Toyota Aygo (Gen.2)

アイゴ（AYGO）はトヨタ自動車が欧州で製造・販売するAセグメント乗用車である。

欧州における市場拡大を図るトヨタが、Aセグメントに低コストで車種を投入するために、思惑の一致したPSA・プジョーシトロエンと合弁会社であるTPCAを設立し、2001年からフランス政府の要請から新型車を共同開発する運びとなり、開発されたヤリスよりも下のモデルがこのアイゴである。

ここでは2代目について紹介する。

2014年3月のジュネーブショーにて 'go fun yourself' のスローガンと共に発表。外装は日本の若者文化に起因しておりチーフデザイナーのナカムラ・ノブオによると鉄腕アトムと箱に入った卵から発想を得たとしており、若者受けを狙ったものだとされている。
初代に引き続きプジョー・シトロエンと3兄弟で生産はチェコで行われる。

2018年4月にマイナーチェンジ。

3/5ドアボディは、先代と同じくリアがガラスハッチになっている。エンジンはこれも先代譲りの直列3気筒1L・1KR-FE型で、改良により1psアップの69psを発揮する。

The AYGO is an A-segment passenger car manufactured and sold in Europe by Toyota Motor Corporation.

Toyota, which is trying to expand the market in Europe, established TPCA, a joint venture with PSA and Peugeot Citroën, who had the same intentions, in order to introduce models in the A segment at low cost. This Aygo is a lower model than the developed Yaris.

Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 with the slogan 'go fun yourself'. The exterior is attributed to Japanese youth culture, and according to chief designer Nobuo Nakamura, it was inspired by Astro Boy and an egg in a box, and is said to be aimed at young people.
Following the first generation, Peugeot Citroen and three brothers will be produced in the Czech Republic.

Minor change in April 2018.

The 3/5 door body has a glass hatch at the rear like its predecessor. The engine is also an in-line 3-cylinder 1L 1KR-FE type inherited from the previous generation, and it exhibits 69ps, which is a 1ps increase due to improvements.
