to the opposite side.

IMPORTANT: Changes made then leaving Steam Input screen immediately should carry over indefinitely, but when no more settings need to be changed, Export your Layout when finished to ensure the changes will persist even when you log out of Steam.

Hi!
I can’t find the "Invert the direction" part, is it under Steam Input?
