Frequently Asked Questions
Q: After installing the patch, the crosshair has been replaced by a laser sight. How do I revert it?
A: Go to your Game Settings, turn Laser OFF, then go into Keyboard/Mouse Settings, change your control type to Type A or B.

Q: My game crashes as soon as I press any key. How can I solve this?
A: Try installing the prerequisite in the Download tab and attempt launching your game again. If this does not work, try removing the dinput8.dll and plugins folder.

Q: Can I combine this patch with maluc's most recent patch?
A: No, maluc's patch uses a different version of the maluc.dll which will cause a lot of conflicts and potential crashes.

Q: Is maluc's mml mod compatible with this patch?
A: No, maluc's mml was made specifically for version 2 of Capcom's official patch. This patch and maluc's patch are both based on version 1 which was the original release.

@Glavator xlive.dll is not necessary for our patch, nor the 1.2.0 official patch. Usually that's caused by using DisplayPort or even VGA instead of HDMI, even though it can still work fine for some people.
Someone claimed turning off your monitor while the game is launching should work.
No idea why this happens but it's a thing even with the original 2009 PC port, unless you used the DX10 version specifically.
If it turns out this is what's affecting you, I've never seen anyone with the issue try dxvk, in case you wanna give it a shot.

If you want to uninstall the patch after this, make sure you delete dinput8 and the plugins folder on top of verifying your game files to get rid of the wrong version message (or just do a clean install, which involves manually deleting any leftover files before reinstalling)

so I installed the patch but the game is still closing after I launch it. I have the xlive.dll file so i know its not that. Idk what else i can do to get the game to work.

@Anthony Please let me know if you push out that change in a test build. I would be happy to test it out as I have many a gyro supported controller.
Anthony  [author] 14 Jun @ 11:22pm
@TemporalPick Yeah, it's because it's not just one part of the code checking whether you're on M+K or controller, but rather several checks in say the camera code, the movement code and so on.
I can't test gyro myself but I will probably add a toggle in an .ini file to force specific changes that should hopefully make it feel more seamless.

@Cherry You're welcome

thank you anthony!

@Anthony I appreciate the response to my gyro question a while back, I only now saw your reply. That's a shame however that the game does that much BTS stuff when swapping inputs. If somehow you can implement forced mouse input at all times + laser pointer, that should allow the PC version to be in line with the Switch release regarding Gyro support, even if we have to use Steam Input to properly take advantage of it. Thanks!

anyone wanna play mercinaries with me, I'm very lonely I've never gotten to connect with anyone on it before :(
Anthony  [author] 13 Jun @ 6:56pm
@Abbanon Very late and you might not see this, but the reason it wasn't working for you was because one dinput8 file looks for .asi files, while ours looks for .dll files.
Just make sure to change it to QOL.asi or ResidentEvil5.FusionFix.dll and you're good
