Achievements Guide: Shields Up, Stonewall, Impenetrable in Single Player
By Spielmann
Neither bots nor other players want to shatter their puny armies against your defensive 100 stack? Frustrated because you think you can't get these achievements without the help of others? Worry no longer. With the right settings and a little bot handling everyone can get these achievements on their own, just by their own skill, in Single Player.

What you get from this guide

and Shields Up, too.
In short
1. Create a Capital Conquest or World Domination Single Player game with expert AI and true random dice.
2. Dominate the bots, put them in 1 territory corners (or corners with just one of their territories bordering you and no other players) and reduce their remaining troops to 1 using single dice rolls.
3. Offer them the following possibilities to attack (in a Not-A-Capital-territory):
If they get 3 reinforcements: A 6 stack. (3-vs-6 13% Blitz Win Chance)
If they get 5 reinforcements (they have a capital): A 10 stack. (5-vs-10 12% Blitz Win Chance)
4. If a bot does one of these attacks (any other bots can just be eliminated), replenish your stack to 6 or 10 respectively and let them do it again next turn. Rinse and repeat. If they have a successful attack or use cards etc. just fix the damage done and try anew.
5. If no bot in the game does these attacks, bad luck, a new game with new bots it is.

Good luck! Godspeed!
Settings in detail
Map: Doesn't matter, works everywhere, your own choice.

Game Mode: Capital Conquest (makes it a little easier) or World Domination

Manual Placement: Doesn't matter, choose according to your own preference.
Card Bonus: With "Fixed" less can go wrong.
AI Difficulty: Expert (I haven't tried an other setting yet but I assume the easier bots behave differently and are not aggressive enough to do so desperate attacks as we need.)
Fog of War: Doesn't matter, but it's easier with "Off".
Blizzards: Doesn't matter, "On" may make it a little easier since there are more choke points and dead ends to corner the bots and guard them easily with fewer troops.
Dice Rolls: True Random!

Number of Enemies/Bots: The more the merrier! (as long as you can handle them and are able to win)
How it works
Not all bots are the same and act and play the same way.
According to the Risk: Global Domination Wiki[risk-global-domination.fandom.com] there are different bot "personas".

As far as I know, bots always attack using the Blitz Dice. It seems that most bots usually just make attacks when the Blitz Win Chance surpasses a certain threshold. Depending on bot persona and game situation this usually seems to be >75%, >50%, >25%. This is no good if we want to defend 15 attacks in a row since our chances of success would be negligible* and we would need dozens if not hundreds of tries.
* Best case of these: (100%-25%)^15 = 0,75^15 = 1,33% chance of Impenetrable.

However, under the right circumstances some bots will also make attacks with a Blitz Win Chance as low as 10% if left with no other option. That we can work with.
(100%-10%)^15 = 0,9^15 = 20,6% means on average we will need just a couple of tries till this defensive streak holds for 15 attacks of this kind.

I have not seen any bot ever do any attack with a Blitz Win Chance below 10% so I think this is the best we can get.

The method aims at finding a suitable bot and making him do one of these long shot attempts per turn. To be precise each turn the same attempt so we don't have to think about how many troops we need, always replenish to the same amount. The failed attempt eliminates the bot's reinforcements and it is back to 1 in the territory and will just repeat next turn. If 5/10/15 of these attempts in a row fail, we get our achievements (as long as no other remaining bot conquers something from you in the meantime).

Since we just have to replenish and add our other reinforcements somewhere else and we can fast-forward the bots' turns', we can do this quite quickly.
Examples with Screenshots
Step 1: Dominate the bots and put them each in a corner.

Step 2: Reduce them to one territory and use slow rolls/single dice rolls to reduce them to 1 troop.

Step 3: If they get 3 reinforcements, offer them a 6 stack to attack as your weakest point (not in a Capital territory, they change probabilities). If they get 5 reinforcements, offer them a 10 stack.

In the following screenshot we can see the results:

Situation after setting up step 1, 2 and 3 for yellow and purple. I already know that teal doesn't work from last round.

Yellow sadly doesn't attack the 10 stack. Purple's turn.

Purple did attack the 6 stack with its 3 troops! We have a bot we can use! \o/

Purple did attack the 6 stack and lost all 3 troops in the process. Purple is our guy.
Teal didn't use its 3 troops to attack our 6 stack last round, it doesn't have the aggressiveness we need. So we can just eliminate it. Yellow didn't use its 5 troops to attack the 10 stack either. But we keep yellow alive with its capital because we don't want to win yet.

Now we just replenish 5 to 6, put yellow in a box with our other troops and farm purple's attacks.

Notice: Not even the most aggressive bot will use 3 troops to attack a 7 stack (likely since there's a less than 10% Blitz Win Chance for it). Here even purple did not attack.

If the bot has a bonus and gets more reinforcements than 3, it should also work, the following should be the ideal stack sizes (with the smallest Blitz Win Chance for the attacker which is still above 10%):
4 reinforcements: 8 stack (12% Bitz Win Chance)
5 reinforcements: 10 stack (12% Blitz Win Chance)
6 reinforcements: 12 stack (11% BWC) (this was indeed the case in the game where I got my achievements, see below)
7 reinforcements: 13 stack (13% BWC) or 14 stack (10% BWC, might be to low/not work, if you find out, tell me)
8 reinforcements: 15 stack (12% BWC)
9 reinforcements: 17 stack (11% BWC)

Example: Blue holds Crete and gets a total of 6 reinforcements (3 minimum for territories + 3 for Crete) per turn. Every turn blue puts all of them in its only territory bordering an enemy (me) and is aggressive enough to attack 12 troops with 6 despite that having only a 11% chance of success.

Important notice: Sometimes the bot's attack WILL BE successful! Then you have to just reconquer your 6 stack territory and remove any remaining additional bot troops in the other territory of the bot. Maybe the bot can then also use cards next turn, there's nothing you can do about it. The method is based on probability and doesn't work that way that you defend 15 attacks in a row on your first try for certain. On average the bot will break your defensive streak 6 to 8 times before you get a successful 15 streak.Don't get frustrated by that. The method works in that way that you can get the achievements in a reasonable amount of time.
