Introduction
Evil Defenders is really two games.... one in which you complete all the levels on standard difficulty and one where you choose to do many if not all the difficulty levels.

If you just want the thrill of beating the game on the standard default difficulty, it's actually a pretty tough game as you're not going to collect as many skulls as you could and therefore your abilities will not be upgraded very much. This will make the game much harder.

The standard difficulty is harder because of a few things:

1. The more difficulties you do, the more skulls you get and you can upgrade a lot more of your abilities.

2. The harder difficulties are actually easier because all the difficulty does is add more waves. More waves = more coin to spend = more towers you can put down = more towers you can upgrade.

So, if you want the toughest way to play this game, only play the standard difficulties.

Now the lightbulb is going off, isn't it?

Traps
Sniper (bow and arrow) and cannon are the two best traps in the game.

You will need to sprinkle the other ones in there occasionally, but these two are where you should focus.

Mac Millan (Demon), the lightning trap and the teleport trap are a godsend, but how you use them can make or break a level.

Invest in Mac so you are getting $$ while he gets kills. And get his timer down. This will take a while.

The lightning is pretty weak early on, but it recharges fairly quickly and can hit a group. A few skeletons to temporarily slow down a line of creeps so they group up so the AOE of the lightning is a good investment.

Teleport is a godsend. Teleport your strongest enemy (healer / boss) so that you can separate them from the crowd and let Mac handle them. It's also a good delaying tactic when Mac's hasn't fully recharged yet. So investing in teleport distance is a good idea to utilize this tactic even further.

Strategy
Map Approach

    • [1] Do standard difficulty for the first 5 maps. Don't worry about 3-starring it. Sprinkle some upgrades around after each map.
    • [2] Then go back to the first map do it again to get 3 stars and then & do the next difficulty
    • [3] Keep doing the next difficulty until you can't 3 star it and go back to the maps you haven't done and do the next 5
    • [4] Then when you get map 10 done, go back and do difficulty + 2

Upgrades

Get to know the traps and their abilities by sprinkling around 10 different points in a wide variety of areas. The first upgrade for each trap is worth it just to get it activated.

Once you've got a few abilities upgraded on the traps you use most, start focusing on Lightning, Teleport and Mac.
The reason there are few walkthroughs
Outside of a standard difficulty run, It really is difficult to show how to layout a map because of the variables of the upgrades.

Tower Defense is all about trying different layouts until you succeed and using that knowledge on future levels / maps.

I know this is a short guide, but hopefully it will help some approach this game a little differently than others.
