Custom Resolution
Before getting started into this game, you might wish to change your resolution by going into the "Setup" and changing your "Video Mode" to your native resolution. If your native resolution does not appear and you want to customize it, open a blank "Notepad" or equivalent program and type or copy and paste the following on the Notepad / other program:

seta r_customwidth "XXXX"
seta r_customheight "XXXX"
seta cg_fov "XX"

seta r_mode -1
vid_restart

Where the "XXXX" is where you will type in your width and height values in, without the quotation marks (" "). For example, if your resolution is 1920x1080, it would be:

seta r_customwidth 1920
seta r_customheight 1080
seta cg_fov 90

seta r_mode -1
vid_restart

After you have typed or pasted this into "Notepad" or a different program that works the same way, save it as "autoexec.cfg", without the quotation marks (" ").

Copy and paste the autoexec.cfg file into the base folder inside of your GameData folder in the Jedi Outcast folder. (Jedi Outcast > GameData > base)

**NOTE**
If for any reason your notepad or equivalent will not save in the correct file format (.cfg). All you have to do is copy and paste another cfg file, such as jk2config, open it up with notepad and delete all of its content. Once you have done this, proceed with copy and pasting the text and then save it into the base folder of your Jedi Outcast.
Difficulty Settings
When you click "New" in the Main menu in JK2: JO to begin a new game, four difficulty options of playing will be made available to you, these options are:
  • Padawan
  • Jedi
  • Jedi Knight
  • Jedi Master
Padawan is entitled with "Easy game settings." when selecting it from the NEW menu. It is the easiest mode in the game and would only really be suggested when a player only wants to play for the storyline, not much of a challenge, finding the other difficulties to challenging, new to the game or new to first person shooters in general. You start off with 100 Health and 100 Shield. Your maximum health in this mode is 100 and your maximum shield is 100. Recommended Mode for new players or storyline only players.

Jedi is entitled with "Normal game settings." when selecting it from the NEW menu. It is the normal / medium (between Padawan and Jedi Knight) mode in this game. Its the most suggested mode in the game, offering a decent challenge for newcomers. You start off with 100 Health and 50 Shield. Your maximum health in this mode is 100 and your maximum shield is 100. Recommended Mode for new and / or experienced players.

Jedi Knight is entitled with "Difficult game settings." when selecting it from the NEW menu. It is the second hardest (between Jedi and Jedi Master) mode in this game. It is suggested for players who want a challenge when playing the game. You start off with 100 Health and 0 Shield. Your maximum health in this mode is 100 and your maximum shield is 100. Recommended Mode for experienced players.

Jedi Master is entitled with "Extremely difficult game settings." when selecting it from the NEW menu. It is the hardest mode in this game. It is suggested for players who want the best challenge this game can offer them. You start off with 50 Health and 0 Shield. Your maximum health is 50 and your maximum shield is 100. Recommended mode for experienced players who want the most challenge in this game.

SUGGESTION: In the main menu, select CONTROLS and navigate to QUICK KEYS in the CONFIGURE and bind "F5" to "Instant Save". When playing the harder difficulties, you may have to save many times to keep your current progress. This will save you time. "F9" will already be binded to "Instant Load" for you, making it quicker for you to load.

NOTE: You cannot change difficulties throughout the single player storyline. Make sure you make the correct decision based on what you want before you start making progress into the game.

Walkthrough - Intros and Getting Started
After you have selected NEW from the main menu, select your difficulty (Padawan, Jedi, Jedi Knight and Jedi Master) and click BEGIN GAME on the lower right corner.

You begin the game with a regular Star Wars Intro which includes some background information of the prior Star Wars game of this series (Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith). After that a Intro Cut scene pops up with Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors talking on there ship. If you wish to skip this cut scene, press "Ctrl" on your keyboard for PC or the "Command" button for Mac.

Once you have viewed or skipped the Intros, you can then begin your first mission: "Kejim Post".
Walkthrough: First Level - Kejim Post - Part 1 of 3
You begin behind a space shuttle with Jan Ors in front of you. Jan will say "Kyle, Shh, I think I saw someone." and then she will walk towards a crate-like object and crouch when she reaches it. Jan will follow you around after you move of course. Ahead, you will notice two Stormtroopers discussing with each other. You can initiate on them whenever you wish to. But if you wait for it, there conversation will expire shortly after and the one who walked over to the other will return to his original position, allowing you to use a fully charged shot from your Bryar Blaster Pistol (by holding down the right-mouse button until it seems fully charged) then shooting it at one of them, if that shot kills either one the other will not notice, giving you the chance to kill the other without confrontation (in some circumstances).

To your left of where you spawned from the start of the mission will notice a door that opens when you approach it, proceed into it. When you enter the room you will see a container that is sticking slightly out from under the first shelf on the right, jump on top of it and then jump forwards again and you will be on top of the first shelf, from there jump on to the first crate on top of the right side shelf, then from there you can leap to the top shelf. which will contain your first Secret Area in the mission. This secret area contains a BioTech Bacta Canister and Batteries. Once you have dropped off the top shelf platform, you will notice a small part of the room has two little shelves which contain three Blaster Pack ammo and one Med Pack, you will also notice two blue laser lines in front of them that when triggered (by stepping into the blue lines) will detonate both of the explosives devices that they are being emitted by, to remove them safely without any lose of health or shield, step outside of the room, keeping the door open, and shoot them at a fair distance away that still keeps the door open and it will safely detonate the explosives without harming you. Return for the Med Pack later if you need it, otherwise just take the Blaster Pack ammo when you are done dealing with the Stormtroopers and the mines that you had to use ammo to deal with.

Continue forward from where the two Stormtroopers were located and pick up the E11-Blaster Rifle, note that both blasters (Bryar Blaster Pistol and E11-Blaster Rifle) use the same ammo pool. Also beware of falling down the map, it will result in a death scene and a MISSION FAILURE. When you are ready, proceed down towards a catwalk-like area which will have a Imperial Officer walking on it asking "Is someone there?" as you or he turns the corner. If you want you can charge your Bryar Blaster pistol and take him out or use your newly equipped E11-Blaster Rifle and hold down the auto fire (hold down right-click) to take him out. Also a perfect opportunity to use your Stun Baton weapon (I suggest doing so or at least trying it out before you retrieve your Lightsaber , which will remove this weapon from your inventory). After taking out the Imperial Officer you will proceed and confront a fair few Stormtroopers, with one located on top of the balcony above you, after you have taken all of them out, Jan will attempt to shoot the door down with her E11-Blaster Rifle, after failing in her attempts she tells Katarn that Blasters won't be enough to bring the door down, your character (Kyle Katarn) will tell her to wait as he goes to fix the situation by finding another way to blast the door down.

Facing the direction left to the huge doorway is a area which a few Stormtroopers will come from to stop you, deal with them and head to the door from which they came from. In the right of the room is a Green Generator which will give you shield for as long as you have less then maximum shield. To use it hold down the key on your keyboard that is bounded / binded to "Use" in the CONTROLS menu, it will be under ATTACK/LOOK. Once you have your shield full, proceed to the facing opposite to the Green Generator and you will find a Imperial Officer with a E11-Blaster Rifle that he will shoot at you. Once you have dealt with him, pick up the Supply Key that he has attached to his uniform by walking over his body (you will know whether or not you received the key by the white text saying you have got his key, and also by switching through inventory items you should be able to see something saying "Supply Key"). To the right of the room that you have entered there will be an elevator (which can be used by flicking the switch with the "Use" button) that will take you to the top floor, back to the room you were in, then to the bottom room underneath you. Take the elevator up, wait for it to take you down again to the room you were in with the Imperial Officer, then the elevator will take you to a room that goes further down. Before proceeding into the room, beware of a sentry turret that is positioned right and above of you, attached to the ceiling. The sentry turret takes a second or two before it can start shooting at you. Equip your Bryar Blaster Pistol and use charged shots with it to two shot the sentry turret. Note that you can corner shoot sentry turrets without them ever becoming aware of you. Once you have finished taking care of the sentry turret, proceed to the left of the way you came from and you will see a security like door that opens upwards in a sudden motion, inside of that room you will see a supply container that you can open with the Supply Key you acquired from the Imperial Officer's body, were you see the Red flashing light is where you can open the container by pressing the "Use" key. Now that you have unlocked the container, it will slide open and let you obtain a Bacta Canister by walking over it.

After you have received the Bacta Canister, leave the room and go back towards the elevator and take it to the very top floor, once you have done that, take a right turn into a room with a skinny, narrow elevator. Flick the switch and go up to the control room, at the end of the room you are facing, you will see a control panel with a picture of a Blaster Turret. "Use" it and it will start a cut scene with it saying "Perimeter Defenses Online". and the Blaster Turret will start blinking red, this will now also start a alarm for a few seconds and also cause a couple of Stormtroopers to attack you once you have gotten back down to the top floor. After you have taken them out, proceed down the elevator to the middle floor and go back to where Jan has been waiting for you, once there, hop on to the Blaster Turret by pressing "Use". Then redirect the turret by rotating it to the huge doorway and start blasting at it till it explodes and crumbles to the ground. You can now hop off the turret and proceed to the huge doorway, this will give you a new checkpoint for your game as you enter it. Once inside the room, the floor takes you down as a giant elevator until you reach a door. Get near the door but do not enter it. The elevator will go upwards to where it originally was and you will go down under to the floor beneath you and well lead you to a Orange Canister that will replenish your ammo, as like the Green Canister does for your shield. Go inside the door that you now have available, you will see three tubes with blue stuff running through them. To your left of the corridor as you enter you will notice a power generator with sparks of electricity running off from it, if you enter that room while the sparks are continuing you will perish as you try to make your way around it. To safely enter the room with the power generator, you must first destroy it using one of your Blasters. Once you have destroyed it, it will erupt and kill you with flames if you are in its path down throughout the corridor. Destroy it from the doorway you entered from with a charged shot from your Bryar Blaster Pistol, then retreat from the flames.
Walkthrough: First Level - Kejim Post - Part 2 of 3
Once you have destroyed the generator and allowed the flames to pass by you, proceed into the generator room and go up the elevator located around the generator, it will that you to a room with a grate that you can destroy by shooting at it, once you drop down into the room the grate was blocking off, you will confront with a Imperial Officer, deal with the officer and take his key by walking over his body. When you have finished doing this, flick all four of the switches in any order. Once you have done that, Jan will come through the door you unlocked. Jan will be staying with the Primary Control Console while you scout ahead. Now that Jan is doing her task, leave the room and take a right to the door that does not lead to the generator room. When you enter you will be greeted by a few Stormtroopers, deal with them and pick up your first explosive devices (Thermal Detonator) behind three crates, this room also contains a Small Shield Booster and Batteries. When you have finished in the room, proceed to the door you have not entered yet. Once your inside you will have to take out a fair few Stormtroopers, then proceed forwards ignoring the door on your left as you came in for now. Now that you are in the room, you will hear and see a Power Droid type machine strolling around, I suggest keeping it alive as it will give you an endless supply of Batteries, which will be useful for your upcoming task.

Explore the room you have entered and you will see a container with a flashing red light inside of it you will either find a Bacta Canister or Light Amplification Goggles, if you do not find the Light Amplification Goggles inside, jump the container and jump on to the crates, on top you should find a device, which will be the Light Amplification Goggles. Once you have finished getting the Goggles, switch to it in your inventory and head down the elevator located in the room you are in. When you have gone down the elevator, you will be in a pitch black room with little visibility of your surroundings, turn on your Light Amplification Goggles and proceed ahead around the crates, you should also be able to see in the space of the room that has four little shelves that holds up two Medpacks and six Blaster Pack ammo, this area is classified as a Secret Area once you walk into the close proximity of the shelves. Continue around the crates once you are done and you will notice a section of the wall is not there, walk through the section and you will see a light with a little door that you have to hold down Down/Crouch to get through, turn off your Light Amplification Goggles and enter the door, once inside you will meet with a Imperial Officer and around four or so Stormtroopers, deal with them and explore the room. In the room you will find a Blue Imperial Code and three switches, two of them (Green and Red) are turned off and will need to be turned on to proceed with the mission. Once you have walked up to the Blue Imperial Code on the wall, you will notice that your Datapad has been updated. Note that you will have to either remember what the Blue Imperial Code looks like, draw it on to a piece of paper, open up your OBJECTIVES tab in DATAPAD, or return to the room again once you need to know what it looks like. For the purpose of this guide, I will supply a screenshot of all three of the Imperial Codes (Blue, Green and Red) as a reminder of how they look (See Part 3 of First Level in this guide to view screenshots showing how they look).

Once you have the Imperial Code updated in your Datapad, you can leave the room through a new exit, you will encounter a red barrier blocking your path which you can simply turn off by flicking the switch close to the barrier on the left wall. When you have done that, walk through the doorway up the stairs and take a left turn and proceed down the corridor, taking out the Stormtroopers along the way, once you have gone all the way down the corridor, you will find a massive room with a offline control panel centered in the room. Go down the Green pathway and destroy the sentry turret along the way. You will see a Imperial Officer in the security room guarding where you want to enter. Enter the door and kill all of the Stormtroopers and the Imperial Officer. When you have completed that you can replenish your ammo and health in the security room the Imperial Officer was located in before you arrived or head on and take a left to a door that is down stairs. Now all you have to do is deal with the Stormtroopers guarding that room as well and go further a head until you reach a Control Console that you have to walk over to and "Use" it. Kyle will ask for Jan to help him with the Control Console, Jan will reply with "I'm on my way" and you will have to wait for her to arrive. Jan runs into trouble and asks you to assist her, you will have to retrace your steps to the room where you retrieved the Light Amplification Goggles and kill all the Stormtroopers along the way. Once you meet up with Jan she will ask you to lead the way as she follows you, go back to the Console Control room you were just in before heading back to help Jan. When you are back in the room with Jan, she will walk up to the Console Controls and unlock doors in a cut scene that were previously locked for you. Once that happens, Jan will stay in that room and try to find out more information while you go up stairs in the room you are in and out the door to your right. When you are outside the door, continue forwards and take a right and go through to the first door on your left. Once inside you will notice a Green Imperial Code on the wall, after dealing with the Stormtroopers inside of the room you will be able to update your Datapad with it and move onwards.

Return to the massive room with the T-pathway and the offline control panel. This time you will head down the Red pathway, once you enter the room you will destroy the sentry gun on the ceiling and the Imperial Officer will become alerted about your presence. Enter the doorway, deal with the Imperial Officer and head upstairs to confront two Stormtroopers, once you have dealt with them, take a left from your entrance to a elevator which will take up to the upper floor of the massive room with the offline control panel. Once there you can flick the switch in the room which will disable a red barrier that is formed around a switch which you can see in the distance. Walk over to the switch you can now flick and it will turn the control panel online , a couple of Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer will now appear from up the elevator from which you came from to investigate, kill them and take the elevator you took up, back down. Once you are down, drop down to the lower floor with no railings and head through the door you haven't entered ahead of you. Inside the room you will find two red flashing containers and four Stormtroopers guarding around the room, once you have taken care of them walk over to a panel with a picture of a radar, facing the opposite end of the room to the red flashing containers. From there you can "Use" the radar panel to listen on transmissions from other people, you can listen to up to four conversations before the radar cannot be used again and you will only hear static when you try to "Use" it. When you have finished listening to the contents that the radar gives you, head to the entrance of a corridor in between the red flashing containers and the radar panel. Proceed further into the corridor and take a right to the green lit door. Once inside you will see an explosion with Stormtroopers screaming and you will have to confront a couple of them. Note that the flames will burn you and kill you over time. When you have dealt with the Stormtroopers, proceed down the long corridor facing you with flames spiraling out of it occasionally.
Walkthrough: First Level - Kejim Post - Part 3 of 3 with IMPERIAL CODES & SECRET AREA LOCATION(S)
When you have crossed the corridor, you will see a cut scene of the corridor you just crossed breaking. After you have watched the cut scene, proceed onwards and enter the door with droids in it, destroy the droids you meet and take the elevator next to the unbreakable glass window up the opening hatch of the ceiling, once there you will have to destroy a couple more of the same droids you encountered previously. After you have destroyed them, take the path that the roof of the corridor makes for you and jump through the opening hole and kill the Stormtroopers. Once that is completed you can enter the security door and encounter three or so Imperial Officers and a Stormtroopers, when you have taken care of them, proceed to the green lit door ahead. Inside you will see two more Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer wearing a black outfit, in that room will be your Red Imperial Code waiting for you to walk up to, this will update your Datapad.

Retrace your steps back to the online control panel in the massive room and now you can enter all three of the Imperial Codes by aligning the three patterns on the panels in the correct order that matches the codes you saw to there correct colours, flick the switches for the codes you have completed when you have done so. The Blue Imperial Code opens the Bridge for you, the Red Imperial Code closes down the red shield Barrier to the door and the Green Imperial Code unlocks the door for you by changing its colour from a red lit door to a green lit door. Once you have flicked all the switches you will get a Datapad update for your progress and continue onwards to the next level by entering the doorway you have just unlocked. You will receive a score sheet on your screen entitled "LEVEL STATS" for your results of the level you have completed.

Congratulations on completing your first mission of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast!

IMPERIAL CODES (BLUE, RED AND GREEN):

SECRET AREA LOCATIONS:

  • The first secret location for this level (see Part 1 for First Level) is at the very start of the game where there is a door on the left of where you were facing when you first spawned in to the mission, simply jump on the crate sticking slightly out from under the first shelf on your right, then jump again to get onto the first shelf, then jump on the crate, from that crate you are on you can then leap towards a Bacta Canister and Batteries located on the top shelf. This is the first Secret area for this mission.

  • The second secret location for this mission is found after getting your Light Amplification Goggles (see Part 2 for First Level for further information) and going down the elevator into a pitch black room, there is a small section with two Medpacks and six Blaster Pack ammo. This will be your second and last Secret area for you to discover on this mission.
Walkthrough: Second Level - Kejim Base - Part 1 of 2
At the beginning of this level you will spawn in front of the door you had just entered in the previous level. You will have to take a left from the entrance where you will meet a squad of Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer waiting for you, once you have dealt with them, you can then proceed into the two small rooms for ammo and health replenishing, then once you have finished, continue on by walking over the Imperial Officer's body to obtain a Imperial's security key . "Use" the security key in the key hole located to the right of the door, when it opens you will confront a sentry turret and a couple of Stormtroopers, once you have taken care of them, proceed further into the room and take a left into the green lit door. Once you have entered the room you will confront a couple more Stormtroopers that you will need to dispatch, when you have finished with them you can then flick ("Use") a switch to your left. When you have used the switch it will light up blue and a security hatch with a window will open up from behind you, proceed into the hatch by destroying the window.

When you have entered the hatch you will notice a Imperial Officer to your left, once you have dealt with him you can go upstairs to where he was and look through the security camera (static screen looking panel) which will show you a large room with three sentry turrets inside, after looking through the security camera, flick ("Use") the two switches and then destroy one of the two windows outside of the Ice Chamber to proceed into it. Once inside of the Ice Chamber, jump down to the floor of the Ice Chamber and proceed through the security door. When you have entered you will see a staircase, to the right of the staircase you will notice a switch and a unopened hatch door. Flick the switch to open the hatch door and proceed inside to see a picture on the wall with three light blue bars, flick the switch below the picture and the three light blue bars will diminish into empty bars, as soon as you have completed this, follow on up the stairs where you will meet two new droids and a few Stormtroopers above you.

Take out the droids and the Stormtroopers and proceed back to the Ice Chamber from where you first jumped onto the floor through the window, but this time be careful not to fall down the Ice Chamber, as you want to walk along the wall to the platform that the pole from the ceiling creates for you, once on that platform you can the continuously jump (around four jumps) upwards towards the top of the Ice Chamber where you will then see a clear doorway entrance to your next area, from where you are standing from where you jumped up to, take a left and go around the Ice Chamber (still staying on that top floor) where you will eventually see on the other side a "cautioned" entrance with a red light inside, enter inside of it and you will discover the first Secret Area of this level, which will contain two shelves and a container with a red flashing light you can "Use". Once you are done in the Secret Area, go along the wall you came from till your back to where you can enter the Ice Chamber from above.

From there you will proceed onwards to the "cautioned" bridge with grate like tiles where you can then take a jump from the left of the bridge to a area with a bunch of pipelines where you can then continue a long further into a small cove room with a Orange Container you can "Use" for ammo replenishing and a Thermal Detonator, this will be the second Secret Area located on this level. When you have finished in the Secret Area, jump back onto the bridge and take a left through the doorway that proceeds into the next area of the level. Once inside you will have to deal with a droid, a few Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer. The Imperial Officer will be located in a room with a couple of Stormtroopers shooting outside of a window, once dealing with all of your hostiles, go along the wall till you are at the two windows the Stormtroopers and Imperial Officer were shooting out of, when you are at the windows you will notice a red lit switch on the other side with a explosive container next to it, destroy the explosive container by shooting at it and it will destroy the red lit switch next to it, causing a drawbridge to shuttle through giving you access to the security door to enter the room. Go inside of the newly acquired room and flick the second red lit switch to make a new drawbridge come out, gaining access to the room a floor bellow you.

[OPTIONAL TASK] Once you have done that you can take a elevator located in the room you are in down to a lower level where you will see shelves holding E11- Blaster Rifles and a staircase that leads to a hallway with a door to the end, enter that door and you will notice you are in a Officer room above a sentry turret, from there you can flick the switch in the room which will make some tiles on the ground below you in the large room to elevate into the air. As you will be able to see, you can now make a few good jumps from the elevated platforms you have created to obtain the items on the second block sticking out of the wall. To get to this room, return to the elevator you took down up and proceed out of the door to the lower level via a elevator located on the corner of the upper level. Going down it will take you to the lower level and you can then go down a ramp, which will lead you to a staircase on your left you can go down, which leads you to the room you just elevated tiles in. There will be three sentry turrets for you to dispose of once you have entered the room, they are on the ceilings of the control rooms. After you have finished that, you can then make jumps to the second block sticking through the wall using the elevated platforms. [OPTIONAL TASK]

This of course is all optional things to do, but helpful when doing the game on Jedi Master when considering all of the items you can gain to heal yourself with and gain your shield back. Once you are done in the large room, exit from where you came from to enter the room and go up the staircase and the ramp going up, then take a left follow the room, ignore the red barrier door till you see a security door with a drawbridge you can walk along to enter the door, from there you will be in a dark small room with a opening hatch in the ground, jump down the hatch where you can then crouch through a tunnel to proceed further. When you have finished going through the tunnel you will enter a room with tubes in it, at the corner of the room you will notice a Bacta Canister you can pick up, and more importantly a switch that you need to flick/"Use". Once you have done that, four tiles from the ground will be removed and four testing tubes will take there place.

[OPTIONAL TASK] Now that you have done that you can now leave the room by going up the staircase, then go down a short staircase going up again to a little control room where you can flick a switch, flicking this switch will cause four tiles from the large rooms' walls to slide away and will have four turrets in there place, once done with the switch you can then exit the control room, go down the hallway, go down the stairs again and take a left to a staircase that proceeds downwards to a green lit door, dispose of the four new sentry turrets and then claim your reward by jumping up the elevated platforms to the first block sticking out of the wall. [OPTIONAL TASK]

Now that you have done that you can now leave the room by going up the staircase, and then take a left to a green lit door. Once you have entered you will confront a bunch of Stormtroopers, a sentry turret on the right corner of the room's ceiling and a Imperial Officer with a Imperial Supply key. When you have dealt with all of them you can walk over the Imperial Officer's body to obtain a Imperial Supply key and then flick the switch he was manning.
Walkthrough: Second Level - Kejim Base - Part 2 of 2
After you are done with the switch, Go down the staircase and into a room with a bunch of red shield barriers blockading the doors for dead prisoners and empty cells, continue down the room till you meet with a elevator which will allow you to proceed to the top floor above the cells and you will encounter a Imperial Officer you can deal with to flick the switch he is guarding. Once you have done that you can proceed into the cells and gather all the items you can find from the cells, and also encounter two droids of a new type. Now that you have finished that, proceed back down to the where you came from and continue onwards where you will then encounter a Imperial Officer on your right cowering in a corner crouching with a E11-Blaster Rifle, kill him and get his Imperial security key to continue through the doorway he was facing. Once inside you will find a impenetrable window displaying the area from which you first crawled out of the tunnel by crouching. By the window you will find a control panel with two switches, turn the second switch on the right on and after that keep turning the first switch on the left on and off as many times as it takes to destroy the room's windows outside that contains a Green Canister which you can then "Use" at will by going back to that room.

Now that you have finished doing this, you can now enter the green lit door into the room you have not yet entered. Once inside, proceed forwards taking a right into a room with two sentry turrets opposing each other, destroy them and then destroy a explosive crate next to the control room facing you towards end of the room. When you have destroyed the explosive crate, it will reveal an entrance that you can jump up to and then crouch through the crawlspace until you reach a grate that you will need to destroy before proceeding further onwards. When you are out of the crawlspace, take a left and flick both switches that you can see in the control room you have entered. You can then exit the control room via the security door and wait for the red lit door ahead of you to open up, inside you will see multiple Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer you will need to take care of. Once done walk over the Imperial Officer's body for a Imperial's security key.

[OPTIONAL TASK] When you have gotten the Imperial's security key, go up the small staircase and go though the door down the short hallway to a control room with a switch to elevate and change some of the tile platforms positions, flick the switch (this will also cause six new sentry turrets to appear in the large room along the walls). Once done with the switch, exit the room and take a left to a security room's door where you can use the newly acquired Imperial's security key to open up the room by placing it in the key hole located right to the security door, once inside you will see a Stormtrooper, take care of him and you should then notice three blue laser lines, on the end of them are explosive devices capable of instantly killing you as you try to pass through them, to dispose of them throw a Thermal Detonator or Detonation Packs close to the explosive mines, once they have been triggered, you will be safe to proceed into the large room by going down the elevator located in the room. Deal with the six new sentry turrets that appeared after flicking the switch. After dealing with those you can now safely jump up the tile platforms to the third block sticking out of the wall with some new items that you can receive as a reward. When you have finished with the puzzle, exit out using the elevator provided after using it to go down. [OPTIONAL TASK]

You can now take a right into a security door that's got red lighting along the entrance of it. Once you have entered it you will notice a closed hatch in front of you and a red shield barrier to your right. After around a second you will notice the hatch in front of you will open up and you will discover a few Stormtroopers and a Imperial Officer on a Blaster Turret inside prepared to shoot you from within. Once you have finished with them all you can then go towards the end of the room and to the left you will find a red switch, flick the switch. This will cause the red barriers to drop down and Stormtroopers will try to raid you from the entrances you created to the room you are in, jump on to the Blaster Turret and deal with them as they try to rush you. When you have finished you can then go through the entrance they were running through. When you have entered the room you will see a generator type machine with a crystal in the middle of it with flashing lights alongside it. To the left of the room you can enter another smaller room that has red lighting and flick the switches (in any order) to produce red lasers in the room that will cut holes inside the entire room. Note that the red lasers are obviously lethal and will kill you if you stay in them for to long. After they are on, you will have to maneuver your way safely through the room, avoiding all the red lasers, and then exit the room through the red lit door that has a section removed from it by the laser. A suggestion to get through this puzzle with a bit more ease is to go 3rd Person (the default key is "P") which will allow you to make quick rolls around the room (Walk Forward, Backpedal, Step Left or Step Right + Down/Crouch, to perform a roll).

When you are outside of the room, the generator behind you will blow up, deactivate and the red lasers will then go away. Now that you are out of the room, proceed onwards by going down the staircase and use your security key on the key hole next to the impenetrable window ahead of you. To get that security key though, you will first have to enter the room behind you through the security door and take it out of the dead Imperial Officer's pocket (the first Imperial Officer body you see in the room will have the key). Note that the room is toxic and the longer you stay in the room, the more it will damage you. Now that you have the Imperial's security key for the small area, open it and inside you will see a Droid Control Panel, which you can then "Use". Once you have used the Droid Control Panel, you begin to control a small droid that wheels around the ground with haste, with it move forwards out of the dark little room you start off in and then go towards the end of the room where you will see a entrance small enough to be passed through by a droid, "Use" the little key hole to gain access to this entrance, go through the entrance and you will enter the toxic room you couldn't stay in for to long as Kyle.

As you enter the room, you will see a long dark tunnel with green zaps of electricity sparking off the exterior, go through this tunnel till you meet the end of it, you will enter a room and go down the ramp that is visible upon entering the room, then head to the key hole on the wall and "Use" it. You can now abandon the droid you were using by pressing the "Jump" key. Now that you just did that little detour with the droid, you can now enter the room that was previously uninhabitable. The next door you will be taking is opposing the green crystal in the room, go through it and you will be confronted with a few Stormtroopers to take out in a room full of explosive crystals hanging down from the ceiling (yet the crystals are harmless, even when blowing up and shattering). Once you are done in that room you can then head out through a security door on the other side of the room, when you enter the room your Datapad will become updated and you can use the Green Canister to rejuvenate your lost shield points (if you have any shield points missing). Now all you have to do is go through the grey corridor into a room with an elevator and the level will end there.

Congratulations on finishing the Second Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!

Walkthrough: Second Level - Kejim Base - SECRET AREA LOCATION(S)
SECRET AREA LOCATION(S):

  • The first Secret Area located on this level is after you have hopped out of the Ice Chamber, take a left turn and circle around the Ice Chamber, once you have gotten to the other side you will notice a cautioned entrance with red lighting in the inside of the room. The room contains ammo, health and a red flashing container you can open, but more importantly it is your first Secret Area on this level.

  • The second Secret Area located on this level is after you have hopped out of the Ice Chamber, walk down the catwalk but do not enter the doorway on the other side, instead you will need to take a left and jump to some nearby piping where you will see a Orange Container you can use to sap ammo from also some Thermal Detonators on the ground next to it, this will be your second Secret Area on this level.
Walkthrough: Third Level - Artus Mine - Part 1 of 2
You begin the level on a rocky, corrosive planet that you need to explore further to infiltrate a mining facility so you can cripple its operation. Make your way through a path of rocky terrain past a destroyed droid you see lying on the ground, at the end of the path you can slide down the two hills and proceed further on. There will be a tower that has two spotlights scouting the area around the tower, you can avoid them or trigger them by standing in the light to set off an alarm that also sends out two droids to kill you from the top of the tower, after some time the alarm will stop sounding, meaning you can trigger the alarm again for another two droids. Deal with the situation how you see fit, you can also sneak around and go inside of the tower through a door and switch off the spotlights with a unique red panel in the room.

When you want to proceed with the mission, jump onto a octagon shaped platform near the spotlight tower, from there you will need to shoot out two sentry turrets on the other side that are shooting at you and then move a long the pipes that serve as platforms, being careful not to fall off, with the first pipe you will have to get to the end of it and jump on the pipe at the end to proceed onto the second pope, from the second pipe you will need to cross to the other side and go along the two piped walk way. Once you have completed that you can safely cross the third pipe and onto another platform and take a left or right turn onto a staircase that will both lead you to security doors, there will be a bunch of Stormtroopers on the floor your on and a Imperial Officer that's on the cat walk area above you, kill the Stormtroopers and take the elevator up and deal with the Imperial Officer to receive the Imperial's security key by walking over his body. When you have gotten the security key, go down back to the ground floor the Stormtroopers were on and do down a ramp that leads to a red lit door that you can opened up by placing the security key in the key hole located to the right of the red lit door, once you have walked through the door your Datapad will be updated and you can then regenerate your armor and replenish your ammo using the Green Canister and Orange Container.

Once you are done enter the new room, there will be a few Imperial Officers inside and two Stormtroopers that enter the room to protect them when you start alert them. When you have death with them, pass over the Imperial Officers body to obtain the Imperial's security key and a Imperial's supply key. Now that you have done that, exit the room through a new door in the room that the two Stormtroopers entered from and go down the elevator that's a head of you. While going down you can get to your first Secret area of the map by crouching through a small entrance that appears as your heading down the elevator, once inside keep going and crouch through another entrance that will open for you, walk through and you will be in a small room which gives you Thermal Detonators and a hole you can use to kill the Stormtroopers and Imperial Officers from below, this room will be a Secret Area. Once done in that room, call for the elevator to bring to the lower level and enter through the grey door a head of you and kill any body remaining there (if any).

When you are ready, head forwards and take a left through a grey door, there will be an elevator there which will go up as you approach it, it will come down with around four Stormtroopers that you will have to kill to proceed up the elevator, once you have gone up the elevator, proceed by taking a right through the corridor and dealing with any Stormtroopers in your way, the corridor will take you to a large control room which you will then head through the big grey door (ignoring the security door for now) and then encounter two sentry turrets inside on the ceiling of the room and a large amount of Stormtroopers will enter the large control room behind you attempting to ambush you as you enter the new room, deal with all of them and proceed into the room. You will hear dialogue from Kyle wondering where the Trans Station room leads to, when you are finished in the room leave it and then head out the way you came from to encounter even more Stormtroopers, proceed onwards down the corridor until it splits off and you will notice to your right a path of rocky terrain that leads to a red flashing container, as you approach it you will encounter Imperial Workers that will try to kill you with Blaster Pistols, kill all of them, once you are done killing the Imperial workers, go back to the corridor you have not yet entered on the right. Take a right in the corridor and deal with a Stormtrooper, when that is done continue on and head through a security door, as you approach it you will get a Checkpoint. Once inside kill the hostile Stormtroopers and Imperial Officers, walk over the body of one of them to receive a Imperial security key (which can be used on the red flashing container you met with on the rocky terrain guarded by Imperial Workers).

Inside of the room you will gain access to three security doors, a security camera and a Green Canister to regenerate your armor. The first security door on your right as you entered the room will lead you to a room that has a Power Droid and a maintenance room for the floating containers, do not enter the maintenance room just yet or it will kill you during the maintenance of a floating container. What you will need to do to proceed with the mission is enter one of the two security doors by the end of the room (left and right of the Green Canister). Once outside you will notice in between the railings in front of the building two poles that are lit up by the ends of them, you will need to wait for a black ventilation tube that serves as a platform to expand so you can jump onto it, while on top of it crouch underneath the floor so you can get to a platform on the sides of the black ventilation tube, either side will work. As soon as the black ventilation tube goes back into the area, run inside and quickly reach the end where you can enter a room with four red tubes on the walls and one on the device in the middle of the room that is guarded by a shield, destroy the four red tubes on the sides of the room to destroy the shield and then destroy the red tubes on the device in the center of the room that is no longer protected by the red shield. This will cause the device in the middle of the room to serve as a elevator for you that brings you to the maintenance room for the floating containers, which you will have to wait for a container to come a long before it will bring you up to that room.

Now that you have cut the power, the maintenance room will no longer be lethal to you and the room won't flash red anymore, now that you in the maintenance room, head for the small staircase that takes you to a control panel you cannot use, there are diagonal platforms (they also serve as lighting for this room) in the room that you can jump on top of to reach the top and then jump on top of the next floating container that goes by you. Note that you will need to crouch while on the floating container as it heads through the large hatch. As the floating container passes by, you should notice a large rocky area ahead you, try not to miss the opportunity as you go by, as you will need to jump onto this new area to proceed in this mission. When you are on the rocky terrain, head on through the green lit cave caused by the glowing crystals on the walls, you will see a Imperial Worker's corpse and Batteries next to it, also a new small creature that runs on three legs and will try to eat you will appear, once you have killed it you will have two options on which way you would like to proceed through the cave, either path works and brings you to the same area.
Walkthrough: Third Level - Artus Mine - Part 2 of 2 with SECRET AREA LOCATION(S)
A suggestion during this level if you are having trouble seeing the area around you in the cave is to take out your Light Amplification Goggles and keep picking up the Batteries a long the way in the cave so you do not run out of power for you Light Amplification Goggles to fast. And once again you will be treated with two paths to take in the cave again, and also once again they will lead you to the same area, but this time you will see two dead prisoners and a big drill that you can "Use" by the control panel flickering between two red shapes. When you activate the drill, it will move forwards until it stops, creating a path for you out of the rock and through a wall at the end of it, once the drill is done it will continue of until it falls out of a grate into a pit of lava below, underneath where the crate was you can see Stormtroopers and Imperial Workers around the floors below you, deal with them and walk over to the second grate and destroy it.

Eventually a floating garbage container will pass by that you can drop down onto while it dumps garbage into the lava, so you can safely jump down onto the top floor of that room as the floating container exits the room. After hopping off the floating container onto the cat walk, go down the elevator located in the corner of the room and go around the room until you meet with a security door, go through the security door and deal with the Imperial Workers and Stormtroopers inside, then you can use the crushing device in the room as an elevator up to the top floor where you can then head out of that room by the security door on the top floor.

When you enter the new area you will be in a room with a large generator with a few Imperial Officers and Stormtroopers that you will need to kill, after dealing with them you can then jump down and retrieve a Imperial's supply key from one of the Imperial Officer's body. After you get the key you can open the red flashing container next to the large generator in the area, when your done getting supplies from this area, go up next to the large and "Use" the control panel with the red shape on it. Once you use it, you will get a cut scene with Kyle discussing with Jan that he needs to stay on the planet for a bit longer to do more damage to the remnant's mining operation and release prisoners as well, while he is detonating the large generator to explode.

After it explodes and the alarm goes off, you will need to leave the area by going rumbling mines by exiting through the grey door at the end of the room you are in, it will take you through a hallway that has a green lit door at the end which you will need to exit through and then deal with the Stormtroopers in the area, then continue through the next green lit door that's a head of you and go up the elevator, kill the Imperial worker and run towards the room he was blocking off into a room with Stormtroopers and a couple of the creatures you met in the cave area blocking the way to the Trans Station. Once you are done killing them all, head through the grey door at the end of the room into the Trans Station you were in before, kill a few move of those little cave creatures, and the you can hop on board the Tran Station's Cart to your next level by using the control panel in front of the passenger seats.

Well done, you have completed your Third Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!

SECRET AREA LOCATION(S):

  • The first Secret Area is located when going down or up the first elevator in the mission, you will notice a opening on the wall that you can crouch through and proceed further to a room with Thermal Detonators lying on the ground and a hole that can be used for you to shoot down into the floor below you with the Stormtroopers and Imperial Officers that were prepared to shoot you when you came out of the elevator, this area will be your first Secret Area on this level.

Walkthrough: Fourth Level - Artus Detention - Part 1 of 2
At the beginning of this level it will start off with a cut scene of Kyle Katarn being transported to a new area, after the cut scene it will bring you back to Kyle's perspective and you will have to kill two Stormtroopers and then head off the tram onto a ramp going down to some rocky terrain that makes a path to the grate tiles that also forms into a ramp going upwards, as you go up the ramp the above level will explode, collapse and form into a ramp you can jump on and also kill the Stormtrooper inside. Go up this newly made ramp and you can then go over the control panel at the end of the room and "Use" the panel with the red shape on it.

This will turn the red lit door underneath you green and makes it passable to go through, enter the door and take out the Stormtroopers inside the area, there will be a couple on the other side of the wall shooting through the small sections that are opened in the walls. Go through the green lit security door on the right and take out anymore Stormtroopers in your way, ignore the elevator for now and go directly past the Green Canister and Orange Container to a control panel with a red shape on it, "Use" it to change the security door from red to green and go back to the green lit security door you entered from and go forwards to enter the newly green lit security door into a large room with a dodecagon (twelve sided) shaped pillar that is used for prison cells spanning the center of the room.

You will need to dispatch a few Stormtroopers in the room and then head up to the other side of the room to a grey door which leads you to a few more Stormtroopers and a series of staircases going up to the second floor, when you up to the second floor, go through a grey door and you will have a couple of Imperial Officers and a few Stormtroopers heading to your direction to stop you. Kill them and proceed to the other side of the room where you will repeat the process of killing the Stormtroopers and heading up the series of staircases up to the third floor where you will kill a couple more Imperial Officers and a few Stormtroopers, then go to the other side of the room and enter the grey door entrance into a another series of staircases with more Stormtroopers to kill, the staircases will lead you to the fourth floor.

On the fourth floor you will have to kill a Stormtrooper and a couple of hovering droids in the air, after that you can then proceed to the other side of the room through the grey door and visit your last series of staircases and few more Stormtroopers for you to kill while you in there, after that proceed up the staircases into a room with a Stormtrooper and three Imperial Officers waiting for you, after killing them proceed into the room and you will find a security camera that shows a prisoner in there cell. After that you can then go over to the display with a red ventilation fan picture and "Use" the red shaped control panel underneath it, the picture of the red ventilation fan will rotate around on the display, you will hear a noise behind you coming from the ventilation system and also see gusts of air from within it. After this is complete, head to the other side of the room, opposite to the fan control panel, and "Use" the red shaped control panel.

This will briefly open up a cut scene with the prisoners escaping and after that trigger an alarm, you will then have to go through where you entered and go down the staircase to a big green lit door and kill the Stormtrooper that you encounter and destroy the sentry turret on the ceiling as you enter the room. Take a left and you will see a Stormtrooper being shot at by a prisoner on the other side, walk over to that prisoner and begin to talk to him. He will thank you for releasing him and ask you to do something more for him, follow him by taking a right into a large room with many Tie Fighters around and a few Stormtroopers inside attempting to kill the prisoners. Note that if to many prisoners die (in this mission it is classified as one of them dying), the mission will be a failure and you will get a message saying "MISSION FAILURE TOO MANY PRISONERS HAVE DIED".

When you have finished off the Stormtroopers in the room, head to the elevator which will take you up a level to the floor where all the Tie Fighters are docked in. Find a grey door and kill the Stormtroopers that are inside, proceed forwards past the next grey door onto a grate tile bridge, stay on the bridge and look to your right and you will notice a grate on the wall rattling around, jump over to the grate and destroy it to crouch down and enter it to proceed through the tunnel it was blocking, head through the tunnel and it will eventually end with a elevator that will bring you up to another tunnel you can crouch down through, when you meet the end of the tunnel you will be in a area with a ventilation hole in the middle of it and three indestructible grates a long the walls and one on the floor. When you are ready, jump down the ventilation hole and it will take you down slowly through the air that's gushing upwards, note that this will only happen if you turned the fan on.

The fan will make It so you will lower yourself down safely, once all the way down you will notice a small tunnel that you will need to crouch into so you can proceed, if you are interested in getting the first Secret Area in this level, head around the area outside shooting the grates till you find one that breaks, inside it will be a Small Shield Booster and a Thermal Detonator. After you have done that you can then head to another opened grate and crouch underneath it and proceed, killing the little creatures with three legs a long your way, once you have gotten through the tunnel, a small door in the tunnel will open you you will exit the tunnel through the partially destroyed part of the tunnel, it will bring you to a cave with green emeralds on the exterior of it. Proceed through the cave and kill all the little creatures that run at you as you go through the cave, there will be two paths you can take in the cave which both lead to the same area, follow on up the cave and kill all the creatures a long the way, eventually you will find the exit to the cave and you can jump out of it into a facility, you will have to kill a few little creatures eating the bodies of Stormtroopers inside, once you are done, head out the grey door in the room.

Once in the room, kill the Stormtroopers in your way and take the grey door with the emblem on it, then head to the security door and kill the Stormtroopers inside, when you have done that, go to the control panel in the room and "Use" the red shaped control panel, head out of the room and the red lit door down the ramp will now be green, go back through the grey door with the emblem on it that you had gone through before, and then take the second grey door with the emblem on it. Once you have entered the room you can now go down the stairs where you will meet with a Imperial Officer called "The Warden" that you cannot kill yet because he is essential to the mission's success, when you have finished talking to him, keep your gun's crosshair (center of your screen) on him and he will keep moving, note that if you stop centering him with your gun he will not move. Keep walking with the "The Warden" to where he is walking to, when you get to a grey door you will need to take out the Stormtroopers from inside and proceed with the Imperial Officer up the two staircases, when you have gotten to the top of the second staircase, The Warden will open it for you and there will be a Stormtrooper and 4 of the little creatures inside. They will try to surround you and "The Warden", do not let them kill "The Warden" or the mission will be a failure. After you have dealt with the little creatures, continue pointing your gun at "The Warden" to keep him moving.

Walkthrough: Fourth Level - Artus Detention - Part 2 of 2 with SECRET AREA LOCATION(S)
Eventually "The Warden" will click something on the wall that opens the red lit door in the room causing a few Stormtroopers to come after you and "The Warden" will try to kill you as well, it is now safe to kill "The Warden" and his Stormtroopers to proceed with the mission. Go through the green lit door in the room and walk down to a elevator and take it down, kill the Stormtroopers and then enter the grey door with the emblem on it, kill the Stormtroopers in that room and enter one of the two grates at the end of the room, when you enter the grate's entrance by destroying it, you can ten take the right tunnel down to finish off the mission.

You have now completed the Fourth Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast", Congratulations!

SECRET AREA LOCATION(S):

  • The first Secret Area located in the Fourth Level is available after you have gone down the ventilation shaft with air gusting upwards so you fall without dying. You will then need to proceed to the outside by crouching underneath a grate that's been opened already, while you are outside you will need to search around for a breakable grate. Inside the tunnel it will provide a Small Shield Booster and Thermal Detonators next to it, this will be also be your first Secret Area for this level.
Walkthrough: Fifth Level - Artus Topside - Part 1 of 1 with SECRET AREA LOCATION(S)
You begin this level with a cut scene of the prisoners defending themselves against Stormtroopers that have the higher ground on a balcony, as you fall down the tunnel that you entered from the last level. As soon as you spawn you will notice a Walker (AT-ST) in front of you, so it's best you move out as fast as possible and avoid it before it gets into position and starts firing at you. The first move you should make is to go through the security door on your left and kill the Stormtrooper and Imperial Officer, remembering to pick up the Imperial's supply key from the Imperial Officer's body. Once you have done this, flick the switch in the room and exit out of the security door and proceed quickly to the elevator on your left. When it takes you up to the upper floor, enter the room to the left of you through the security door and kill the Imperial Officer, you can then exit out of the room through the security door and "Use" the mounted Blaster Turret that is next to the security room you just left. Destroy the Walker (AT-ST) that's trying to kill you and turn the Blaster Turret around and start eliminating all of the Stormtroopers you see on the balcony above you, and all the Stormtroopers that come rushing down the ramp in front of you. Eventually, the giant metal gateway in front of you will open and a Walker (AT-ST) will come out and attempt to walk over to the prisoners to kill them, you will need to destroy the Walker (AT-ST) with the Blaster Turret.

After you have done this, you have successfully kept enough prisoners alive to continue. Jump off the Blaster Turret and go up the ramp that's in front of you into the green lit door to access a red flashing container that you can "Use" the Imperial's supply key you obtained during the start of the mission. When you have finished doing that, leave the room and approach the elevator you took up to this floor, you will encounter a few Stormtroopers you will need to take care of before you can take it down. You will need to proceed down the elevator and take a left to a large rocky path, kill all the Stormtroopers in your way and the ones on the balcony, then continue down the path towards the massive red lit doorway that will open up as you get near it with a Walker (AT-ST) inside. Now will need to run past the Walker (AT-ST) and take a right through inside of the room from which appeared from into a security door. Once your there, you can take the elevator inside the room up to the next floor, then go through the next security door that you can now see. Take out the Stormtrooper(s) that are waiting for you and you will notice that on the ledge next to you from the door you just came from with the Green Canister on the right hand side are two steps that you can take up, walk a long the ledge of the balcony and you will find on the other end a grate that you can destroy, crouch inside and there will be your first Secret Area location on this mission and will contain a Bacta Canister, Trip Mines and a Large Shield Booster.

Walk across the ledge you took again to the other side and continue to the Blaster Turret second next to the Ion Cannon (external defenses) that you will use for destroying the Walker (AT-ST) below you. Note that crossing the grated tiles while or after the Ion Cannon is shooting into the air will cause you to take electrical damage, but the small back part of the Ion Cannons with the two blue flashing tubes will be safe to rest on through firing intervals. After you have taken out the Walker (AT-ST), continue around the Ion Cannon and still be careful about the electricity it causes on the grated tiles. Go through the security door and take out the Stormtroopers inside to clear the area, then go down and take a left through the security door and kill the Stormtrooper inside and take out the sentry turret that's located on the ceiling of the room. Take the security door into the next room and kill the Stormtroopers, Imperial Officer(s) and Imperial Workers within the Walker (AT-ST) holding room. Then go through the next security door, but first destroy the Trip Mine that's inside the room firstly, go through the security door in that room and then take the elevator you see down (or walk across it to the other security door to get a Green Canister to regenerate your shield).

Once down the elevator, walk over the dead Imperial Officer's body to retrieve a Imperial's security key, open up the red flashing container in the room and then proceed through the security door located in the middle of the room. Kill the two Stormtroopers and two Imperial Officers inside and take the Imperial's supply key from there bodies, then "Use" the keyhole next to the door to proceed. Inside the room will be a Imperial Officer waiting for you, kill him and use the red control panel inside of the room. Note that the pillar in the middle of the room with the two blue flashing tubes has a pit that you can fall into that will kill you if you do fall into it. After switching off the red control panel in the room, you have successfully deactivated the Ion Cannons shields, you will get a message from Jan about having to destroy the Ion Cannons, you will have to retrace your steps back to the Ion Cannons, killing all the hostiles you encounter on your way back. Once your back to the Ion Cannons, jump onto anyone of the mounted Blaster Turrets and destroy both of the Ion Cannons. When you have done that your Datapad will become updated and Kyle will tell Jan that it's all clear for her to land. Head back to the Walker (AT-ST) holding room that you were in before but don't take the elevator down this time, you will need to kill all the Stormtroopers you confront and walk through the now green lit door on the other side of the top floor of the room. Inside there will be a Sentry Turret directly above you on the ceiling that you will need to dispose of before entering further. After that, enter the security door in that room and then enter the other security door in that room, destroying the Trip Mines and the Sentry Turret on the ceiling from inside. You will also hear Jan ask Kyle for help on there communication device. Head through the security door in that room and go up the stair case. From there will encounter with the Dark Jedi Desann in a cut scene, after that cut scene you will have to fight him and he will be impossible to kill and you will eventually have to lose against him to keep the storyline going. After that there will be another cut scene and that will be the end of the mission.

You have now finished the Fifth Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!

SECRET AREA LOCATION(S):

  • When you first go up the elevator to the floor with the external defenses to escape the third Walker (AT-ST) that you encounter, walk across the ledge to the right and it will take you to a small area with a grate. Destroy the grate and crouch underneath the hole it creates into a smaller area with a Bacta Canister, Trip Mines and a Large Shield Booster located inside. This will be your first Secret Area location on this mission.
Walkthrough: Sixth Level - Valley - Part 1 of 1
Valley is purely a two part cut scene level that is used for plot development. It features Kyle tapping into the force again by using the Valley of the Jedi and after a cut scene with Desann and his apprentice Tavion discussing with each other. After these two cut scenes, it will bring you to the next level, Yavin Temple, for another cut scene with Kyle heading in his space ship to the Yavin Temple to go meet with Luke Skywalker.

Now you have completed the Sixth Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!
Walkthrough: Seventh Level - Yavin Temple - Part 1 of 1
At the start of the mission you will be spawned in a hanger room with a droid to greet you, after talking with the droid, head to the elevator you see in the distance and "Use" it to take you up a level. After taking the elevator up, take the next elevator in that room up a level. Note that the door on this level will take you into a Jedi Academy training room where you can constantly watch two Jedi fight each other for as long as you wish, they will only stop briefly from time to time but only to face against another Jedi that has been waiting to fight by meditating on the ground and spectating the two opponents. The Jedi Trainer with the purple Lightsaber will always be fighting one of them. When you are ready, proceed to the next elevator to the next upper level.

From there you can walk to a large grey metal doorway that will open as you approach it, inside you will meet with Luke Skywalker and a cut scene will initiate. Kyle will talk to Luke about the Dark Jedi Desann and wants you to do trials so you can retrieve your Lightsaber from some ruins that will serve as your trial grounds. Take the elevator down and go through a green lit door, from there enter the door way. Find your way through the area and then find a door with a emblem on it, go through it and then enter a small hole in the wall on the opposing side of you from which you entered the area. You will see the hole next to the left of a short monument that's up a staircase, once you have entered the hole, the mission will end and will take you to the trial grounds.

Level completed, you have finished the Seventh Level of "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!
Walkthrough: Eighth Level - Yavin Trial - Part 1 of 1 with SECRET LOCATION(S)
In the start of this level, you will fall from the tunnel that you went into the level prior and end up in ancient ruins which serves to retrain you in the force. You will need to proceed by taking the door to your left from the position that you were in when entering this level, inside of that room is a rune sticking out of the ground with a platform underneath it with a Force Push cube that will activate as you run over it. Giving you your first Force Power in the game, after that take the door to the right of the rune and you will encounter your first challenge of this level.

There are two things worth noting in this area: Firstly, your Force Push may or may not work when you first try to activate it for the first time when pressing "F" (the default key for Use Force Power may be something else, check your CONTROLS > QUICK KEYS for further detail*), to get it to work you might need to select the Force Power by pressing "F1" (default key) for Force Push or use "X" (default key) for cycling through Force Powers for the next Force Power in the list or "Z" (default key) for cycling through Force Powers for the Previous Force Power in the list.

Secondly, the brown panels in the room that are on the walls will reveal the symbols needed for the corresponding tile that's in line with it (next to it) on the floor, you may or may not need to flip over the brown tiles using Force Push to see the symbols when you walk into the room.

All you need to do for this first challenge is flip over the brown tiles on both sides of the room using Force Push, then look at the symbols on the walls and use Force Push again on the tiles that are on the floor. You will need to match the symbol on the walls with the same symbols on the floor by placing the identical looking symbol on the floor in the center of the room (you can tell the center by the two pointed arrows from the ends of the room). Make sure the floor tile in the center is exactly the same as the identical tile that is shown on the wall.

Once you have done this the door will open and you can proceed to the next rune sticking from the floor with a floating Force Power cube, this Force Power cube will give you your next Force Power, Force Pull. Proceed to the next trial area.

In this trial you will need to switch to Force Pull and go down to the left corner of the room where there is a platform, you will notice unique tiles on the walls that are slimmer the usual bricks and look lighter. Use your Force Pull on the tiles to have them go permanently outwards from where they are positioned and you can use them to jump and run / walk your way to the next door way. Before going into the door way, you will notice that there are a few more platforms that can still be pulled out, when the platforms are out by Force Pulling, jump on them to get to the first Secret Area located on this mission with a Bacta Canister and Batteries that you can use Force pull to retrieve them. Note that the first four platform tiles from the next area are temporary and only stay out for a short period of time, but enough to make it from the Secret Area and back to where you need to be.

When you have entered the door, make sure to pick up the Force Power in front of you, Force Speed. Keep going forwards until you see a hole in the ground that will take you to your next area, in this area you will need to switch to Force Speed and jump on to the button with an engraved plus looking icon that will open a door to a room with a big button on the floor that you can stand on, wait for the button your standing on to open all four doors and proceed using Force Speed down through the four opened doors. Note that when you leave the button, the doors will slowly go back up while your off the button.

After you have done this you can now go up the three ramps to your next area where you can now get Force Jump from the Force Power cube located in the room in front of the rune. The next room you enter will be the starting are of where you first spawned in the start of this mission, the jumping challenge located in this room is to your right of where you just entered. There is some broken gold bricks in the room where you can jump on one to get to the other so forth until you get to the top floor. Once you have done that, enter the door way and proceed to the floating water platform challenge.

To solve this challenge, you will need to Force Pull all four of the statue heads on the left hand side of the wall and then jump on to the starting platform, then use Force Speed to run across the platform before it descends and the gate on the other side does as well. In the hallway that you enter with the staircase going down, at the bottom of it will be be a wall to the right which can be forced pushed to demolish the wall to rubble. Drop down the hole into the next area, follow down the hallway to the next door, you will be in a Force Jump / Force Push challenge room. In this room, Force Push the tiles you see on the walls and jump onto the Force Jump tiles (and small sections of it that are supporting them up, to reach the top and follow the door out.

Travel left to the left of the hallway onto a button and then immediately leave it and dart across to the other side of the room using Force Speed and a platform will be traveling across the room which you can use to jump on then run across and jump onto the next area. In this area you will notice a giant pillar that holds the cage to your Lightsaber, go over to the front of it and Force Push all of the cylinders inwards into the pillar and it will drop to the floor after four cylinders. When it is on the floor, there's still the matter of the cage, to remove it and retrieve you Lightsaber, go to the platform raised on top of the ramp going down, this platform will work as an elevator, this will cause the cage to lift off for as long as you are on the elevator. Run up the ramp using Force Speed and switch to Force Pull to get your Lightsaber out of the cage. Once you have gotten you Light saber you can use it on the two ropes that are attached to the stones that are raising two large stones, when they are cut they will drop to the ground and the door will open for you. Inside you will find a explosive device on the door that can be destroyed by your Lightsaber and then you can proceed through it to get a cut scene with Luke Skywalker, this will end the level.

Congratulations on beating the Eighth Level for "Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast"!

SECRET LOCATION(S):

  • The first Secret Area on this map is located on the Force Pull challenge just after receiving Force Pull, you can keep pulling platforms to get to a area which you can use to Force Pull a Bacta Canister and Batteries from the small compartment inside the wall.
Walkthrough: Ninth Level - Nar Shaddaa Streets - Part 1
You begin this level with a cut scene of the surroundings you are being placed in and then given the perspective of Kyle Katarn, in that area you will need to find a door way that leads into a bar. Note that at the moment you don't want to start any trouble in Nar Shaddaa so you won't be allowed to use any Force Powers or Weapons at the start of this level. Walk past the two Rodian bouncers (who will take your weapons) and head to the Bartender to initiate a conversation with him, he says that he will give you Reelo Baruk but instead he will conceal himself in his area and you will have to kill everyone in the bar that's against you. Once you have done that, go to the backroom of the establishment which will take you to a ramp bringing you to the second floor of the bar, from there you will need to take the stair case that you see to a small third floor where you will find a switch similar to the one the Bartender used to blockade himself. "Use" the switch and then head back down to the Bartender's area and "Use" his switch, this will start a conversation with him that will let you extract information from him, after the conversation you will need to kill a Rodian sniper that has appeared on the second floor and then you can leave the establishment with the second floor's door.

When you are in the outside in the streets of Nar Shaddaa, you will need to take care of two Rodian snipers on the other side inside of a room shooting through windows at you and other hostiles in your path. You will need to take a left turn and go through a long path / ledge towards the buildings you killed the two Rodian Snipers. When you take this path, a Rodian Sniper will be there ready to fire at you near point blank, once you have dealt with him, proceed by taking the path further on your right. As soon as you take this path, two hostiles will walk through the doorway a head with Wookie Bowcasters will be there to stop you, finish them and avoid or kill any Rodian snipers that are hiding above you. Enter the doorway from where the two hostiles came from, in the room you will find two open hatchs on the ceiling both with one hostile in them that will throw grenades at you, take them out and "Use" flick the switch on the wall. Once you used it, a elevator will drop down on to your floor and two hostiles with Wookie Bowcasters will come down with the elevator and storm you. Kill them and go up the elevator, on this floor there will be two Wookie Bowcasters and a grenade-using hostile that you will need to take care of. Once you have done that,

SECRET AREA LOACTION(S):

  • The first Secret Area located on this map is in the Bar area during the start of the level. It is inside the doorway that you will find by going up the first ramp on the right side position of you as from where you entered the Bar area, from there you wil notice a diagonal postioned door you cannot enter (from what I tried). The only way I could find to get into this door was by enabling noclip mode by entering "helpusobi 1" or "devmapall" then typing in "noclip and entering that (see Cheat Codes and Commands tab on this guide for more information). When you have gotten inside you will find a room with a driod you can talk to, two Large Shield Boosters, two Bacta Canisters and Thermal Detonators. When you enter this room, turn off noclip and you can exit out the way you came from, and the door will be permanently open for you (unless you enter it again, but it will open again like it did before).

  • The second Secret Area on this map is located to the right of where you were meant to exit the bar in this walkthrough, you will see a Green Canister and a Orange Container on a level above you with two enemies on the level as well. You will need to use noclip mode to get to this area as well. In the Secret Area, you will find a Green Canister, a Orange Container, two Bacta Canisters and a Power Cell ammo.
