General Mechanics & Stuff to Know
Paradise Killer is an open-world detective game and it really doesn't hold your hand. You're thrown into the thick of it pretty quick. I very quickly got overwhelmed by the sheer number of things I suddenly had on my to-do list. DON'T PANIC. There is no time limit, there is no deadline. Take your time, explore, talk to people at your own leisure.

The basic controls for the game with keyboard and mouse are WASD, jump (space), crouch (C), and sprint (hold shift). You'll also be introduced to AR Mode (hold down CTRL) early on. This lets you see where characters are located and where the crime scene is. This is handy for getting around, especially when you've got no idea where you are.

This handy little laptop is Starlight, your Investigation Assistant. This is where all of the relics, quests, evidence, and info you collect is stored. You can access Starlight via the TAB button.

Nightmare Computers are located all across the island and usually block you from entering areas or contain crucial information. Unlocking these involves a puzzle where you must combine shapes to match a random image. You start the game only knowing Goat symbols and you'll have to unlock Starlight upgrades for Cosmos, Pyramids, and Worship symbols.

This handsome devil is Shinji, and he is everywhere. I'm not 100% sure if talking to him in every location gets you anything special, but why not talk to him? He's hilarious.

Whenever you see one of these pink boxes, SAVE! There is no auto-save and while there's no real way you can die, it's still good to save when you can.You can also use Blood Crystals, the currency of the game, to unlock fast-travel locations. While you don't need to do this right away, I'd buy a couple in locations you find important.

These are Blood Crystals, the currency of the game. Shinji has generously scattered these across the island just for you.

Relics are also scattered across the island. These offer lore, random entertainment, and some give extra information to use in your case.

Vending machines seemed like a waste of Blood Crystals to me originally. But you should go ahead and buy from these when you can. Trust me. You need to for a Starlight upgrade.

These are radio towers! You can get some sexy new tunes from these bad boys. There are 16 songs total so it's worth it to grab them when you see them!

It's tradition to offer blood at these little temples. At 1 Blood Crystal each you may think it's a waste, but if you're like me, you want those sweet sweet relics.

Foot spas were not something I saw originally and said, "Yes, I will spend 5 Blood Crystals on you!" Do not be me. Invest. If you'd like to know why you should invest, check out the spoilers after this. You unlock double jump, air dash, and meditate with these spas. Meditate lets you see the locations of all secret/hidden objects, including Shinji, relics, and Blood Crystals.

Additional Notes!
There have been some really great comments that I'm adding here to ensure everyone sees them!

from @TheMoonRoom - Keep 15-ish blood crystals in reserve as you play and don't be afraid to spend anything else you have. The game definitely has enough blood crystals for you to get everything and then some.

from @Trick and @JKC - I'm putting these two together as they're fairly similar. Basically, spending blood crystals to unlock secrets from any character is a great idea. It's part of the story and isn't considered a cheat. Hanging out with characters will eventually unlock important clues to help your investigation too!

from @PinkShades - If you ever find yourself stuck due to some adventuring gone wrong, hold down 'R'. It will respawn you at the nearest phone booth!

If any info is wrong, please let me know! This is my first time posting a guide and I'm planning to do more for Paradise Killer!

Yeaaah, I played 10 hours in without using the foot spas and just parkouring a majority of hard to reach spots, while thinking things like, "This game is amazing, but it'd be be really nice if it had double jump or something."

Thanks for these tips! There was a couple I wasn't aware of.

I'm a few hours into the game, and I wish I had gone talk to Grand Marshall Akiko earlier. She's the one who will tell you the basics of the crime; everyone else will fill you in with details assuming you know the main facts, which was overwhelming for me.

Thanks for this. It does help a bit since I'm a newbie to this game. And you wrote this little guide without doing any spoilers. That's even more great :)

how long finish it without guide?

@Zanoth No it doesn't. Exhausting every dialogue option is important as it will unlock new avenues of evidence to explore. You're safe to interrogate as little or as much as you want!

Does talking to suspect about evidence before the trial negatively impact anything?

@PuroWaffle I don't think there's any way to truly softlock yourself. You can get to every location without fast travel if you want to. Fast travel is more of a convenience thing. If you're constantly collecting blood crystals you'll have more than enough to do everything you need as well as unlock and use fast travel points. Plus, if you're going for achievements, you'll have to unlock the fast travel points to get new Starlight skins.

Fast travel seems like a scam to me! You spend 1 blood crystal to unlock it, but then spend 1 blood crystal every time you use it? There are finite crystals! Why would I EVER use my hard earned blood on getting around and potentially softlock myself?

The one thing I regret is not using the 'hanging out' with people option earlier. I didn't realize this option would allow me to improve relations with them so they'd be willing to share secrets.

I didn't find the foot bath for the air dash, either. It isn't really required for anything, though. The double jump is sufficient to get every relic/crystal, I think.

I finished the game with 83 crystals left. I did not buy every drink, though and I'm quite sure I didn't convict the correct persons for K.HX and Grace's murder. I believe I solved everything else.
