The Case For A New Styx Game...
• Styx: Shards of Darkness and Of Orcs and Men ended with massive cliff hangers. So Cyanide Studios (the Styx developers) clearly intended to make more games.

• After 3 years of not posting anything, the Styx Twitter has suddenly started posting again. Maybe they are trying to get their social media presence going again in preparation for another game?

• The Cyanide Studios website has job listings that seem to almost guarantee that they are working on another Styx game. The Styx games take place in the same universe as Of Orcs and Men, so the descriptions are likely for another Styx game. Plus the use of the word "infliltration” makes me believe that these are for a new Styx game. Here is what the job descriptions say:

"an ambitious project under Unreal Engine 5: An Action-Adventure game in the universe of Orcs and Men, to be released on PC and next generation consoles."

"an upcoming cross-platform game, set in the heroic-fantasy universe "Of Orcs and Men"

"an infiltration-adventure game, under Unreal Engine 5 , in a heroic-fantasy universe, to be released on PC and new generation consoles."

The Case Against a New Game...
• Styx: Shards of Darkness seems to have had lower sales than Styx: Master of Shadows. So could making another game have diminishing returns?

• It has been a very substantial amount of time between now, and the last game. Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness only have 3 years between their two releases. It has now been 6 years since Styx: Shards of Darkness. Is the interest still there for another game?

• Blood Bowl 3 (a game that Cyanide Studios recently made) seems to be under performing. Perhaps a new Styx game would be too much of a risk? After all, it certainly seems like Styx: Shards of Darkness had less sales than Styx: Master of Shadows.

• While there are the job listings that seem to confirm a new game, those listings have been up for years. So I'm not entirely sure what to make of them.

Conclusion...
So while there currently is no definitive answer as to whether or not we will be getting a new Styx game, the evidence that I have compiled seems to lean more towards Cyanide Studios making a new game. The job listings being the single best piece of evidence for Styx 3 or Of Orcs and Men 2.

Styx: Shards of Darkness is my favorite game of all time, so I would absolutely love to see another game in the series. And because it is my favorite game, hopefully my "reasons against" are way off and there are only reasons for a sequel to happen.

I've been awaiting the next Styx game since the moment I finished playing the last 3 (OoaM, MoS, SoD). I loved them! The biggest for me were the characters (Styx, obviously #1, voice and all), the story, the music, the atmosphere of the world - and stealth! Got my fingers crossed ever since.

I honestly really hope they do make another game, Styx 1 and 2 are masterpieces

Even if they never make another game, though I hope with all my heart that they do, I at least hope to see some kind of decent conclusion for the story, be it from a novel or from a comic. Of course, a new game would be ideal, but I always hope for the best and expect the worst.

I do wish there is another Styx game in the future. The fact there are listings means they still are interested on doing a new game, though seeing how bad Blood Bowl 3 performed, I'm guessing they are taking all precautions to avoid losing more profits. If their next game also has a poor performance like Blood Bowl 3, then Cyanide could be in danger as a company.
