There are a total of 36 levels to play in Fantasy Battles with level 1 being unlocked from the start and the next being unlock once the previous has been completed (by winning the battle). A total of 36 achievements are on offer with 1 being unlocked for each of the 36 levels completed, completion time is in the region of 45 minutes.

Fantasy Battles is a battle simulation game much like UEBS, an enemy force of undead is located on one side of the map which you have to destroy with your human units to win the level. The type and number undead units is fixed for each map, you however have a set number of points with which you can buy various units as you see fit to battle against the undead.

On each level there will be a bridge (or two) and you will want to place your forces on the opposite side to the undead so that the bridge can be used as a choke point. The reason for this is you will be fighting with fewer but stronger units than the undead forces and by fighting on the bridge this will prevent you from being overwhelmed and wiped out, similar tactics to those used by the Spartans when they fought against invading Persian forces (apparently).

Of all the different types of unit there are only two that you will predominantly be using, Heavy Infantry B, which will be your frontline tanks, with high health and low damage and Mage B which will be your ranged damage dealers, which are fragile and need protection.

Sadly, there is no point in detailing exactly which and how many of each units to use for each level as the battles are entirely AI controlled and using the same forces twice on the same level will very likely lead to slightly different outcomes as even millimetre differences in unit placement can lead to a different outcome.

As such I have added below videos of my playthrough on all 36 levels for which you can use as a guide. The only additional assistance I can really offer is to say...

1. Make sure to spend as many of your placement points as possible, if you have 8 Heavy Infantry B and 8 Mage B, and have 70 points left over, buy an archer.

2. If your units wipe and you lose a level, replace a Mage or two with Heavy Infantry.

On a final note, at the time of writing, Steam is still "learning about this game" so achievements will not yet count towards profile totals, I'm somewhat unsure of the "learning" process, but given the mixed reviews, there is a risk the achievements may never count towards your profile totals.

WASD keys move the camera left, right, forwards and backwards.

Holding down the right mouse button (RMB) and moving the mouse will pan and tilt the camera.

(Sadly, there seems to be a lack of elevation controls, which is annoying).

The left mouse button (LMB) selects and places units.

Once the battle starts you only have control over the camera.
