when i press start it just takes me to a gray screen and doesent load

THANK YOU for this quick fix. I researched and installed a program from online that wouldn't run properly but then I tried this and it worked instantly. Some of the collectables would have been impossible to get otherwise. Upvoted. The car glitch thankfully has not happened to me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG, I've been trying to get the sound to work and doing this fixed it

As well as enabling Vsync, I turned on compatibility mode:



Right click in steam games list
select properties
select installed files on left
press "browse..." in top right
in the explorer window that pops up, right click on LEGOBatman.exe and select properties
go to compatibility tab
click "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select XP service pack 3. (only tick box in top group)
Select "run this program as administrator" (third tick box in second group)
Press OK

Try now. It no longer locks up when driving the car on the first mission and the game loads quicker. This works on other early LEGO games, e.g. LEGO Star Wars

my game does not freeze but i still watched the video for the fun of it :]

okay so vsync helped w the crashes but the car in the first level literally stops working completely and i end up not being able to move it. when its able to move it does not go up the ramp. on the verge of giving up but i wanna play so bad LOL

so its not just me that has the game freeze for a second every once in a while

i dont have a compatibility tab

my game crashes every time i play
