Combat Achievements

I Feel So Funky
Get slimed by a charging ghost.

The earliest point in which this achievement can be unlocked is in the training sequence, in the Firehouse. Simply let either ghost slam into you and you'll be slimed. There are many possibilities to unlock this achievement throughout the game.

I Ain't 'Fraid of No Ghost!
Trap a ghost.

This achievement is unlocked in the training sequence in the Ghostbusters' Firehouse, after catching the tutorial ghost in the sub-basement.

Aim For the Flat Top!
Eliminate a creature.

This achievement is unlocked in the Hotel Sedgewick level, after you get attacked by the Candelabrum Crawlers while chasing Pappy Sargassi in the flooded hallways.

Total Protonic Reversal
Knock yourself down with your own weapon.

In order to obtain this achievement, you must cross streams with another ghostbuster's Proton Stream. Maintain the streams crossed for about 3 seconds and you'll see what looks like a Boson Dart projectile make it's way towards you, through your stream. Once the projectile hits you, you'll be knocked down and the achievement will be unlocked. You'll know when streams are being crossed because this process has a unique sound effect.

Users @Clearskies22 and @RobTFirefly have confirmed that this achievement can be unlocked by standing next to a wall and shooting a Boson Dart at it. Boson Dart Immunity upgrade might invalidate this method though.

Slam Dunk!
Slam dunk a ghost into a trap.

To obtain this achievement you must first purchase the Slam Dunk upgrade for your traps, which costs roughly $18,000. Then slam a ghost into a trap and the achievement will be unlocked.

Stasis Dunk!
Trap a ghost using the Stasis Stream

To obtain this achievement you must have access to the Dark Matter Generator. Use the Stasis Stream of the Dark Matter Generator to petrify a ghost, then throw a trap underneath it.

Slime Dunk!
Trap a ghost using the Slime Tether.

To obtain this achievement you must have access to the Slime Gun. Weaken a ghost and throw down a trap, then use the Slime Tether to connect the ghost to the trap. Once the ghost is captured, the achievement will unlock.

It's Slime Time
Use the Slime Tether on 15 ghosts.

This achievement requires the Slime Gun to be unlocked (Public Library level). Simply attach the tether to a ghost and then to another surface, then do this 15 times. Can be done with the same ghost.

I Looked at the Trap, Ray!
Recover 20 of your own full ghost traps.

This achievement will come naturally as you play the game. For me, it was unlocked somewhere in the Public Library level. Be sure to actually collect the trap after trapping every ghost.

I'm a Ghostbuster, Not a Doctor!
Revive your teammates 20 times.

This achievement will come naturally as you play the game. For me, it was unlocked somewhere in the Times Square level.
Storyline Completion Achievements

We Came, We Saw...
Complete the game on 'Casual' or 'Experienced' difficulty.

Are You A God?
Complete the game on 'Professional' difficulty.

The only noticeable differences between professional and easier difficulties is the amount of damage done to enemies and the amount of damage received. Other aspects like amount of enemies and property damage/money earned seem to be unnafected.

Some tips for a professional difficulty playthrough:

1.Always focus on ghosts/creatures that shoot projectiles.

2.Always destroy black slime portals as soon as possible.

3.Boson Darts are your friends for dealing damage to ghosts and large groups of creatures.
The Destructor

The Destructor
Complete the game with more than $3,000,000 in property damage.

This achievement can be paired nicely with a Professional difficulty playthrough, because ghosts and creatures can take more damage, meaning you'll automatically have to shoot more.

By far the best levels for farming property damage are Times Square because of all the vehicles and the History Museum because of the various antiques.

Property damage is always saved, even after dying. This means you can pick an area with valuable elements and just keep destroying it and then dying over and over, this however, is somewhat unnecessary.

Here is a list of areas where you are unable to increase your total property damage:
  • Public Library - Ghostworld section
  • History Museum - Sewers
  • Return to Sedgewick - Ghostworld section
  • Lost Island - Entire level
  • Central Park Cemetery - Entire level

This means that you need to have over $3,000,000 in property damage before going to the 12th floor on the Return to Sedgewick level, otherwise, you'll have to start a new playthrough.

For comparison, here's how much property damage I 'acquired' during a Professional difficulty playthrough, specifically for this achievement:

Firehouse - $5,825
Hotel Sedgewick - $85,323
Times Square - $2,644,566
Public Library - $65,611
History Museum - $477,421
Return to Sedgewick - $14,967
Lost Island - $0
Central Park Cemetery - $0

Total - $3,293,713

Nice Shootin', Tex!

Nice Shootin', Tex!
Complete the game with less than $100,000 in property damage.

This achievement is more easily tackled in a Casual difficulty playthrough, since enemies have less health, you'll overall need to shoot less.

Damage done by other ghostbusters does not result in property damage.

Property damage is always saved, even after dying.

Here is a list of areas where you are unable to increase your total property damage:
  • Public Library - Ghostworld section
  • History Museum - Sewers
  • Return to Sedgewick - Ghostworld section
  • Lost Island - Entire level
  • Central Park Cemetery - Entire level

Tips for minimizing property damage:

  • Only attack ghosts whenever they're far away from the ground
  • Don't use Boson Darts anywhere until the Lost Island level. (Only to make way for the Ecto-1 in Times Square)
  • Always try to run around and distract enemies while the other ghostbusters attack them.
  • Beware the Times Square and History Museum levels, since you can get over 100K property damage very quickly with only one small mistake.

For comparison, here's how much property damage I 'acquired' during a Casual difficulty playthrough, specifically for this achievement:

Firehouse - $518
Hotel Sedgewick - $2,857
Times Square - $32,000
Public Library - $3,599
History Museum - $1,939
Return to Sedgewick - $299
Lost Island - $0
Central Park Cemetery - $0

Total - $41,212

Edit² : Please update your guide :D Also in casual the black slime doesn't damage you when you walk on it. Youcan even stay in a big black slime puddle for minutes without anything hapenning, it makes the boss of Shandor Island very easy.
Miaa_ 9 Jul, 2024 @ 3:36am
Edit : Spawnrate of monsters is also drastically slowed down with difficulty. Youcan easily see it on Shandor island right after the Hedgemaaze when you need to kill some Black Slime Ghosts to open a door and some Black Slime Fiends spawn at the same time. You only have to kill a couple of them on casual while on hardenned difficulty you get overwhelmed all the time and have to kill a couple dozens of them

Higher difficulty definitely has much more spread and recoil on the proton pack. After finishing the game on Pro I went on casual to do the "less than $100k damage" run i ncasual and i'm absolutely stunned by how in casual it's literally a perfect straight laser beam with zero spread, recoil and deviating stream xD
Saying this bc you say that as fart as you know higher difficulty only increase damage dealth and taken, but it also has a huge impact on the recoil of beams

For “Are You A God?” is no new game needed.
Only a few checkpoints and the final boss needs to be replayed with chapter select + Professional difficulty.
What needs to be replayed is the first checkpoint in the first level (tutorial) until going into the elevator in the hotel + first checkpoint on each other level + the checkpoint for the final boss.

Works with the steam version too.

You might want to verify the integrity of game files. Right click the game in your library --> Properties --> Files --> Verify integrity of game files. This might fix the problem

I looked at them every which way but loose. And it still don't pop No guide i found ever mentions a certain order. So i'm thinking this is bugged for some people. So i might have to resort to making a vm installing steam then download sam so if it has viruses it will be contained in the vm unlock this and then delete the vm. This will be the only game i ever had a bugged achievement.
Brigg  [author] 8 Aug, 2023 @ 8:14pm
@YouDownWithO.P.P.? , you must look at everything in a specific order. You can earn every achievement in this game regularly, without using sam.

Can never get the one in the childrens library. I look at everything with the googles and nothing. Achievement must be bugged and not able to get this one. So you will have to use sam to get this one.
