There are a total of 15 achievements for Maze Lord, 12 of which you will earn as part of your natural progression in completing the 120 levels that the game has to offer, the remaining 3 require some effort... or rather require some grinding.


In Maze Lord, there are two types of trader, the first is found while playing a level that you can sell pickups to for one gold coin apiece, the second is accessible from the level select screen that will exchange treasure you find for power ups (which are the artifacts required for the achievements).

The first few artifacts you purchase will only cost 1 treasure each, then 2, then 5 and the more you purchase the higher the cost and by the time you have purchased 20, the trader will be asking for more than a dozen of two different treasures for just one artifact.

So how do you obtain treasures ?

During your play through at the end of each level you complete you get to open a chest as a reward which will contain one random treasure item (candle stick, cup, necklace, ring, skull etc), these treasures alone will get you around 12 artifacts, a long way off your target.

The second source of treasures is by completing treasury runs. At some point during your play through (not sure exactly when) blue chests will start to appear on the level select screen which will indicate a treasury run is available to play.



A treasury run level is identical to a normal play through, the layout / puzzle does not differ, the difference is when you complete the level instead of going back to the level select screen you enter a large open room with 3 to 5 treasures for you to loot.

It should be noted that you get ONE chance to complete each treasury run, if you fail the level, die or restart you will not get access to the treasury room when you complete the level. (Note, if the exit is sparkling you will have access to the treasury when you complete the level, if it is just black, you messed up).

Once treasury runs become active every 4 or 5 levels you complete (grind) will open a new treasury run to play, which will be on a randomly selected level that you have previously completed. During your play through of the 120 levels in Maze Lord you should get access to about 15 treasury runs, sadly, even with 3 to 5 treasures on offer in each one, you will still be well short of your goal.

So now what ?, well this is where the grind begins.

Don't restart a new game, your progress will not transfer, sadly to obtain more treasures you will have to grind levels to open up more treasure room runs, you can replay any level or levels you like and every 4 or 5 levels you complete will offer a new treasure run.

Depending on your luck (and skill) you can expect to have to spend about another hour in game to polish off the achievements, annoying... yes, but such is the way of the achievement hunter's life.
