Miasma Origin

Leírás
3.4.* ok
------

The base functionality of Miasma is pulled from the Starclaimers Origin from Alphamod 3.0 made by AlphaAsh, all credits for underlying code goes to him:

----------------------------

"This empire has a persistent effect on the galaxy spreading their tendrils throughout space. Be it nanites or spores, all star systems become infected and tainted marking them to their owners as the the hive absorbs the resources therein. However this makes the empire be seen by the galactic community as a natural catastrophe at best and a menace at worst."

"Upon completing surveying of a system, if that system has not been claimed after a year, a starbase outpost will be automatically established in the system at no cost. Once a system has been claimed with a starbase outpost, mining and research stations will be automatically constructed on appropriate orbital deposits, at no cost."

Effects:
Empire Sprawl from Systems: -25%
Claim Influence Cost: -35%
Starbase Influence Cost: -35%
Starbase Upkeep: -25%
Starbase Capacity: +15%
Mining Station Minerals Output: -10%
Monthly Influence: -2

Requires:
Gestalt Consciousness Ethic

----------------

I really loved the way the Starclaimers worked, but they felt extremely overpowered with the bonuses they had and were geared more work within the framework of the great, but difficult AlphaMod pseudo-total-conversion mod. So i stripped back the layers bare and left just the core mechanic, of claiming systems after one year after surveying them, and auto-filling them with stations.

I think the origin is mostly vanilla balanced. The mineral output from the mining stations should keep you at a -1 tech level comparatively to everyone else, and generally offset eventually the 'free' build costs while the wrecking -2 base influence gain will offset the free cost of claiming and long term easy claims to new systems. This makes influence as a whole to use for other things (reforming government etc) very valuable as it's barely trickling in and also limits diplomacy options significantly. (to note, you can still claim before the year is off, just that you'd have to pay the reduced influence cost instead of getting it for free)

The Origin plays as a strong starter as long as it can keep up momentum and not crumble under its own size, but it definitely puts a lot more pressure on the Explore/Expand in the 4X mantra, while also overextending you and putting you in sprawl extension and economic collapse if you're not careful. The bonus is a quick start, getting you to those choke points or juicy systems first that you want. Plays very well with Devouring Swarm.

I may want to make the auto-building of mines happen another year after the system is auto-captured, but that will take more work than just setting up this origin on its own.

Wow, that Origin looks like it would be quite crazy with the new Void hive civic in 3.9 :steamhappy:

"survey all" command, or, how to "own" the entire galaxy, in less than 2 years!
(pls laugh)

It's not really my code, it's AlphaAsh's from Starclaimers Origin from Alphamod 3.0:

@Cosmo: Hey there, do you mind if I could use some of your Miasma event code for a Halo Flood mechanic I'm working on? I'll be sure to credit you for it.

mines are now free very nice thank you.
However, see problems in the spread of empire size.
Could the modifier be increased so that the vast empire isn't an upkeep problem?
