Introduction - must read!
Greetings strangers! You probably came here because God Mode refuses to start.
I have a crutch solution, but which will allow you to go through the game without problems, since the developers have gone cold.
=========================
I noticed that all my friends who upgraded their personal computers over the past couple of years have stopped running this game (infinitely loading and crash notifications) ... by going through the settings, changing the config file and studying possible problems, I found the only common difference from those who have no problems with the game!
This is the presence in the PC of a processor with energy-efficient cores - namely, the intel 12+ and 13+ generations (12700, 12700k, 13700k and others in these lines).
I think you already understood what I'm talking about - we need to temporarily disable energy-efficient cores at system startup and leave only productive ones! This will have virtually no effect on system performance as a whole. And although there are different ways to disable the kernel, both in Bios and software, I advise you to do everything from the windows configurator for the sake of simplicity, since it is generally easier and more understandable.
Disable energy efficient CPU cores!
Let's take a look at the 13700k processor as an example:
1. Go to the site intel[ark.intel.com] and drive your processor into the search - 13700k
2. Open its page and look at the number of productive and energy-efficient cores. (we multiply the productive cores by 2, since intel has Hyper-Threading technology, which makes two logical threads out of each physical productive core. In total, we get 8x2 = 16 productive cores and 8 energy efficient ones.
3. We need to leave only productive cores running at system startup! Go to start and type in the search "Run"
4. Enter msconfig
5. The System Configuration window opens, where we go to the section - "Boot"
6. Go to "Advanced Options"
7. And in the number of processors, we select the number of cores that you get productive (I have only 16 + 8 cores, so instead of 24 we set = 16), energy-efficient cores are always at the end, so they will no longer be used when the system boots.
8. At the suggestion of the system to reboot - reboot!
9. Run the game and see that everything works without problems.
10. You are great!

P.S. There should be no problems when you complete this game completely and delete it from the computer - just go back to the configurator and uncheck the number of processors, so all the cores will work after reboot, apply and restart the computer :)

=========================
I will be glad to evaluate the leadership and review in the profile! If you need to tell how many energy-efficient cores are in your intel processor - write the model in the comments!

Running a i7-13700K, skipped all the steps except setting # of procs to 16 and this worked to get me past the loading black screen

I have AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX. I specified 2 cores in the settings and the game worked like a charm.

I haven't been able to play this game for years, tried every solution and finally able to revisit this masterpiece thanks to you! even with an i9-10900KF it worked

I have a Ryzen 9 5900x, which doesn't have performance/efficient cores and this fix still worked. I just set it to 16 processors, so I think that might be the actual fix, not related to core type. Thanks for the fix

I'm glad it helped :)

Found a fix,
1. Go to the directory of the game:
("C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\GodMode\bin")

2. Search for the file called ("game.cfg") and open it with notepad.

3.Search in the file for:
VIDEO_SizeX = xxx
VIDEO_SizeY = xxx
and change de values (xxx) to your native resolution.
Also make sure that:
VIDEO_FullScr = 0

4.Search for:
VIDEO_IgnoreVidMemCheck = 0
and turn the 0 to 1 like this:
VIDEO_IgnoreVidMemCheck = 1

Note: If this doen't wrok, try turning the ("VIDEO_IgnoreVidMemCheck = 1") to 0 again, then start the game and after crashing go back and change to 1 once again.
