This mod works either stand-alone or as an add-on to either my Historical Religions mod or the Historical Religions Edit.

It splits Christianity into:

Catholicism
Protestantism
Anglicanism
Church of the East (Nestorianism)
Oriental Orthodoxy (Monophysitism)
Eastern Orthodoxy
Latter-day Saints/Mormonism (Restorationism)

The mod updates Ethiopia's preference to Oriental Orthodoxy, England’s religious preference to Anglicanism, and includes new religion icons and full civlopedia entries.

Note:
- Requires either the Gods and Kings or the Brave New World expansions.
- Updates to the mod will most likely break saved games. Do not update unless you are ready to start a new game.

@BODO Boinker please refrain from disparaging other belief systems in this thread. Regardless of your own personal religious views, LDS movements are largely classified as a form of Christianity and their beliefs overlap with a lot of other Restorationist Christian movements even if those beliefs don't overlap with what some call "mainstream" Christianity (i.e. Nicene Christianity).

@scott109 in what way do you mean that they are polytheistic? i can't speak for other groups calling themselves mormons, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, at least, is Christain, and does not worshop more then one god. we do belive in other heavenly beings, but we do not worshop them, they are gods family, so to speak. im feeling under the weather now, so i might not make a lot of sence, but i would be intrested in discussing it with anyone who cares to.

The Church of the East is all but dead, Oriental Orthodoxy and Eastern Orthodoxy are practically identical except for semantic differences in describing Christ's divine and human natures, Anglicanism is a form of protestantism, and Mormonism is a separate polytheistic religion.

Lutheranism uses the default Protestantism icon because the way the game's files work I can't delete a base game religion or it would cause problems so it needs to be repurposed. As Lutheranism is the largest disticnt branch not counting Anglicanism, it uses the base icon. The Refromed traditions are included under Calvinism and use a different icon.

Why does Lutheranism always get tossed in with the Reformed? Ugh. Totally missed opportunity with Luther's Seal, too. Great logo.

Jehova's Witnesses are planned to be added to the Civ VI version of this mod. I, unfortunately, am no longer able to do major updates to the Civ V version as I lost a lot of the modbuddy files when my old computer died
