For after seeing her lover, Red-Chan was able to control her body for 1 minute, saying "Kill me" so she wouldn't be able to bring anymore destruction upon the world. Blu-Senpai knew there was nothing they could do, so he shot her, after saying "I'm sorry, Red-Chan", making one of the most heartfelt scenes of the anime.

Even though this is not in the same universe as the original anime, the netflix adaptation had one good thing, which is the final scene, when Green-San tells Blu-Senpai that he is going to explode and kill everything on the planet with him. So to prevent that Blu-Senpai does shoot him and ends the movie on a black screen with the sfx of a gunshot and crying.
