Hello everyone and welcome to my guide about The Room 4: Old Sins. This guide will be about a full walkthrough of the game + some lore that you might have missed or wanted to reread. This is will be my 3rd guide ever made so please leave a comment if you have noticed something is wrong or needs to be corrected in any form. Also a note that nearing the end of the guide Steam didn't like it that I had added so many pictures and had a hard time uploading more so some bits I had to type more than show a picture of what I meant, apologies for that.

I hope this guide will be helpfull for you and good luck!

Note that this is the tutorial of the game, you will learn all the basic controls that you need to progress in the story. Its pretty straight forward and if you didnt have trouble with this part I suggest to just skip this part of the guide and continue with the main part of the guide.

The tutorial begins in the attic, after the first line the first tutorial tip will pop up. Here you learn that you can click and drag the screen to look around.

You are getting prompted to turn on the flood lights to do this you have to focus on a specific object you do this by double clicking on it.

The flood lights is broken and the game tells you, you need to get a screwdriver from your tool box, right click to leave your focus state and open the tool box. Within the toolbox lays your journal with all the information of the assingment

Pick up the screwdriver , you notice that every item that you pick up will be stored in your inventory seen on the left side of your screen. To use these items just simply drag the item to the area you want to use it on.

The Circuitry will be exposed here we have our first puzzle that we need to solve

The answer to this puzzle is that you have to click and drag the red coil on the right up to close up.

A beam of artificial light starts glowing from the lightsource as it gazes upon the dollhouse, open the door to gain access to the Foyer. There is one more step to do before we can enter it. The door is sealed by a barrier your character starts to talk about an eyepiece, you find this eye piece on the right side of the tool box, to uncover that eye piece you have to lower the handle and the secret compartiment will be revealed.

Some items need to be examined and ''unlocked'' so to say before it can be used, this is also the case with the Eyepiece. You can unlock this one by dragging the latch down that is at the backside of the item.
Use the eye piece on the frontdoor of the dollhouse, you will notice a strangely contorted corridor.
The Idea of this puzzle is to show you that some items can be moved while using the eyepiece, the solution of this problem will ofcourse be to move some of the objects in the correct place. I will place a picture of the solution below


In order to get this you have to:

• Center the chandelier
  
• Move the chair to the wall
  
• Mount the painting higher up on the wall

A compartiment of the dollhouse will open up to reveal the Foyer, use your eye piece again to gain access to it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Foyer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On the table in front of you there is the first lore book (see chapter Lore) and the first puzzle
Focus on the puzzle the game will automatically zoom in on a ring, spin it to open the secret compartiment.


Inside this compartiment there is a Brass Mechanical Coin examine the coin and make sure alter the shape of the coin by extending its blades completing like so:


The Brass Mechanical Coin fits on the front side of the box, drag the item there and it will open a lens on the side of the box. Use your eye piece again, you will notice a shape in the middle and what appears to be some sort of constellation. You have to use the 2 rotating rings in order to make the constellation fit with in that shape. Here is how I did it
This is the starting point:


What I did as first step is to turn the lower ring to the right so that the Constellation Shape is in front


As second step I then turned the larger ring until the constellation fit within the shape


After finishing this puzzle the box will reveal a family crest, go outside again and place the family crest on top of the front of the house, a seal will apear representing all the rooms of the house that we are going to explore.

After the revealing of the seal 2 stattues will appear in front of the house, 1 of a deer facing the wrong way and 1 stattue that is missing a piece. Zoom in on the deer and turn it so the 2 triangle will face eachother. this will open a secret compartiment within it a Brass Mechanical Coin just like the first coin examine it in your inventory and make sure the blades are fully extended.
Go back to the Foyer

Use the Coin on the backside of the box just like before, another lens opens up. Use the lens you will notice another Constellation puzzle. to solve it just like before use the 2 rings to line up the constellation with the shape.

What I first did was I turned the lower ring to the right until the constellation that I needed was in front.


As second part I turned the larger ring so that the constellation would fit the shape. An ornate metal plate will appear and the top of the box will open up to reveal the next puzzle within the foyer.

The first is quite simple make sure you turn the big ring to reveal the 2 buttons and press them


Now the second set of buttons arrives but this time there will also be a lock that blocks the panels, as a first thing I put the lock to the left and turn the device using the large ring, this way the blue rhombus shapped buttons will be uncovered, press them.


Now to unlock the squares you can rotate the ring back so that 1 square is uncovered, switch the lock and rotate the ring again so that both are uncovered.


After that the 3rd and last set of buttons will be revealed with a total of 9 buttons to press and 2 locks to work with.

as first I started with the triangles, you turn the big ring to reveal the first 1 and then move both locks to the other side so that the 2 covers fall down and reveal the 2nd triangle.


Now to the next set which will be the squares, makes sure to keep the locks on the same place as you left them just now and turn the ring so that the first square gets uncovered, move the lowest lock to the other side to reveal the 2nd square.

(I ran out off space here so the pictures are in the next chapter)

Now you only have to do the remaining blue rhombus shaped buttons, again keep the locks how they are turn the big ring again, this will reveal the first rhombus. Now switch the lower lock to the other side and turn the big ring again, now both rhombuses should be uncovered.


After finishing this puzzle a compartiment opens up revealing a Strange Artifact every time you pick one of these up it means you have completed the room you found it in, in this case the Foyer

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Before you go to the study we have to light up the backside of the house so we can access it. To do that you have to open the artifact that is now in your inventory, you do this by click and hold your cursor over it, it will reveal a miniature Swan Statuette . Place the Swan onto the left pillar it will open a compartiment it will give us a model lamp Place the model lamp to the lamp post on the right.

Now move to the backside were are going to unlock the study, to unlock the study look at the railing on the first floor there is piece missing, luckily the Ornate Metal Panel that we got from the foyer fits there perfectly, but the railings arent symmetrical to each other in order to open the study you have to make sure that the 2 railing pieces look symmetrical to each other. Here is how I have done it.


~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Study ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When you enter the Study you will see the 2nd lore book on the table in front of you, you can read it if you want the notes will be in the lore section of this guide, for now lets focus on the right side of the Study where you see a desk with a torn picture above it.

The first part to focus on is the bottom right corner of the desk it has 3 symbols on it with a ball, you have to place the ball in the sockets in the right order. the order is Nut, Sapling and Tree as you can see in the picture below.


This will open up the main part of the desk that has several puzzles and will take some minutes to complete, the first puzzle is on the right side where you have to use your eyepiece. you have to fix the broken prism, you can rotate pieces by clicking on them, here is how they should look like.


A new drawer will open, within this drawer is a small wooden top pull it open it shows some a placeholder for an item, that item is on the other side of the room within the safe you can grab it cause the safe is already open.


Inside is a Medallion use it onto the placeholder at the desk. You will aquire a Metal Piece notice that has a plus shape on its back. This metal piece fits on the gear a little bit to the left of where you found it. When you open it you will reveal the left side of the desk which also needs the eye piece to be seen, just like the reight side the left side also has a few prism that need to be correctly fitted. below are the solutions to the prism.


A new drawer will appear with on the right lower side a small section that can be openend to reveal a secret compartiment, a new little drawer will pop out and you have to press both buttons in order for you to use the handle. within that little drawer is a crank handle


The handle is used for the mechanics on top the drawer that you were busy with just now. I did the following to solve the puzzle, I first put the lower right blue diamons to the upper right one, to keep it there. I use the crank (with nothing on it) to move it to the left and I place the upper left moon on the hole of the arm.


After that move the crank again so that the upper left moon can be place in its place in the lower right. after you have done that slide the 2 blue diamonds down one will be placed above the moon and the other within the crank mechanism on the first spot.


Turn the crank again with the blue diamond to the left so it can be place in the upper left corner, move the lower left moon to the first hole in the mechanism.


As for the last steps turn the crank again so that the lower left moon can go into its place on the upper right corner, place the blue diamond from the lower right corner on the first hole in the mechanism and turn the crank again so that the blue can go into the lower left corner.


After completing this puzzle you will recieve a part of a model well using it means we can finally unlock the kitchen area, go outside.

Place the well onto the little hole on the bottom left corner of the backyard, now the kitchen will be unlocked.

From here on out the room swapping is gonna happen more often so I will use these little dividers to show where exactly I am at the time.

When you enter the room you can see the 3rd lore book on the kitchen table on the right that you can read if you want.

To proceed with the kitchen you have to go to the left side of the room there is a little grate with a Rod with a handle blocking an opening, take the rod and go to the kitchen bells mounted on the wall in the far left corner, use it there and zoom in on the plague below the bells and screw it loose you. A line of strange symbols appear perhaps check them out with your lens.


Play the bells correctly to the order that is givin you with the strange symbols. The order is a follows

Right, Middle, Right Right, Left Left

You will gain a Inkwell, which you can use in the Study Room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Study ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go back to the desk, on the right side there are some books and a star shaped base. You can place the inkwell there, more drawers will show up. There are 2 lids you can open on the upper one the left sigil is fixed and cant be moved and on the lower one the right sigil cant be moved. In order to solve this puzzle you have match the fixed sigil with its loose connected part.
Here are the pictures to the solution, this one is rather simple


A handle will appear with a Strange Enamel Object this item will be used later on in the game

In the last revealed drawer there is a groove on the side, use the little ball that you used the first time you came into the room and open a secret compartiment you will obtaina Fire Steel which is also an item that will be used later on in the game.

Ever noticed these markings on some of the desk puzzles?

Now that we unlocked them all you can place the items in the correct position so that the golden locks arent blocking the middle door from opening. When you open the panel your character will make a remark that is a strange aperture, use your eye piece and take a closer look to the desk mechanism on the inside.

Here is the puzzle of the desk mechanism, what I did as first step is to bring the upper cogwheel to the down right cogwhell and turn it so that the middle piece will go to the left.


Now I brought the cogwheel all the way to the left side and made sure that the lower piece would be in the middle.


Now bring the coghweel all the way to the right again and place the lower piece to the middle


Now bring the cogwheel to the upperleft corner and place the last piece in the middle


Now all you need to do is bring the cogwheel done in the middle and turn the mechanism, after you have done this you will recieve a Handle of a Model Pump

The pump handle can be placed near the kitchen, after you have placed the water starts flowing into the kitchen.

The water flows into the grate on the left so you can finally pick up the bottle that was laying on the bottom of it. Examine the bottle, you will find a Torn Picture is half a picture of a steam train the same as above the desk in the study, but before we go there lets take a closer look to the furnace in the kitchen. The left door can easily be opened revealing another puzzle where you need to use the eye piece. In this puzzle you need to make sure that the middle bits will not interfere with the blocks. for the first you can turn them like so:


The Furnace itself will open revealing a Small Wheel Now lets go back to the study

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Study ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Place the torn picture next to its other half and use your eye piece, a strange set of symbols will appear. we have to use those symbols on the upper piece of the desk.


Turn the dial in the order those strange symbols are shown, if you have done it correctly a model train will appear, but its missing a wheel.
Place the wheel from your inventory on the empty space. A metal arm will appear and its your task to place it on the correct spot, just make sure you turn the first wheel until on the second wheel the correct spot for the arm will appear. After you have done this a compartiment will open with in there a Small Stud . Exactly the same one that is missing from the back of the train. after placing it another piece of metal rod will appear. with a plus marking on it.
Go back to the front wheels of the train and place it there. 2 compartiment will open 1 is just a plate with a groove in it but the other is the metal grille, examine the grill and place it in front of the train. A compartiment will open with an L-Shaped connector notice that is has a triangle, place it on top of the groove comparitment that you have recently unlocked. The door of the train will open.
Use your eye piece and enter it, you will see 2 wheel you can rotate, rotate them until a structure is on the top side of the train


Drag the cilinder upwards and go back into the train. Use your eyepiece on the cylinders to find the secret message. see pictures below for the message

Go to the front and use the message that you just found, the cylinder will open and reveal a Winding Key Place the winding key int eh train so it starts moving, while the train is moving use the little lever below the train to lift a cogwheel so that the upper desk part will be opened, you will find the 4th lore book here together with a model chimney

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Chimney can be used to unlock the Curiosity Room to do so place it on its position on the roof on the front side of the house (just below the seal). Three pipes will rise, turn the dial until they are all 3 on the same lvl, now get your eyepiece and allign the picture depicted on the 3 pipes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Curiosity Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When you enter the Curiosity Room on the left side on a little table is the next kore book if you want to read them. There is a lot to do in the curiosity room but first lets take a look at the exhibition in the back, take the map piece which depicts the coast of Africa and place it on the correct place on the globe. Move the globe so that the recently inserted piece is below the lens at the top and use your eye piece. A tower will appear with a little light, the idea is that the light should go to the end spot.


Here is the order on how I solved this puzzle:


After completing this puzzle you will receive another map piece, this time of the coast of Chile. Do the same thing as before but this time a piramide will appear.


Here is the order on how I solved this puzzle:


After finishing this puzzle you will receive a Carved Piece of Wood which looks very similar to the one on the tiki head in the back of the room. Notice how the one in the left misses it mouth. Place the carved wood piece on the left, and adjust the tiki head in such a way that the 2 tiki heads look identical. A new map piece will appear, this time somewhere in the ocean. This time a pirate ship will appear.


Here is the order on how I solved this puzzle:


You will be able to pull open the globe to reveal the next puzzle, the puzzle looks a lot like laser chess, you have to get the laser from one tower to another I'll show the solution in the picture below.


This will give you the Anubis Mask place it in between the 2 tiki heads and you will receive a Gemstone place the gemstone on the left side of the exhibition where you also got the first map piece. You will get an Ornate Iron, examine it in your inventory, if done correctly you will receive a metal handle. Lets use it in the Kitchen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kitchen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Place the handle on the door right from the furnace, a mechanism will be revealed. place the Fire Steel that you had left in your inventory on top and turn the crank until the sparks light the fire begin. You will receive a valve handle place the handle on the pipe intersection on the left side of the room, and let the water flow to the right. Go back to the Study

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Study ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Almost done with the study we just have to complete the Steam circuit so that it reaches the last machine. Makes sure the steam will go into the circuit and open the first valve by moving the handle this makes sure that the steam will rise in the tank and lays down the next pipe part.


Next make sure the piece of pipe stays in place and then open the second handle.


Place all 3 the little pipes attached to the sphere to the left and then open the valve, that will let the system run and you will receive a pipe connecter


Put all 3 the little tubes upwards again and place the connector on top of it, lower the above pipe so the circuit is close and open the valve again so that the steam can go to the back of the room.


Turn both handles on the lower side of the machine to the other side so that it starts to spin. then switch the lever that is on the top side of the machine, the middle of the machine will open revealing a strange artifact thus comepleting this room.

In last chapter you've finished the Study and gotten a strange artifact. Examine that artifact, you will obtain a Moon Emblem you can use this item in the curiosity room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Curiosity Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go to the right towards the small pedestal, notice that its missing a piece in the shape of a moon. Drag your moon emblem towards it and a secret compartiment will open that will give you an Artificial Eye .
Go to the anatomic model and place the Strange Enamel Fragment and the eye within it and use your eyepiece.
Go back to the small pedestal and pick up the Model Weathervane this is an item that will open up a new room.

The Model Weathervane can be placed on the roof above the kitchen, now the only thing that you have to do with it. Move the weathervane towards the south so that a switch get uncovered, switch it and continue to do so with North, East and West. Now you have unlocked the Maritime Room.

When you enter the room the next lore book will be directly infront of you on the green table with some kind of radio next to it. There isnt much you can do at this moment but focus on the pot within the food elevator on the right side of the room.
Turn the handle and put on your eye piece, open the pot by removing its latches.


Lower the pot again towards the kitchen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kitchen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Open the pot that you have just unlocked, you will receive an Artificial Heart go back to the curiosity room.

Before you go back to the anatomic model to place the heart take a look at the poster of the heart on the left of the room and specifically look at the arrows. I'll post a picture of it aswel to make it easier.


Now move to the anatomic model and turn on the X-Ray, move the lens towards 3 spots on the X-Ray to reveal different symbols. The symbols are on the right hip, the left femur and the left tibia.


Remember these symbols, you will have to use them on the chest of the anatomic model to place the heart. Here the solution of this puzzle.


Place the heart in the middle and put the arrows in the correct way shown on the poster. and press the below to let the tubes connect to the heart.


The mouth and neck of the anatomic will open up. Go back to the Maritime Room.

Go to the back of the room where the box is and go to its backside. Clean the glass and unlock both hatches.


Move the cogwheels back until you can pick up the Small Propeller , now go to the small submarine that is on the left side of the room when you enter it and place the propellor on the backside of it. A hatch will open where you can go in when using the eyepiece.
Once inside open the box that says ''Mechanical Submarine'' and take the Metal Fin , now go outside of the submarine again and place the fin on the side. Move the fins of the submarine so that the submarine will be descending and go back into it.


Inside use the lever on the right side so that the grapple will hold on to the captain's door, now pull the door open by using the lever again. inside is the captains cabin with a new lore book and a Vacuum Tube Take is and go out of the submarine again and place it on top of the radio. Switch the radio on and turn the dial until you hear something else than static. Go back to the curiosity room.

Go to the anatomic model and adjust both dials where there was first his mouth, his neck will begin to print out coordinates.


If you have the coordinates you can return to the Maritime Room again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maritime Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go back to the captains cabin in the submarine and fill in the coordinates on the right. Look through the front window with you eyepiece and start moving towards a glowing symbol. The seal on the floor of the submarine will open up, use the grapple to pick up your nexxt item which is a Pendant with a map design Examine this pendant and retrieve the pearl and emblem from it. Now go outside.

Place the emblem on top of the incomplete crest of the world above the curiosity room, the chandelier from the foyer and the globe from the curiosity room will swap places.

Go to the chandelier and open it from the top an eye will appear, now put on your eyepiece and look at the arms of the chandelier. they all have arrows. Move the eye around and match the arrows with the direction the eye is looking. You will receive another strange artifact.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Open up the last received strange artifact you will obtain a Curiously Engraved Device , examine it in closer detail open up the mechanism, you will see a few images on top of the panels make sure that they all hold on to something that makes sense for example not the farmer but the grim reaper has the scythe. When done correctly you will obtain an Engraved Model Roof
We will use that roof to open up the next part of the house, place the roof on top of the wooden structure in the garden.

You can find the next lore book on a bench on the left together with a section of pipe , lets go back to the kitchen where we can use this pipe.

Place the pipe and let the water flow go back to the left agian, return to the garden.

Look at the watermill in the back of the structure, get the Metal Dial when there is an open space for you to pick it up.
Go to the main fountain and place the metal dial. you will now have to form the face on all 3 the columns. Her is how I have done it.

Go to the colomn closest to the lore book and make sure you place the head on it up side down.


Now go to the other 2 columns but only put in the upper part of the heads into the dials and start moving them again. so that they are at the top, now you can move in the lower parts and the puzzle will be complete.


This will open up the higher part of the fountain and another puzzle. in this puzzle you have to place the symbols in the correct spot, bare with me this puzzle was a bit confusing to take pictures off.

Begin by placing the stone with the circle up so that the symbol icon can be placed onto it. Then place the moon on its correct spot.


Then place the sphere in a way so that the ''D'' symbol can be on top of the stone then lower the sphere even more so that the circle can make its way down.


Lower the stone so that the ''D'' can go to the right and the circle can get on the stone and get on top.


Last thing to do is get the ''D'' symbol on top of its place.


A compartiment will open with in it a Piece of Intricate Ironwork with this go back outside and place the Ironwork outside of the kitchen, it will fall backwards into the kitchen and will be its last puzzle.

Turn the handle that is holding the ball and then turn the lower handle when the ball has fallen on top of it revealing a strange artifact.

Examine the strange artifact in your inventory, you will obtain a Mechanical Wooden Box . Examine it further so that the box will become a staircase for you to unlock the next room. You can place the staircase on the backside of the house. You will unlock the Japanese Room

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Japanese Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On the left side on a chair next to the shelves that you have to investigate first lays the next lore book. Go to the left where there are some strangely set up shelves, I'll highlight what parts I mean cause these shelves can be a bit confusing.


Slide the left panel all the way to the right and then move the knob that was hidden behind it all the way to the right. after you have done that slide both panels all the way to the left that will reveal a Carved Brass Sphere after you got the item make sure you also turn the cogwheel on top so it turns a piece of the mechanism on the left.

*Note I forgot to add it in the picture but behind the panel on the right is also the 2nd cogwheel that you need to turn to reveal the item on the left*


Go to the octopus in the back of the room it misses an eye, place the Carved Brass Sphere in there and a part of the pagoda on top will be freed. Check th ebackside of the just uncovered part of the pagoda. Turn the 2 lower spirals until the metal pieces can be slotted in on both sides. You will receive an Ornated Wooden Capsule Examine it..

You will unlock section which the middle ones can be changed, but the last one cant. the trick to this puzzle is that you have to fill in the predator of the previous section. this will be: Fly --> Spider --> Bird --> Fox. Solving this will reveal 4 pins in the bottom.


Now go back to the strange shelves and insert the wooden capsule in there. You wil gain an Unfished Wooden Sculpture and a cogwheel that you can turn to reveal another piece of the mechanism on the left.


The Harpoon is now uncovered and can be picked up. Lets go to the Maritime Room and place it in the harpoon gun.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maritime Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lock and Load the harpoon gun so that you can shoot down the bell outside. Pick up the bell and return to the maritime room examine the bell. you will receive a cog with a handle. Go back to the metal box in the back of the room. Place the cogwheel on the left sided of the box. Notice the symbols on this side, you basicly have to make sure that this side will look the same as the other side of the box.


This will unlock the top part of the metal box, revealing another puzzle. (bear with me had a hard time explaining this one) first you have to lower the middle lock on the front of the box. then place. then turn the handle on the top a quarter so that the middle knob can be moved vertically, move the knob all the way to the top and turn it all the way so that the mechanism moves to the right. and you can open the right lock on the front of the box.


Now the rest is a piece of cake you just have to turn the handle completly twice so that the mechanism goes all the way to the left and you can open the left locker on the front of the box on which all locks have been opened. Inside is a little flint attached to a cable. Revealing yet again a strange artifact.

Open up the artifact and receive the parchment fan, go to the pagoda in the Japanese Room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Japanese Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the what looks like a door are a set of symbols place the fan there and open it in a way the symbols will match each other. Go back to the strange shelves and look on the right side there is a small section that you can pull out. Place the fan there and make sure the red beads will line up with the holes within the parchment. The middle lower shelve will open up. with on the right side a blunt knife. pick it up by turning the mechanism that holds it in place.

Go to the top right shelve and move the panel to reveal a clam, use the knife to open it and place the pearl inside so that you can obtain a circular metal casting. Go back to the pagoda. Place the unfinished wooden sculpture on top and place the dial on the left icon, a few pillars will appear where the circular metal casting can be placed. Now go back to the shelves that you have recently unlocked.

The trick for this puzzle is that you have to make a pathway to all 3 of the rooms and hit the gong within it, here is the first path you can take (Steam doesnt like me uploading so many pictures in a guide anymore, so bear with me and ask in the comments if something isnt clear)


You will receieve a Carved Brass Eye, pick up the wooden structure and go back to the octopuss and place the second eye. This will reveal the cage where the artifact is. together with a model spire. take the spire and place it on the roof on the front left side of the house to unlock the art studio.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art Studio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On a little stool on the left is the next lore book, but to progress focus on the bottom drawer on the left cabinet and pick up the Intricately Decorated Egg Notice that there is a fly on top of it.
There is a hint in the art studio telling you were to put it. you have to place it in the lower left shelves of the japanese room.

After you have put in the egg, you will receive another egg this time with a scarab look at the hint above the chair with the lore book in the japanese room. it will tell you to go to the garden and place the egg on the far right side of the bench.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Garden ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You will receive a third egg this time you have to look at the plague on the bench to see where the next one has to go. it is on the right side of the drawing board in the art studio.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art Studio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After placing the egg on the correct spot you will receive a Small Stone Carving this is the item we need to finish up the Garden, so lets go back there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Garden ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Place the small stone carving on the forehead of the statue in the back of the garden, a hidden compartiment will open up and reveal a small mannequin and the valve that you are going to need to turn the water flow. turn the water flow to the right and go to the first pillar on the right. These 3 pillars that you have to unlock all work the same, fire open up the middle mechanism by moving the cogwheel to the middle so that the pillar opens up. you then have to use your eye piece and have to make sure that you make the same emblem as you see on the pillar, here are they as follows.


A little water basic outside the fountain will light up use your eyepiece and make sure to use the 3 dials to make the same shape as in the background.


Then the only thing you have to do is dial the middle portion so that everything falls into place and you have solved fhe puzzle.

Open the strange artifact to obtain a Mechanical Cicada , examine it so that its wings are opened. Now go back to the Japanese room where you can place it on the table with the 2 dragons.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Japanese Room ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The cicada will move forward revealing 2 panels that you can use with the eye piece. Check out the left panel with the eyepiece, notice you can move the dragons neck now. Place the left dragons head over the box handle and go out of your eyepiece. Drag the dragons head down so that it closes and holds on to the handle. Now go back to the eyepiece and move its next so that the box is freed.

In the freed part of the tower that got revealed is a ring that you can turn. turn it so that the other tower is now in rang for the right dragon to open and do the same thing there. You will obtain a Miniature Pagoda Roof

Go to the back of the room and place the wooden structure again, this time let the dial go to the middle so that you can attach the Miniature Pagoda Roof on top of it.

Go back to the dragon table and place the newly created wooden structure on top of the box on top so that the entire table spin and you can use both dragons at the same time. Let both dragons pull up the handle, make sure after releasing the chains that you line up the boxes with the dragons on the same levels as the boxes behind. Turn the coghweel on the first box held by the dragons so that there will be a bridge between both boxes, and use your eye piece to get in there.

In there cross the bridge and turn the dials until the wooden beams arent in the way anymore for you to pick up the next item a Miniature Pagoda Roof and Spire . Pick up the unfinished sculpture and go back to the unfinished pagoda in the back of the room, now again place it there. turn the dial to the right and place the last piece on top of it. This will reveal the next puzzle of the pagoda.

This puzzle is a bit hard to explain with pictures but the basic idea of this puzzle is that you have to light up every piece by connecting. for example the first one I connected was red woodpieces. By doing so the piece that wasnt lit up lit up but not only that the piece exactly on the opposite will light up aswel. Here some pictures to hopefully make it more clear what I mean.


And then I'll show what happens on the other side while I connected these 2 above.


You have to do this for the entire tower. A tip for this puzzle is also that you can let those wooden pieces point up or down, they dont all connect to the one on their left or right. After you have done one colour the first windmill looking device will turn, you will open the cage if you have them both turning. Revealing the strange artifact.


~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art Studio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Open the strange artifact to reveal a Stained Glass Panel , Examine it and make sure it looks the same as in the painting next to the window. Next thing place the artist mannequin on the window just like the painting. Now go outside.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Place the Stained Panel on the empty spot on the house its on top if the Japanese Room. Now a part of the art studio can be turned, make sure you turn it so that the window is seeing the exact same thing on the painting. Go back inside the art studio.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art Studio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Use your eye piece on the painting, you will notice that there is a symbol that wasnt there before, fill in the infinte sign with your cursor and a Key with a Swan Motif together with another lore book will appear next to the mannequin. Use the key with the swan motif on the cabinet on the left, inside is another painting that you have to follow with your cursor. You will get a cutscene and at the end you can find the next strange artifact on the ground.

Congrats you have broken the seal you are very close to finishing this game!

Now the end starts, go through the opening that you have just created, you will enter the attic. Put on your eyepiece and look at the dollhouse, there are several room connected with portals and it is your job to get Edward who always spawns in the study to Abigail.

The first one is rather simple Abigail is in the foyer, just turn Edward around in his study so that he goes through the portal and ends up in the foyer than turn him towards her. Another seal on the dollhouse will be broken, go through it.

Here you have the 2nd puzzle, Abigail is now in the curiosity room. Here it gets more complicated because there are multiple rooms Edward can now teleport to. The order goes: Study, Kitchen, Curiosity Room.


After you have solved this one again go through the opened seal in the dollhouse.

Here you will have the 3rd puzzle Abigail will be in the attic this time, the order to solve this puzzle is: Study, Maritime Room, Curiosity Room, Foyer, Attic.


Once again re-enter the attic. Look at the page that lays next to the corpse. There lies half a piece of a Family Crest, now open the last strange artifact if you havent before and gain the other half of the family crest. place them both on the dollhouse. Pick up the Null and place it in your briefcase.

This is the first lore book you can find this one the moment you enter the Foyer, its on the table and has a green binding and the title ''Etiquette for Husband & Wife''




[ They are unloading apparatus by the cart load, and I see my husband transforming into a wide eyed child. ]

[ He hasn't been this animated since he left the Royal Institute. ]

[ The men work in silence and stand awkwardly in my presence. ]

[Heads down, silent. ]

[ They will not hold my gaze. They looks so desperate! I move aside, stay out of their way. ]

[ ''Why are certain men so threatened by women of intelligence?'' ]

[ ''They will warm to me as they come to know me, I am sure'' ]

[ The main thing is that Edward is working again ]

This is the second lore book you can find it in front of you on the table when you enter the Study Room. It has green binding and the title ''A Manual for the Steam Engine''


[ My wife calls, her voice rising up from the hall. Is it today? ]

[ So soon. ]

[ My mouth hangs limp as I watch my humble study transformed. There are entire faculties less well equipped. Some of the machinery I can barely name. ]

[ I remember to smile, remember to breathe ]

[ The target of my research is a curious thing: some newly discorvered element, the properties of which are ill understood. So rare. So valuable/ ]

[ I catch Abigail beaming and my heart lifts. ]

[ For once I can give her everything, but I must keep her from these people. The Circle is not to be trifled with, and my wife is a curious woman. ]

This is the 3rd lore book you can find it is on the kitchen table on the right as you enter the kitchen, the binding has a grey'ish colour and the title is ''Mrs Fawcet's Every Day Recipe''


[ I pause in a shadow on the landing as the raised voices reach me from below. Guttural threats drip with the promise of violence. Progress is slow. But why? I dont believe Edward knowws how to fail. ]

[ Their terminology is arcane! I piece together what little I can. These men are no scientists, and surely no gentlemen. Why did we invite them into our house? ]

[Finally they leave. I must find Edward, but... am I lost? I get turned about twice just finding the study. My father's study. A door I spent my childhood with an ear pressed against. Now I can't recognise it, except for the sense I get of what's behind. ]

[ Like a darkstain in the world. ]

This is the 4th lore book you will find it in the study after finishing the train puzzle. it has a blue'ish binding with the title ''Applied Mechanics Handbook''


[ I underestimated my clients. The Null element is nu curio. ]

[They underestimate me also! This is my calling. I feel its embrace, and I am whole. ]

But how am I to progress with this insufferable racket? With each month of work Abigail trusts less, pries more. ]

[ I changed the lock, and she beats relentlessly on the door. She pleads constantly,warning me of danger. ]

[ Of course there is danger here, sweet wife. There is everything here, for there is nought outside! ]

[ I wanted only to give you everything you dreamed of, but with this? With this I can give you so much more. ]

This is the 5th lore book you will find it on a small table on the left when you enter the curiosity room. It has a brown binding and the title is ''Compendium of Curiosities''


[ My husband is a stranger now. Tat man in the study is not him. What is this place? Was it once my home? It twists and writhes. ]

[ I retreat to the attic, my childhood refuge. The dollhouse that Father built was a world within a world. It seems so fragile now. So tiny. I see the crack in the floorboards. ]

[ I remember spying on Father in his study. It is my husbands now. It takes a while for my eyes to adjust, to make out his bunched form. He works as if in a trance. I copy symbols, sketch apparatus, record all I can. I still have friends at the Royal Institute. They will hear of this 'Null'. ]

[ Oh, Edward. ]

This is the 6th lore book found in the maritime room on the green table next to the radio directly in front of you when you enter the room. It has a black/grey'ish binding and the title is as follows: ''Small Submarine Handling Manual''


[ I know by feel that this letter is different. The endless demands for progress are light. This has weight. Terrible, omnious weight. ]

[ I watch the contents spill across my desk. The detailed notes. The sketches of my apparatus. There is no mistaking the artist. My wife and betrayer is herself betrayed by her own hand. ]

[ Poor, naïve Abigail. How could you possibly believe The Circle would not be watching? ]


[ They have me now. ]


[ There will be no more delays. ]

This is the 7th lore book found within the captains cabin in the submarine that is situated in the maritime room. The book has a black/ grey'ish binding and the title is as follows ''Ocean Navigation a Concise Guide''


[ I find Edward in Father's Curiosity Room and it is like the sun dawning. I feared he would never leave that study again. ]

[ I see the pages in his hands. Crumpled, torn, unmistakably mine. I try to explain, but his eyes look clean through me. ]

[ I warn him, plead with him, but he is deaf to me. ]

[ He says I have betrayed him. I have damned us both. Destroyed his work, both our lives. ]

[ I can sense it thoughout him now. The wrongness, the taint. I felt outside the study door. In this moment I know my Edward is gone, and no help is ever to come.

[ I have only one choice. ]

This is the 8th lore book found within the garden on the benches on the left. It has a grey'ish binding and the title is ''Formal Garden''


[ My stomach lurches me awake. Something is not right. ]

[ The world feels different. ]

[ I rush to my study. The door lies open. This can't be happening. ]

[ My world is snatched from me! ]

[ She has taken the Null! ]

[ Oh, Abigail. Dear, sweet Abigail. Now is not the time for trembling hearts, not when we are so close. I will come to you. ]

[ I will make you understand. ]

[ You can't have gone far. Not alone. Without containment, it would... ]

[ Oh, God. My Abigail. ]

This is the 9th lore book found within the Japanese Room on a chair on the left when you enter it for the first time. It has a brown binding and the title is ''A History of Japan''


[ My mind blisters. I can't. ]

[ It has the house. IT warps everything. Edward. ]

[ How could you. What is this? ]

[ I can't ]

[ Mazes within mazes within mazes within mazes within... ]

[ Oh, god, it burns. I have to get it away from him. ]

[ If I can distract it. Feed it something else. If I can buy a moment. ]

[ I can. Get out. I can. ]

[ Fetch help. ]

[ I can. ]

This is the 10th lore book found within the art studio placed on a stool on the left side of the room when you enter it. it has a green book binding and the title is: ''Oil Painting Advanced Techniques''


[ Where are you hiding, Abigail? ]

[ You've turned the house into a maze.It must still be here. I can feel it. Everwhere and nowhere at once. ]

[ Why would you betray me when we are so close? ]

[ I want only to share this with you. To restore your family status and pride. ]

[ Why do you fight me? ]

[ You are still here. I can taste you. I will rip this house out from under you, with my bare hands if I must. ]

[ I tear through your sculptures, imagine I am tearing out your heart. ]

[ You shan't stop me, Abigail. ]

This is the 11th lore book found within the art studio after you have done the painting puzzle, it is place next to the mannequin in the windowsill, it has a green binding and the title is ''Principals & Fundamentals of Perspective''


[ The air hits me like a wall of ice. I prop myself against it and drive my legs forward. ]

[ My eyes are fixed on the garden gate, my shoulder turned hard against my home, my husband, my life. ]

[ I know if I look back now my strength will abandon me. ]

[ Each step comes easier than the last. I feel the madness retreat like a dispelling dream, sense the dark creature at its heart. ]

[ You may take my husband, but you will not take me. ]

[ I pause with my hand on the cold iron. All within the houseis darness now. ]

This is the first of the lore pages you will encounter in the attic after you have broken the seal.


[ Abigail! ]

[ If you are hidden, reveal yourself. Perhaps together there is still hope. Never again will I threaten you. I feel better now. I can see clearer. ]

[ The house is not itself. I'm leaving a trail of notes, but they amount to little help. ]

[ Occasionally I stumble on a note I swear I have yet to write. If you see me, tell me stop and rest. You were always the one who made me rest. ]

[ Edward ]

This is the 2nd lore poage written by Edward, found near the dollhouse.


[ Abigail, ]

[ Door open to brick walls, stairs lead nowhere. The house shifts and coils. I have searched this labyrinth for days. ]

[ Always I am led back here, as though there is still something I am to learn from these walls. ]

[ You were right. You were always right. If you find a way out do not hesitate to take it. Do not wait for me. Do not look back. ]

[ I am forever yours, Edward ]

This is the 3rd lore page written by Edward found near the dollhouse


[ The books. They are filled with our thoughts. The entire library. Month upon month of our lives. ]

[ I have witnessed my own madness first hand. The ramblings run for pages. I see now how terrible it must have been. I have read a book about me reading the book I am reading. A strange sensation. ]

[ I know that you are no longer here. I have read your escape. Thank god you are safe! My remaining hope is that one day you will return, to find and read my apologies. I will keep writing for you for as long as I am trapped in this hell. ]

[ I am sorry, Abigail. I am sorry. ]

This is the 4th and final lore page written by Edward.


[ I can search no longer. There is no point. I am a rat in a cage, but only now do I finally see the bars. ]

[ You saw it, Abigail. You saw through it from the start, felt it worm its way through the house, our marriage, our lives. The dollhouse! You fed it the dollhouse. Quite brilliant. It is you The Circle should have engaged, not I. ]
