googled the stuff (future you: google this yourself) and found those linkshttps://oxidemod.org/threads/couldnt-write-save-file-we-got-an-exception-system-io-ioexception.24147/

Check if you have space on the disk and google more if that doesnt solve your problem.
Might be our backups on systemdisk that has bloated up. Or something else.
Best of luck!
I did change the unrest status of my kingdom (changing it from "Unrest" to "Stable") and my money.
It did work. But then, after advancing a bit, quitting the game, and then loading the game... The loads didn't work anymore. All the loads of my character (even those previous to the change) and the loads of my other characters... I tried to uninstall/reinstall the game, and to do the Steam check of files, and neither of these worked.
The error message is :
"
Error : Win32 IO returned 112. Path : C:/Users/(blablabla)/Saved Games/DotNetZip-lkl09bx8.tmp at System.IO.FileStream.WriteInternal(System.Byte[] src, System.Int32 offset, System.Int32 count) [0x00077] in <7ba(blablabla, series of caracters)>:0
"
... Any ideas how to repair this ?
I would suggest you use that instead of using my hacks as it has more convenience of use and is updated unlike my guide.
I stopped playing the game about 6 months after release and that is well... a while ago.
Changes to files in save, like splitoff of several of the files and format has happened and the guide does not account for that at all.
I opened the json again to ensure the change took. When i loaded the game i had the same BP again. So apparently it didn't work.
Fairly sure I found those in memory with a memory editor and altered numbers on the fly so I didnt have to look in savefile and reload after changing numbers.
Anyways, Bag of Tricks should fix that and is way more up to date than this guide which was relevant about one year into release really.

However:
Finding and changing the event will be tricky work.
I suggest either using the bag of tricks mod to alter the tax effect if possible or scanning the player.json file for tax or similar and see if altering the taxes in either way rectify the problem.
