Overview
This guide will help players figure out the complicated, and in many ways, convoluted (without a guide) Bazaar system of Final Fantasy TZA (XII).

Over the years I have used an amalgamation of notes, guides, and FAQ's, as well as the Ultimania, to create my own system of figuring out what to sell, and when. I wanted to have all this information in one spot as not to constantly consult a multitude of different sources.

So I created a simple three page document I would print out before every play-through so I could cross out what I sold so I could keep track. I will include these documents in this guide, as well as the full printout of the Bazaar recipes. This way you can have a hard copy of quick reference information instead of having to tab out. The more detailed information will be in this guide.

The goal of this guide is to have all this information, in one place, for the PC community.

This will be a SPOILER FREE Guide.

Throughout the guide I will mention 'Vanilla' or 'IZJS'. Vanilla refers to Final Fantasy XII (PS2 2006) release, the original western release of the game. IZJS refers to Final Fantasy XII - International Zodiac Age System (PS2 2007) Japanese-Only release of the game. The version which The Zodiac Age is based on.

*Disclaimer*
I am currently playing through TZA on PC. So this information is entirely based on Final Fantasy XII - International Zodiac Job System. As I play through I will update any difference in names. TZA is, to my knowledge exactly the same mechanically, as IZJS.

There have been some name changes I am currently aware of and I will be updating as I go. But the core information remains the same.

So as stated before in my previous guide; please do not contact me if you find a name difference in the game from what you see in the guide. There will be conflicts in this regard. I will update the names as I progress through the game if need be.

*Update* 3-17-18

I've finally gotten around to updating some names. Bazaar packs that include an item that has been renamed in TZA will have that name now listed. It's important to note I have left in the original IZJS name as well, and it is italicized. You do not get multiple items.

Again, this guide is based on Final Fantasy XII - International Zodiac Job System as mentioned before, the game The Zodiac Age is based on.
Contents
This should be a comprehensive guide on the topic of the Bazaar, Loot, and pretty much everything that goes along with it.

This Guide Will Include

  • All Bazaar Recipes
  • All Loot Quantities
  • Tips and Tricks

The Bazaar's recipe system is extremely cryptic if you attempt to figure it out in-game. Recipes are hinted at via the Bestiary system. Once you get enough kills for an entry a second page on said entry will unlock. Sometimes its lore information, sometimes it's a hint at a Bazaar Recipe. Either way, figuring this stuff out without a guide is a lesson in futility, either that or you're akin to Sherlock Holmes.

Many recipes you will get hap-haphazardly by selling the loot you pick up from enemies. However the more rare, and rewarding ones you most certainly will not.

Also, randomly selling loot can actually be detrimental. Some loot is extremely rare, and randomly selling it can set you back hours.

Also, certain recipes can be done multiple times, and any excess loot can be wasted.

There are also methods to save loot by having it count towards multiple Bazaar Packages at once. Which is a massive time-saver. We will be going over all of this in this guide.

Mechanics
Final Fantasy XII has an interesting loot mechanic. Unlike all other entries in the series the majority of drops from enemies aren't usable items in the traditional way. They are essentially currency that you turn in. You get Gil in return, but they also unlock new items if you sell the correct amount and/or combinations.

It's a pretty interesting system that I really enjoy. I'm a glutton for punishment so I usually do 100% of the recipes each play through regardless if I need the item or not. If you're like me, then this guide is for you.

Bulk Selling Quantities
If you sell off loot in bulk you need to be aware of how exactly the Bazaar keeps track of loot sold.

For example Dark Crystal is used in five recipes, you need a total of 43 Dark Crystals to unlock all five recipes individually. If you sold 99 Dark Crystals, then unlocked a Bazaar Recipe that used 10 of those Dark Crystals, you'd still have 89 Dark Crystals in the 'Loot Pool'. Yet those 10 sold are in "Loot Limbo" (see below).

However...

There is the catch though. If you buy the Pack that you just unlocked then the 10 Dark Crystals in Loot Limbo are removed, AS WELL AS the remaining 89 Dark Crystals. This is why you need to be aware of what and how many Loot Items you've sold, as to not waste time re-farming.

Loot in Limbo
As stated above the loot when sold goes into a pool. This pool is not changed until a certain condition are met. The example above had 10 Dark Crystals go towards a loot Package which was unlocked. So 10 of the 99 Dark Crystals are now in Loot Limbo. The 10 Dark Crystals in 'Loot Limbo' can be counted for any other recipe that uses Dark Crystals until any Bazaar Package that contained those Dark Crystals are purchased. This is referred to as the "Vendoring Trick". There is a section of the guide dedicated to this trick.

This is one of the reasons I wait to sell loots in this game. Also I tend to use the Vendoring Trick on a lot of multiple loot recipes.

Sometimes, for whatever in reason, Vanilla and IZJS the game would sometimes not register you sold something. Due to this I generally don't sell my loot off until I am ready to do so, even One-Shot loot. If I know its very easy to get more of I will however if I'm in need of Gil early-game. This is just me, you don't have to do this, I just like to be better safe than sorry.

I've actually sold all the items in "Vendor Trick In All It's Glory" (Info Below) to a vendor and it did not unlock everything. I reloaded the save, did it again, it worked just fine. So Save Before Vendoring I cannot emphasis this enough.

Tips and Vendoring Trick
Tips
  • Don't sell until you're ready
  • Make sure you know what you can steal from Trophy Game and Marks. You can only kill them once, but you can steal from them indefinitely. As long as you zone two zones away and return. Some have extremely rare loot to be had that can save hours of farming time. Trophy/Rare Game only ever have one item to steal, it is a very rare steal. So you will fail stealing from them quite often. Just keep at it, you'll eventually get it.
  • Save before you vendor loot needed in high end or rare recipes, i.e. Tournesol.
  • Become familiar with what loot is common. Common loot will be your biggest source of Gil early-mid game.

Vendoring Trick
Knowing how to do this will be the biggest time saver in the game, in regards to the Bazaar.

This is a variation on the Selling In Bulk information I mentioned in the "Mechanics" section of the guide.

First lets go over how the games decides to give you an item.

Assorted Leathers
Loot Sold
2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt
Contains
Leather Breastplate, Leather Headgear
Cost
300 Gil
Description
Matching pair of leather goods, guaranteeing comfort both in the bazaar and on the battlefield.

This is a very low tier recipe. The pack's name is Assorted Leathers.

So when you sell 2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt to any vendor it will unlock 'Assorted Leathers' in the 'Bazaar' section of the Vendor menu. From there if you want it, you need to purchase it from the Bazaar section of the Vendor menu.

The pack costs 300 Gil, and it contains Leather Breastplate, Leather Headgear. Once you buy it, its gone for good. If you sell those loot items again, it Will Not reappear in the Bazaar menu, as this particular pack is not repeatable.

Pretty easy right? Right.

However to get more bang for your buck you can combine Packs.

Assorted Leathers
Loot Sold
2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt
Contains
Leather Breastplate, Leather Headgear
Cost
300 Gil
Description
Matching pair of leather goods, guaranteeing comfort both in the bazaar and on the battlefield.

Unassuming Surcoat
Loot Sold
Earth Stone, 2x Wolf Pelt
Contains
Chromed Leathers
Cost
100 Gil
Description
Simple surcoat, stitched from choice pieces of leather.

Let's take a look at these two recipes. First up is the Assorted Leathers from earlier, and we have a new one, Unassuming Surcoat pack. All we are focused on at this time is the Loot Sold.

Recipe #1
2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt

Recipe #2
Earth Stone, 2x Wolf Pelt

You will notice straight away that both recipes require Wolf Pelts. This is what I call a Connecting Loot item

Why is this important?

It's based on how the game calculates rewards. The game uses a really simple mechanic when determining if you unlock a reward or not.

Did the player sell the required Items for X Bazaar Package? Yes/No

Yes = You unlock the reward. Items sold connected to that Bazaar package unlocked enter Loot Limbo.

No = Nothing is unlocked, but the item sold will go into a pool of that loot type.

That's all it checks. So you can take advantage of this.

How you ask?

If you sell in bulk properly we can get more for each item sold.

So if you sold;
2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt

Because you sold the required amount for the Assorted Leathers Pack, that pack would unlock.

However;

If you sold 2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt plus 1 Earth Stone

Both Assorted Leathers AND Unassuming Surcoat would unlock.

But if you backed out AFTER unlocking Assorted Leathers, went to the Bazaar Menu and bought the Assorted Leathers Pack. Then sold a single Earth Stone, it would NOT unlock Unassuming Surcoat.

But why?

Well, let's take a look what it looks like when selling items.

Check #1 - Dark Stone 2X
Check #2 - Tanned Hide 2X
Check #3 - Wolf Pelt 2X
Check #4 - Earth Stone

These items are sold to a vendor and all the values are now in 'Loot Limbo', and will remain there until a Bazaar Pack that contains those loot items is purchase by the player. The game looks at whats sold, and compares it to available recipes that contain said loot items.

And it determines this;
Check 1-3 is the required amount to Unlock Assorted Leathers
Check 3&4 is the required amount to Unlock Unassuming Surcoat

It doesn't check the total values needed for both recipes, it checks the total values of what's needed individually. It then checks that against what items are in the Loot Pool. Therefore, based on that method of checking, it's enough to unlock both recipes. Once it determines the values are sufficient to unlock Bazaar Recipes, the items are sent to Loot Limbo, then the Bazaar Packs are unlocked. Again, once the pack(s) are bought by the player, the Loots in Loot Limbo are removed from the game, and any other loot of the same type has its counter reset to 0, regardless of how many of those said loot items you have previously sold.

It's imperative you not buy any unlocked Bazaar Package until you've sold all the items you need to unlock multiple packs. If you do, this method will not work.

Also, the connecting loot item doesn't need to be the same value. So let's pretend the previous two recipes were a little different.

Recipe #1
2x Dark Stone, Tanned Hide, 2x Wolf Pelt

Recipe #2
Earth Stone, 1x Wolf Pelt

You'll notice that Recipe #2 only needs one Wolf Pelt.

So as long as you sold the same values as earlier in this example you'd still get both rewards.

This is because you sold two Wolf Pelts, and when checking the values the second recipe only required one, so you sold enough. As long as you sold a loot item quantity equal or greater than the maximum needed in any connected recipe, the pack is unlocked

Because buying the Bazaar packs unlocked resets Loot Limbo, as well as the total number of any given loot item back to 0 I generally hold onto everything then sell it all at the same time. Then buy when everything is sold.

So that's a long winded explanation, I hope it makes sense.
Vendoring Trick In All Its Glory
Let's take a look at where this Trick REALLY shines.

The Sunflower
Loot Sold
3x Empyreal Soul, 3x Gemsteel, 3x Serpentarius
Contains
Tournesol
Cost
600,000 Gil
Description
A single, beautiful sunflower. Brilliant as the sun, wondrous as creation.

Magepower Helm
Loot Sold
5x Charger Barding, 2x Chimera Head, Feystone
Contains
Magepower Shishak
Cost
7,500 Gil
Description
Heavy armor though it be, this helm is strongly magicked. A worthy choice for those knights who rely upon more than just the steel of their blades.

Master-crafted Blade
Loot Sold
2x Gemsteel, 2x Mallet, 3x Orichalcum
Contains
Kumbha (Masamune I)
Cost
350,000 Gil
Description
A red zigzag pattern runs the length of the blade, weaving its way across delicate inlay.

Darksteel Blade
Loot Sold
2x Chimera Head, 2x Orichalcum, 3x Taurus Gem
Contains
Stoneblade
Cost
17,800 Gil
Description
A cruel blade forged for battle, its very shape a violence.

Sturdy Battle Gear
Loot Sold
4x Charger Barding, 3x Pisces Gem, 2x Split Armor
Contains
Maximillian
Cost
8,000 Gil
Description
Armor of the highest quality, crafted by masters of their art, its materials and design carefully selected to provide surpassing resilience.

Here are five extremely High end recipes. In fact The Sunflower, and Master-Crafted Blade are the highest tier you can get. There is a common theme through all five of these recipes.

The Sunflower and Master-Crafted Blade both use Gemsteel

Master-crafted Blade and Darksteel Blade both use Orichalcum

Darksteel Blade and Magepower Helm both use Chimera Head

Magepower Helm and Sturdy Battle Gear both use Charger Barding

So with selling
3x Empyreal Soul, 3x Gemsteel, 3x Serpentarius, 5x Charger Barding, 2x Chimera Head, X1 Feystone, 2x Mallet, 3x Orichalcum, 3x Taurus Gem, 3x Pisces Gem, 2x Split Armor
You will net all five of these bazaar packs.

Which is a savings of;
2x Gemsteel, 1x Orichalcum, and 1x Chimera Head, 1x Charger Barding

Saving you a ridiculous amount of time. Gemsteel is a pain to make.

Do Not Sell Items
Key Loot
Do not, under any circumstances sell these items! Nearly every one is a quest item that you really don't want to sell. If you sell them, it's not game breaking, but you will miss out on some minor items.

  • Bhujerban Madhu
  • Black Orb
  • Centurio Hero's Badge
  • Great Serpentskin
  • Jaya Stick
  • Valeblossom Dew
  • Nebralim
  • Semclam Shell
  • Small Package
  • Teleport Stone

So what are these items for?

Bhujerban Madhu - This is a quest item made for getting Gil. If you vendor it, you get 250 Gil. However if you turn it into a NPC you will get 1,000 Gil. There are 14 total in the game. More info on this in my Maps and Chests Guide under the Bhujerba entry on the last map.

Black Orb - Pharos Subterra progression

Centurio Hero's Badge - Medal for being a Bad Mamma Jamma

Great Serpentskin - Patient in the Desert sidequest. Selling it and you'll miss out on some minor items.

Jaya Stick - Quest item for the village of Jahara. You can do three things with this. Sell it, Give it to an NPC, or Keep it. I added it here as there was no other place to put it. Keeping it yields no reward. Selling it nets the Killer Bow and Onion Arrows. Giving it to the appropriate NPC yields Recurve Crossbow and Onion Bolts.

Valeblossom Dew - Patient in the Desert sidequest. Selling it and you'll miss out on some minor items.

Nebralim - Patient in the Desert sidequest. Selling it and you'll miss out on some minor items.

Semclam Shell - Patient in the Desert sidequest. Selling it and you'll miss out on some minor items.

Small Package - If you sell it, you get a whopping 150 Gil. If you turn it in to the appropriate NPC, you get nothing. Many players just hang on to it indefinitely for completionist reasons. This is the only exception, you can sell if you really want to.

Teleport Stone - These are used to travel between Orange Save Crystals. You can sell them, but there really isn't any reason to do so.
Vendor Trash Loot
This is the loot that you can sell without worry as none of it is used in any recipe, or quest.

The Fishing Mini Game Loot
  • Common Fish
  • Delicious Fish
  • Empty Bottle
  • Nebra Succulent
All this loot is for is making you feel bad for not getting what you were actually after. Sell it with extreme prejudice.

Common No-Recipe Loot
  • Holy Magicite
  • Holy Stone
  • Pebble
  • Storm Stone
  • Turtle Shell
You will find this loot a lot on your adventure. It's not used in anything other than to make GIl. Sell it.
Do Not Sell - Until You're Ready!
This loot is either extremely rare, used in multiple recipes, used in recipes that are repeatable, or all three. It's best not to sell any of these items until you're ready as you can loose hours of game play on an accidental vendoring.

With all of that said, some of these loot items are very easy to get, and I will go over which those are. For the sake of backtracking I generally keep the amount needed for any and all recipes for those given loot items until I am ready to craft the item(s) I am after. If I don't mention its common, it means it's extremely rare.

  • Arcana
  • Behemoth Steak
  • Damascus Steel
  • Demon's Sigh
  • Empyreal Soul
  • Eye of the Hawk
  • Feystone
  • Gemsteel
  • Hell-Gate's Flame
  • High Arcana
  • Orichalcum
  • Rainbow Egg
  • Scarletite
  • Serpentarius
  • Serpent Eye
  • Snake Skin
  • Soul Powder
  • Soul of Thamasa
  • Wargod's Band

So what are they for?
Let's go over that now!

Arcana - Common drop once you acquire the Canopic Jar item. It used in two recipes, one of which is to make High Arcana, which is a repeatable recipe. The other is a for the Accessory, Hermes Sandals.

Behemoth Steak - Very common drop mid-game. Used in one repeatable recipe for X10 X-Potions.

Damascus Steel - Used in making Gemsteel, which is used in two high-end recipes, Tournesol and Kumbha (Masamune I).

Demon's Sigh - Rather common drop, used in one repeatable recipe for Vaccine X10.

Empyreal Soul - Used in one high-end recipe to make Tournesol.

Eye of the Hawk - Rather common drop, used in one repeatable recipe to make X10 Chronos Tears.

Feystone - Rather common drop used in two recipes. One repeatable recipe to make High Arcana, and one for the Magepower Shishak.

Gemsteel - Used in two high-end recipes, Kumbha (Masamune I) and Tournesol.

Hell-Gate's Flame - Used in one repeatable recipe to make Gemsteel.

High Arcana - Used in multiple repeatable recipes; Elixir, Megalixir, Empyreal Soul, and Serpentarius.

Orichalcum - Used in two high-end recipes. Kumbha (Masamune I) and Stoneblade.

Rainbow Egg - Rather common drop, used in a repeatable recipe to make X10 Hi-Potions.

Scarletite - Used in one repeatable recipe to make Gemsteel.

Serpentarius - Used in one high-end recipe to make Tournesol.

Serpent Eye - Rather common drop, used in one repeatable recipe to make Serpentarius.

Snake Skin - Used in one recipe to make Serpentarius. This is rather common drop/steal, early game. However there there are limited spawns of the mob that drops it. You do have to go out of your way to get enough drops for all the recipes. I don't sell, as to not have to backtrack.

Soul Powder - Used in one repeatable recipe to make Empyreal Soul.

Soul of Thamasa - Used in one repeatable recipe to make High Arcana.

Wargod's Band - Used in one repeatable recipe to make Empyreal Soul.
Single Recipe Loot
Here is a Big ol' List of items that you can sell whenever you want. They are used in a single recipe. I put the quantity needed for each item. I HIGHLY recommend printing off the Googedoc in the Printable section so you can cross out what you've sold. This makes keeping track of this loot much easier.

Monograph's and Canopic Jar
These items aren't your traditional Bazaar recipes, so I am making a different category for them. Once you purchase these items they add loot drops to specific enemy types. You can get all the Monograph's unlocked at the beginning the game as soon as the shops unlock and you finish the second Hunt. However you won't be able to afford them for a bit. The Canopic Jar requires a bit more work.

All the Monograph's are tagged as 'Forgotten Grimoire'. You can tell them apart before you buy by the selling price. Buy all of these as soon as you can.

Closing
This concludes the Bazaar Guide. If you find any errors please let me know in the comments below or via PM. There was a lot of information to transfer from my notes and its possible stuff got jumbled. Again, if there is a name conflict with TZA I will address these as I progress through the game.

This guide is meant to be used in concert with my other two guides;
Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age - Comprehensive Loot Guide
Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age - Maps and Chests Guide

*EDITS*
Feb 15th - Special thanks to Steam user mysticlordjack For pointing out the absents of Green Liquid in the Multiple Recipe Loot Which upon further investigation was a data entry error. I entered the values for the Giant Feather as the value for the Green Liquid, this has been fixed. Printable Documents should not have been affected.

Feb 22nd - Special thanks to reddit user EzioSC5 for pointing out the Typo on Canopic Jar's price, it would have been a bargain at 25K Gil!

Feb 22nd - Also EzioSC5 pointed out a long standing error of the requirements of the Bazaar package 'Burnished Protectives'. The cost is 4 Earth Magicite, not Earth Stones as I had listed. This makes Earth Magicite a Single Recipe Loot now. I have corrected the error in this guide, as well as the printable documents. I apologize for this error. It's quite amazing how it went unnoticed in the GameFAQ's community for over a decade.

May 8th Special thanks to Detective Pikachu UwU ™ for pointing out I forgot '2 Split Armor and 5x Charger Barding' in "Vendoring Trick In All Its Glory" section. Sorry it took so long to fix!

Oct. 31st 2019
Special thanks to WizziPop for pointing out I forgot to add Grimoire Aidhed and Grimoire Togai to the Single-use Item.
Special thanks to Mere-chan for pointing out that I had misunderstood what WizziPop was talking about.

Nov. 20th 2019
Special thanks to adnam for catching that I forgot to remove one entry for Earth Stones after the Burnished Protectives update. Updated guide and Printable version.

March 15th 2022
Google Docs have been removed due to Steam flagging them as potentially malicious and contain viruses. I will be removing all links to Google Docs from all my guides. I apologize if anyone was wanting to use these but it has become more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks so much for the quick and thorough responses.

I just tested it and it works as we discussed. As long as you don't purchase from the Bazaar you only have to sell the highest amount of a loot item that unlocks multiple bazaar recipes, not the cumulative number. This changes things a lot for my completion checklists, so I'd have to make those adjustments.

P.s I'l explain the +1 confusion from my first comment. I need to collect the amount of loot needed to unlock the recipe, plus 1 to keep in my inventory after selling as part of the completion challenge.

I guess I should have read my own guide lol Getting old sucks bud. Yeah I re-read what I wrote in the guide, and I just remembered it wrong. It's the highest value. As long as you meet that criteria you should be fine. I mis-remembered the backing out of the menu thing from a different conversation I had years ago.

Like I say in the guide, it's a binary thing yes or no. Time, other sales, doesn't matter. In your example if you sell 5 Water Stones + everything else, you get both. If you sell 4 it will unlock Rain of Tears. If you sell one more it will unlock Traveler's Garb as long as you never bought Rain of Tears. That's how I remember it, but it's been years since I really played this game. If you can, test it.

Every time you buy a package that has any item it, that item is then always set to 0. Even if you sold 99 previously and only need 2 for a recipe.

The expanded Water Stone example.

Rain of Tears = Yensa Scale x1, Green Liquid x3, Water Stone x4
Traveler's Garb = Braid Wool x2, Tanned Hide x2, Water Stone x5

I sell the following with hours of gameplay and selling different loot in between, but never buy packages from the Bazaar:

1. 5x Water Stone
2. 1x Yensa Scale
3. 2x Tanned Hide
4. 3x Green Liquid -> Unlock Rain if Tears
5. 2x Braid Wool

Assuming I never sold Water Stones after 1, will I now unlock Traveler's Garb? Ie. will the Water Stones reset at step 4 or not. Again I am not purchasing anything from the Bazaar, so according to the "Vendoring Trick" paragraph this should work: "It's imperative you not buy any unlocked Bazaar Package until you've sold all the items you need to unlock multiple packs. If you do, this method will not work."

Second post with an example coming up.

Thank for the elaborate response. My confusion comes from the guide saying "These items are sold to a vendor and all the values are now in 'Loot Limbo', and will remain there until a Bazaar Pack that contains those loot items is purchase by the player." My understanding here is that if I unlock the Bazaar Pack, but never buy it, the loot used to unlock it will remain in Loot Limbo and can be used later in the game to unlock a linking Bazaar Pack without having to sell it again.

Your comment explains that the Loot Limbo is cleared when the "new bazaar item available" pops up. Which is different than the guide stated (and how I believe the system worked).

So you need to be very mindful that when you sell items that have multiple recipes, and you want to unlock all at the same time with the lowest amount of common items you need to;

1. Sell the highest value of the common item.
2. Sell or have previously sold all other items needed for all recipes.

If you sold A, B, X and Y, but 0 to one less that the lowest amount needed - in this case 1 Water Stone - this will be fine. Once you sell one more Water Stone, you will unlock one recipe, but not the one that needs 4 total Water Stones. But if you sold 3 more, then both would unlock.

It's a convoluted method. This is why I suggested if you really want to unlock all recipes, with the lowest effort needed, then you need to hold off on selling any item that is in this Multiple Recipe Loot. That being said, most items are fairly easy to acquire, and isn't overly important. I hope this answers your question, if not let me know.

Multi Post Incoming due to character length.

No, the menu closing only applies to the final step of the recipe. So let's say you have two recipes you want to do at the same time. Both contain Water Stones. One requires 2 the other requires 4. Recipe 1 has X and Y items as well. Recipe 2 has A and B items.

If you sell 4 Water Stones, X, Y, and A. This will only fulfill one recipe because you didn't sell B. If you back out of the menu at this point the alert that you have a new bazaar item available will pop up, and this will reset all items in loot limbo. So in this example the Water Stones are now at a value of 0, as well as everything else in both recipes.
Let's say you did all of the above, and also sold item B. This would unlock both bazaar items.

Sorry for the confusion. The question was, if I don’t purchase from the Bazaar,
can I sell only the highest amount of a loot item if it is used and much later the other loot. Since it seemed that if you don’t purchase from bazaar the loot pool and loot limbo are not cleared. But if you go out of the menu they are cleared as well? I will do some testing myself as well

@Corbolu - So I understand your question correctly you're asking about the Vendoring Trick to get more than one Bazaar item at a time, correct?

If so it's not +1. It's the highest value of a multi-item Bazaar recipe. So if two items require Water Stones, let's say one requires 2, the other requires 4. All you need to sell is 4 - as long as you also sell the the other require items at the same time it will unlock both packages. You cannot back out of the menu before you sell all required items though.

Does this answer your question?

Thanks for this amazing guide. For my PS4 TZA completion run, one rule is to unlock every bazaar entry, but you can only buy items that cannot be obtained in another way.

1. I calculated the loot needed as being number needed to unlock + 1. Ie, for Wind Stone 4 (3 + 1) and Water Stone 10 (4 + 5 + 1). Seeing that I will not be buying the resulting recipes, this would mean that I only need to collect 6 Water Stones instead of 10.

2. I wait until I get the last loot piece for a bazaar recipe, before I sell the exact amounts. If I understand correctly, that is also not needed. Ie. as soon as I have 6 Water Stones I can sell them and they will stay available to unlock recipes the rest of the game. I will need to be careful with recipes I will be buying.

Can you confirm that both are correct, so I can rewrite my completion checklist, and my completion route? My guide can be found at https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasyXII/comments/1f9tfx2/the_most_comprehensive_completion_checklist/

@oldrepublic001 Thanks for you kind words. To answer your question about earliest loot the answer is no. I actually go over this in my companion guide "Final Fantasy XII - The Zodiac Age - Comprehensive Loot Guide". There are a few reasons I don't do this, so if you want to pop over to that guide and see the reasons it's under the "What's Not Covered" section.

That being said FF12Grand Master has a guide that goes over this. However, it was made for FFXII Vanilla, but it's still roughly 95% accurate - if you can find that guide anymore. I did a quick look and didn't find anything at GameFAQ's where he originally uploaded it too like 16 years ago lol.

If you want to really get everything as early as possible you are making the game much more difficult, just my two cents on the topic.
