Hello, is this guide still relevant to the latest update of PCBS1? Also, regarding story job, i can ignore the budget and replace every parts right?

Lots of good tips here but if you're really trying to maximize your money while minimizing real-world time:

- Ignore the tip in the guide about turning off the lights. It's a waste of time, as you aren't required to pay the electric bill or rent
- As above, ignore rent, electric bill, and buying stock from uncle Tim (if you want the achievements, buy all the stock and then reload to get your money back, or just wait until you have $1M)
- Don't spend a ton of time OCing. You hit diminishing returns pretty quick if you really try to hit up against the thermal limits. Just crank everything up to reasonable level (80C for the CPU and close-ish to 95 for the GPU) and call it a day
- Run with Shift!
- I don't buy EVERYTHING on PCBay, but I do buy most stuff. I pretty much ignore any GPU below 1080, Celeron processors, PPUs below 750, and any cases. You aren't going to consistently have enough spare parts to be building PCs from scratch with used parts, so ignore the cases.

I believe one way to quickly identify story jobs is to check to see if they have a star rating requirement. It doesn't really apply until Bongle becomes relevant, but if every job but one has a star requirement, you've probably got a story job there.

A story job is one that has custom text, that is never "auto-generated and available to other jobs". Things like Santa, or a time traveler, or a person with a crush, etc. It's all about recognizing if the text is job-unique, aka a story job.

My issue is knowing what a story job is, I completed all jobs and the only thing I have is give uncle 10k for 10% more shares.

Great guide. Base on your experience, what's the cheapest gpu & cpu combo to achieve 10k score with OC?

"save (powerful) GPUs for extra builds once you hit 10k" is exactly what I was looking for. That and the 2x weak GPU advice belong in the guide. Thanks!

If you get the 10k score, then anything else you put in will get its maximum 3x value. My advise would be to save extra GPUs for future builds, and save "required parts" like HDDs and RAM, but put in whatever else you may have like case fans.

On the same hand, if you have 2 weak GPUs that can be multi-GPU, it may be worth going multi-GPU in order to get that 10k score to get the 3x value, since it would be too tough to get the 10k score using just one of the GPUs.
