Preface
So if I recall correctly, Viking has decided not to get the NEC: New York DLC. As he usually makes the Collectable Location guides, that would mean NEC: New York would not have a collectable guide. So, I've decided to make one myself, in the same general style as Viking.

The NEC: New York collectables are a set up bit different than usual, and pretty darn difficult to find in one go with the non-linear nature of the route in mind.

Here from XBOX or PS4? As I have been told, collectables are exactly the same on PC or console, feel free to share this guide to anyone on consoles!
Tips
As usual, it helps to reduce your foliage quality to find everything easier. Though if you are using the guide it should not be that hard to find even the collectables behind foliage. From other's reports, it seems that the foliage setting is still bugged, and the low setting does not keep foliage density low forever.

The guide starts in New Rochelle and heads South all the way to Waverly Yard. I recommend walking the length of the route for this one, as hopping on a Northeast Regional and stopping it a lot will jam up the mainline, and it can be a pain to reach certain collectibles near the freight only trackage when you are in an Amtrak train.

Collectables are also shown in North to South order, with the maps shown first, then the hazard cones, then the no trespassing signs. This means each section's pictures are organized, but it may not be the best path to take in order. Look at all the collectables in an area and plan out the course yorself. Regardless, all collectable locations have a collectable picture and a map picture, so hopefully it'll be easy to orient yourself in the correct location to find the collectable.

Of course, if you want to find the collectables on your own, go ahead and find what you can. The guide will be here for you later when there's that one thing you just can't find.
The Collectables
As with GWE and RT, NEC: New York has 3 types of collectables, 75 in total, and the 3 types are variations of collectables that have already existed.

Route Maps

Route maps that have not been collected are blank. Collecting them will replace the blank poster with a full map of the New York route.
There are 12 maps total, and all are exclusively found at stations. However, this does include stations and platforms that Amtrak does not stop at.

Potholes and Hazard Cones

Hazard cones that are not collected are just a crack in the pavement with water in it. Collecting one of these will place a hazard cone nearby.
There are 23 hazard cones in total, and they are all over the route on paved surfaces. Usually they will be on platforms or nearby lineside structures.
(Reference pictures for the hazard cones feature the collected cone rather than the uncollected pothole to make the location more obvious.)

No Trespassing Signs

A no trespassing sign that has not been collected is just a blank white metal plate. Collecting one will apply a "Danger: No Trespassing" message to the metal plate.
In total, 40 no trespassing signs are scattered everywhere on the route. These are the most numerous and most elusive collectable due to their small size. They are on fences and walls, usually on the edge of railroad property lines, though not always.

#1 New Rochelle
We begin in the general area of New Rochelle, there are a few collectables in and around the station to consider. In the general New Rochelle area, there are two of each collectable to find.

#1.5 New Rochelle - Oak Point (Mainline)
Unlike GWE and RT, the mainline in NEC New York has collectables scattered around. In between New Rochelle and Oak Point this includes four no trespassing signs and two hazard cones.

#2 Oak Point
The CSX trackage adds lots of extra places to search, but Oak Point has just one no trespassing sign and one hazard cone.

#3 Hunts Point
Hunts Point is not the quickest place to reach, I suggest just spawing in at Hunts Point to find these collectables. There is one no trespassing sign to find and three hazard cones to place. Someone better fix this pavement!

#4 Harlem River
Harlem River yard is also easier to reach if you just spawn in there in the first place. There are just a few collectables in the general area. One no trespassing sign and two hazard cones is all.

#4.5 Hell Gate
Only one no trespassing sign here, and in a pretty risky location. But Hell Gate is really just a mainline segment, so we can't expect that much to be there.

#5 Fresh Pond
Fresh Pond is far off the mainline, it really only makes sense to spawn walking here if you intend to collect the collectables around the NY&A's tracks. There are just two no trespassing signs to locate here.

#6 Sunnyside
Sunnyside is a sprawling mess with far too many well hidden collectables thrown around everywhere to be easily found. Be ready to spend a lot of time walking around here. Three safety cones to place, and seven no trespassing signs to find.

#7 New York Penn
New York Penn doesn't have a ton to find but the darkness and the two glitched no trespassing signs are of no help at all. Two maps to find, and three no trespassing signs out in the dark.

The no trespassing sign is there, but it has been placed too far back into the wall.
For this one, just rub up against the wall in this area to collect it.

#7.5 NY Penn - Secaucus (Mainline)
Back on the mainline again, there is a bunch to collect near the west portal of the river tunnels. Two hazard cones and two no trespassing signs.

#8 Secaucus Junction
Even though Secaucus Junction is not a station Amtrak should be stopping at....it's still a very detailed station, worth a look around even if not for the collectables in the area. There are three no trespassing signs around, two maps, and one hazard cone around.

Heads up, this map is in the upstairs portion of the station.

#8.5 Secaucus - Newark (Mainline)
This part of the mainline goes past the junction off to Hoboken and the PATH maintenance facility, so there is a lot of scenery with a few hidden things around. There are four no trespassing signs and one hazard cone hidden in this area.

#9 Harrison
For a platform not served by any trains DTG will ever make, Harrison has a lot to collect. You will need to climb onto the platforms from elsewhere as there is no spawn point at Harrison. Harrison has two maps, one hazard cone, and one no trespassing sign to locate.

#10 Newark Penn
Newark Penn actually has more to collect than New York Penn. Plus a pothole on platform H, which cannot be reached without trespassing on the light rail line's tracks. So, there are two maps, two hazard cones, then three no trespassing signs to find.

The only way to reach this hazard cone is by walking on the track that goes up to the high level platform and climbing up the platform steps. No clue why this is even here.

#11 Newark International Airport
There's actually quite a few more things to worry about in and around Newark International Airport's station. Two maps, two hazard cones, and four no trespassing signs.

#12 Waverly Yard
And despite the significant CSX trackage associated with it that is not present in the route, Waverly Yard is open for exploring. Just not much to do there without the other freight lines around except collect these collectables. Only one no trespassing sign and one hazard cone here.

Conclusion
My gosh it was hard to find all of these. The route may only be 40 miles total, but the sheer land area covered is huge, and the collectables blend in very well. I'd say only CSX was harder to find everything (when not using a guide) as the GWE and RT rule of all collectables on platforms made it very easy to know where everything could be. In this situation, if I didn't have a collectable, I couldn't even begin to guess where it was. I also like that not all collectable numbers are equal, though I bet thats because there simply aren't enough stations to fit in 25 maps.
At least there is an achievement for once!

NEC New York definitely has the most interesting assortment of collectables to find, makes for a real challenge!

This guide works still fine for the PC, but you can update the one at New York Penn that is in the wall. It has been fixed with a recent update, it is now visible on the same location.

And now I have 23/23 cones, so not sure what that extra sign is still?

So I got the achievement for getting everything finally. But, I got only 22/23 cones, yet 40/39 signs. Anyone else have that issue on Xbox?

I hate this so much, Walking Simulator 2020...

The hazard cone you assigned to Waverly yard is not at Waverly yard but at the other side of Newark International at the railraod crossing. Despite this, a great guide!
