I ended up using Dash Faction just to get past the submarine, but then launched the game normally right after I got the sub cause I don't like the updated HD text in the menus or differently scaled HUD elements or other little changes like that. The nice thing is Dash Faction (and probably Alpine Faction too) is a secondary launcher for the same .exe file, so I don't need to copy paste save files over to a Dash Faction directory or anything like that in order to "fix" them. The only issue I had so far running it vanilla on Steam in the year of our Lord 2025 was the submarine thing, and I already killed Capek so I don't see any more issues arising.

ty for this, was super confused on why it blew up.

ozoomaroo: You're almost correct on the cause - the game's timers speed up based on frame time. The script for the sequence causes the submarine to drop after a specific delay (2.75 seconds), but when the framerate is higher, the delay is reduced slightly, causing the submarine to drop before the crane has finished moving. The crane then moves through the submarine's collision mesh and destroys it.

It's definitely a bug :p

Well its not really a bug Whats actually happening is the game was only designed for 30 FPS and every pc is out puting at 60. due to the FPS balance it explodes.

This is an essential fix. ^^ Don't even try to play the game, especially the campaign, without it.
