This mod adds the ability to build the improvement : Tipi to workers of every civilization, adding another Improvement option to the game that was normaly reserved for Firaxis scenarios.


Features:
  • Makes The 'Tipi' (From the Conquest of the New World Deluxe Scenario by Firaxis) available to workers of any civilization in normal games.
  • The AI will use the new Tipi improvement if it fits its flavor profile.
  • Import all original setting for the Tipi and adjust it for normal game pace:
    -The Tipi yield +1 Food and receives an additional +1 Faith when 'Horseback riding' is researched
    -The Tipi must be constructed on 'Flat Plains', with or without a feature (ex: a forest).
    -The Tipi wont destroy the forests when built.
    -The Tipi will remove jungles when built.
    -The Tipi cannot be constructed on 'Hills'.
    -The Tipi cannot be constructed adjacent to another Tipi.
    -The Tipi cannot be constructed on a ressource.
    -The Tipi requires the 'Trapping' tech to be constructed and gain a bonus when 'Horseback riding' is researched

Notes:
  • The Tipi was only present in the Conquest of the New World Deluxe scenario from Brave New World expansion given as a free scenario, months after BNW launch. With this mod, its now incorporated in normal games (BNW expansion still required).

  • Visuals and icons were properly referenced and Civilopedia is Up-to-date regarding this addition. (see screenshots)

Troubleshooting:

  • If you have a problem with a mod, the first step is always to test the mod alone before reporting any bugs.
  • All mods from all my collections are compatible together.
  • If you have troubles downloading the mod in game, it's a common cache issue, follow these steps to fix it:
    1) Unsubscribe The mod, exit steam and civ 5 completly
    2) empty your mod folder : C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
    3) Delete the 'Civ5ModsDatabase.db' file located at: C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache
    4) Restart steam, subscribe, restart civ 5.

Also notable are the yurts of Central Asia, which are very similar to tipis and are utilized around the world in modern communities just the same.

I use one, in Europe, and I'm no native.

I know about the discussion around that tipi evolution, but I'm sorry to say tipis became a modern way of living again, and could be considered as an equal to houses or farms for many people who chose to live a natural yet modern life.

Everyone nowadays can use a tipi. I have a permanent fully functional one in my garden for my kids, and my friends sleep there sometimes.
Which leads me to a suggestion: could you make those tipis of yours benefit of the same technology improvements than the regular farms? Like +1 near water or no water and so on...

For some reason my game no longer allows tipis to be built. This started with update V5. Is the V4 still available to test?
