The life choices are an optional in game feature that randomly show 3 potential scenarios each with 3 responses to choose from. They can slightly benefit your character or hurt them depending on what you choose. If you want a specific buff, you can always restart the turn to get a different scenario from the other options.

Some choices are specific to a female play through only. Some choices might be missing, if you are unsure, restarting the day is always your best bet.

Most of the choices don't really impact you too much once in the later generations. But playing for the first time, it can greatly help.
