You've started downloading the game I assume, so I suppose you don't need me to tell you how to do that.

- Navigate to the top right of your screen, manage to press the settings button (if you press something else you can still use your ESC key), select controls from the next list, and then select Mouse & Keyboard from the Active Controllers list.

That gone, you have nothing left stopping you from getting into this game (barring optimization issues for some of you).


START A SINGLEPLAYER GAME

Select "New Game" -> Exploration map preset -> Play -> (Create your character now) -> Play -> (Name your world now)

Your world will load now.

START A CO-OP GAME

Select "New Game" -> Exploration map preset -> Play -> (Create your character now) -> Play -> (Name your world now)
Players will have to go to multiplayer and search you up by your world name so keep it original.

Press ESC in-game, go to Multiplayer, and set up your settings.



You want to set the game to be visible to everyone. The playercount shouldn't matter overmuch. I recommend a password that isn't 'password'. Set the game to joinable, and you are good to go!


OFFICIAL SERVER

Warning: Currently mired by griefers and lag. I recommend hosting your own!

Navigate to the multiplayer tab of your main menu and enter into a server with the "[OFFICIAL]" tag before the name. You can use the search bar to find specific server names.

FRIEND'S GAME

Click on the Multiplayer option on your main menu. There should be a search bar below the 'World Name' option. Use this to search for the name of your friend's world. BUG: It will make you type a single letter and then reclick again.

Warning: The search bar is glitchy and can only be refreshed using the 'World Name' button instead of clicking enter on your keyboard. Some friends games will not appear and you must search via alphabetical order.

1) Try deselecting the 'In my Region' option to play with friends in different time zones!
2) Search by scrolling through the list server by server!

- Don't be afraid, this is just a feature called local chat. Your server and your client are perfectly fine. Get within 'earshot' of other players to speak using text chat!

You've started into your first singleplayer game. Right now you should be seeing this:



The bar on the bottom is your hotbar. To the left you have your hands, used for punching/gathering/resting. 2-9 are your regular hotbar slots. 0 is your dynamic hotbar slot used for building, taming, and a few other things we'll get into.

On the top left you have your hearts. You have five, and yes they go down quick when you face off against even a wolf. As with any survival game: air on the side of caution. Hunger and cold will decrease your health slowly (quicker if wet and cold) while damage from animals can do a heart and a half at a time.

First/Third Person: press the 'C'

DEV NOTE: They are still working on first person, however they did give third person a lot of love, so be patient!

CRAFTING AN AXE

By now you will need wood, so let's craft an axe.
You need to gather three things:
- A stick
- A rock
- Three pieces of grass for rope
They look like the following...

Grass comes in multiple green types, like these:


Sticks look like this on the ground and can also be gathered from trees by right clicking them up close:


Rocks come in two types: big (right) and small (left). You need to put a hammer to the big one for a long time:

Press TAB to open your crafting menu

You are looking to craft the grass rope in the red markup I drew with to eventually craft the axe in the yellow markup. Items that are highlighted red cannot yet be crafted, but items in blue are craftable. The amount of items you can craft are in the bottom right.
To craft you can RIGHT CLICK or click craft in the bottom left.



Items you lose or gain will be in the bottom right of your screen (sorry for the windows overlay):



Use your axe on a tree by left clicking it while selected in your hotbar.



WARNING: Trees can fall on things including you and kill you.



Trees must then be chopped apart and their items collected. They drop resin, seeds, bark, logs, sticks, and wood pieces. Destroying the stump will yield wood pieces.

Use these wood pieces to craft and unlit campfire. It will ask you to place it down opening a screen like this one...



Get used to this building screen, you will need it to survive. The info is on the righthand side of your screen and allows you to rotate it at any axis.

I hope you didn't wait until nightfall because now you need to find flint (tiny little stones).



Use two of those to craft a flint lighter. Equip it in your hotbar and light the campfire. The campfire can be used to craft some roasted fruit. For this we need berries. They have larger and smaller bushes. Here's an example of the larger bush.

Notice the black dots, those are the berries. On other bushes they may be purple or red.

Now that you have that out of the way you probably still need food. Keep gathering berries or if you are on a tropical island you might be able to find things like these:

Next I recommend clothing, in the form of grass of course. You will need a total of 21 grass. Make two ropes, and then craft the clothing and equip it using right click.

Finally I recommend crafting a knife (3 grass for a rope, 1 flint). Make a pole using a single stick and some of the durability on the knife. Transform that into a spear. Congrats! You have your first weapon.

Disclaimer: Editing voxels around certain objects like torches and farm crops will likely delete them. Plan ahead when terraforming!

Wooden Tools & Weapons

Bow Drill
Used to create campfires from sticks or light cooking spots/crafting stations aflame.
Recipe:

Stone Mortar
This is an essential tool used in crafting recipes ranging from medical supplies, to pigments, to food.

Stone Hammer
A hammer is by far the most versatile tool in your arsenal. It can be used at a smithy to craft armors, tear down building blocks efficiently, and break apart those pesky stones in your garden.

Stone Mace
The stone mace is your first swing towards weaponry. It is slightly more expensive than the spear, making it less practical. It is short range btw.

Stone Spear
It may cost you some durability on your knife, but you get a range bonus!

This knife doubles as a weak durability weapon or a precious tool for crafting.

Benefit: Disassembling stone knives returns your precious flint. Left click on the knife when it is broken to pull up this option.

Iron Axe
Mostly used for chopping down trees more efficiently than a stone axe.

Iron Shovel
For simply flattening terrain, it can be tempermental and it sometimes requires you to add in additional voxels to finish the job.

Iron Spade
If you ever need to speedily clear terrain this is your tool. I used it to excavate my harbor.

A tool for cutting up felled trees and crafting wooden building supplies.

A more durable counter-part to your stone knife. It can also deal more damage. This tool is required by a lot of recipes.

Iron Bow
Does more damage than the crossbows, but has a steeper arrow drop-off. Shoots stone arrows!

Iron Crossbow
While dealing less damage than a bow, the crossbow is able to land more shots since it has less bolt drop-off. Shoots stone bolts!

Iron Crossbow Pistol

Weather and its Effects
Storms in this game are wild. They affect your building, your sailing, and even your lighting. They have amazing noises that aren't predictable and come in varying intensities. So far I've seen:
- Sunny: Clear skies, calm waters.
- Stormy: Has light rains, grey skies, choppy waters, and is virtually soothing.
- Monsoon: It rains sideways, dark skies, can't see past your peg leg, lightning and thunder crack like Thor's wrath, churned waters that might be able to sink rafts, and your light sources will be doused.

Unstuck Command
Using /unstuck 0 or /unstuck 1 while on a boat may put you on a different island. I'm currently a victim of this right now.

Fog
Easy on the eyes, but it may inhibit your ability to sail!


Nightfall
Casts long shadows, would be best if you stopped sailing for the night (unless it is storming).

Crafting recipes unlock based off you having found their requiremed items. Kinda annoying? Yeah I suppose, however it helps with progression and keeping first timers engaged.

Welcome to my humble hovel of crafting.



KNIFE
First off, the knife, unlocks a lot of recipes. It requires one grass rope and one flint. Get it please!

TANNING RACK
The second, the tanning rack, allows you to make hides into leather. It is crafted using 6x poles and 2x any rope. This is useful in numerous crafting recipes such as the bellows or leather armor.

SPINNING WHEEL
The third, the spinning wheel, turns flax, cotton, or sisal agave leaves into yarn. It is crated with 6x poles and 2x any rope. It takes 3x of these ingredients to make 1x yarn.
I highly recommend you plant these crops first instead of gathering the entire island's worth (by breaking down the ingredient [left click on item in inventory, break into seeds/grass]).

WEAVING LOOM
The fourth, the weaving loom turns yarn into cloth. It takes 6x poles & 2x any rope to craft the weaving loom. For each cloth you must craft 3x yarn in the spinning wheel.

SIDE NOTE: Be careful when crafting sewing kits using a yarn and needle, it has durability instead of being a one off item.

SMELTING FURNACE
The fifth, the smelting furnace, is powered by coal and allows you to create ingots from ore. It requires a single piece of coal to fuel, which must be added by putting the coal or charcoal in a slot of your hot-bar. After this, a lighter must be used to start the crafting process.

Blacksmith Forge
The sixth, the blacksmith forge, requires you to have items made using these crafting elements (bellows & anvil). It requires a single piece of coal or charcoal to fuel, which must be added by putting the coal in a slot of your hot-bar. After this, a lighter must be used to start the crafting process.

Use the smelting forge to make an iron ingot. Combine it with any hammer in the TAB menu to make an anvil.
Use the tanning rack to make 3x leather. OR use the weaving loom to make 3x cloth. Craft a sewing kit using 1x yarn & 1x needle. Combine these in the TAB menu.

KILN
The seventh, the kiln, unlocks the ability to turn sand and clay into hardened items such as bricks, pots, and windows. It is crafted using 15x clay. It requires a single piece of coal or charcoal to fuel, which must be added by putting the coal in the a of your hot-bar. After this, a lighter must be used to start the crafting process.

The Phasing Item
Probable Cause: Lack of floor space??
Fix: Spacial awareness
- This happens when your item falls through the floor. I've only seen it twice and my only recommendation is to drop items where they have ample space to land.

Hidden Items
Probable Cause: Inventory glitch, possible tie to using an item like food, armor, or flint lighters.
Fix: Relog into the world
- This will fill a spot in your inventory and put the item icon below you inventory menu. You cannot use this item if it isn't in your hot-bar and you can't drag the item into your hot-bar.

Invisible Blocks
Probable Cause: As a player on a server you lose the ability to render certain items. Involves new items being placed.
Fix: Relog into the world
- A stool, a wall, or even a torch could be invisible to everyone except the host without the host knowing. As a player, inform your server owner and relog from the game. I can't say for certain if restarting the world helps.

Jack Sparrow's Escape
Probable Cause: Being a passenger of an over-equipped dinghy near sharks
Fix: Get your own ship mate
- When a player is not the helmsman of a ship sharks will target him. In the dinghy or possibly the raft, this leads to a catastrophic situation for the passengers when in shallow water (I believe). The helmsman can't see any of this. If you have a sleeping pad extended over the side, sharks will use this to launch on top of your boat. Sitting in a stool will not save you. Sleeping will get you killed, and there is no hope for survival.

Yank me by the Ankles
Probable Cause: Terrain bug
Fix: /unstuck or relog
Failsafe: If you fall through the terrain your items should return to you when you die of starvation or freezing.

Horseshoe's Stuck
Probable Cause: Terrain bug while mounted
Fix: Relog
Failsafe: If you fall through the terrain your items should return to you when you die of starvation or freezing.

Invisible Interactables
Probable Cause: ???
Fix: Relog
Is your stool you just placed gone? Is the bucket of coal you put on the ground missing? It's there! Just bugged, relog and you can fix it. So far as a server owner I've never had this happen, however my players seem to get it all the time.

Mom! I can't pack on my own!
Probable Cause: ???
Fix: ???
- You are unable to pack or unpack a sleeping pad using the radial menu. I haven't found a workaround, sorry my tired friends!

Bear Snatch
Probable Cause: Player caught in bear trap
Fix: Have the player who got snapped activate the trap and then you must snap yourself into it
Untested: If this works on animals it may be unable to be reactivated. I honestly haven't tried picking it up, I just realized this and feel like an idiot xD
- It is almost as if ownership rights are established based off of who last activated the bear trap!

I do not condone the use of any exploit, devs please fix when you have time :)

Face to Rock
Mine a ways into the earth and try to look through the wall. This can help you find caves if you are too impatient to find one yourself!

Free me Dragonborn!
Animals and threats will often find themselves stuck or unable to cope with in-game objects. You can get at least one shot off with a projectile and sometimes even use melee to beat them to death where they stand.

This should be done by carving into the side of a cliff.

I grab a pick, and keep mining until I have a little hole. I recommend having clothing for this too, as it can get cold on the inside.



Your hovel will slowly expand as you mine it. I suggest grabbing some bamboo chests or wicker baskets to store things in the beginning. Later add in your crafting tables and light sources.

If you have trouble placing items, press V to bring up the build menu. This is useful for items like wall torches and grass pads that need you to toggle your build mode to be place them.

When you get to making doors & walls, I suggest moving into the Building Basics chapter of this guide.

'Crafting in the Drunkcave' A screenie

Torch
Made using 1x stick, 1x resin, and 1x grass rope. Is a sad light source, but might get you home when you get lost coming back from the missus's

Lantern
Made using 5x raw glass, 1x iron ingot, and the use of any hammer. This is the brightest object next to a bondfire or hydrogen bomb.



TRICK: Use the 'V' key to toggle free place and scout the area ahead of you with your lantern. You can also free place your lantern and have it emit light.


Lightsaber
Psssych


Blue Quartz Crystal
Found only in caves, this crystal provides a massive amount of light for such a small object.


Campfire
Made using 2x sticks or 2x wooden pieces. Can be used for cooking! Can be made by lighting plants on fire with a torch. Won't set trees on fire! Smokey approves :D


Wall/Standing Torch
Placed using the 'V' key. Make sure it is in your wall/floor!



Brazier
Made using 5x iron ingots, 5x wooden pieces, and the use of any hammer. Longer lasting light source? Beautiful for a watchtower, permanent source of flame (does need to be re-lit)


Bonfire
Made using 8x logs and 10x wooden pieces. Is the brightest light since everest reflected a beam of UV Rays into the Andes and melted a village.

Flint Ore

Commonly found between the shoreline and the foothills of hilly areas.

Iron Ore

Uncommonly found between the foothills and the peaks of hilly areas.

Clay Ore

Uncommonly found between the shoreline and the start of any risen terrain.

Coal Ore

Uncommonly found in hilly areas.

Copper Ore

Uncommonly found in hilly areas.

Sulfur Ore

Uncommonly found in caves or near the shore of deserts.

Wolves

As a pack animal, wolves can easily outnumber you on infested islands such as mine. The easiest way to combat a wolf is to take a single wolf and kill it without alerting the others. In the cases where you get stuck up ♥♥♥♥♥ creek without a poodle, like say 15 wolves are nipping at your heels, I have one strategy for you: Rockmount.

It really oversimplifies combat, and suddenly your dream of making the 10,000 BC's largest outdoor rug, however if you don't have the gear to protect yourself it really does help.

There's a reason why the strategy is called Rockmount btw, it isn't Earthmount, Bushmount, or Friendmount; because all those things will die way faster than a rock when you swing at the enemy or allow the wolf to climb up towards you. I should say this, tall rocks are typically better than the catapult-stone looking ones.

I recommend iron armor for fighting large amounts of wolves. Wolves can take away half of your health without armor, but with iron armor they only deal a half-heart of damage.

IMPORTANT The targeting system for weapons is crud. If you swing your weapon, it will target the nearby flora (plants) first. Remember this before you get into it within the island's thickest thicket!

They spot you, and then make sure you know who the master is.

Barking a few times for posterity before attacking you. If you need to run away, when they stand up is the time to dash! Because afterward...

...they'll leave you wishing you placed bear traps:

Furiously tries to extricate himself

(Does a half heart of damage to iron armor and 1.5 hearts to your bare jewels!

Don't be afraid to high tail it like a mountain goat. Skyrim climbing seems to have transcending The Elder Scrolls thank the divines



Boars
Boars are obnoxious, they drop 2x raw meat and 1x boar hide, but they run 50% faster than you (which is accurate to real life). This means you need a crossbow because papa's axe will only make dinner even later.



Riding a horse into battle
There are some do's and don'ts here that you'll want to follow so you leave here with your cranium intact.
Do:
- Wear armor into battle even on horseback, especially against other players.
- Try out the lance, it's worth a stab
Don't:
- Prance your pony near inclines: he will throw you off like a suitcase down a mountain
- Parade your horse over rugged terrain: eventually he will show you how it feels
- Suddenly stop: the whiplash goes both ways partner! Yeehaw! is flung over the nearby canopy

You are the weapon stickhead. (does no damage but when you have no hope you might as well whack 'em senseless)

Batista Bomb
I have only heard of these found these in some British store room. They look a little something like this:


Bear Trap
Does 1.5 hearts of damage to unarmored folks. A half heart to iron armor. It will trap you every time. I recommend placing these where people will jump onto them.

Useful for making yarn. Found mostly in tropical biomes.

Flax

Useful for making yarn. Found in temperate biomes.

Birds Nest

Useful for grabbing feathers and eggs. Don't grab the nest!

Bamboo

Used for building primarily. Quite common on tropical islands. Found only in tropical biomes.

Bananas

Can be eaten raw or fed to horses. Found only in tropical biomes.

Champignon

A mushroom I know nothing about, not roastable?

Coconut Palmtree

Has gatherable seeds (green coconuts). Grab these before you cut the tree down! Found only in tropical biomes.

Corn

Edible and plantable. Yum! Suitable for feeding your horse. Does not need to be replanted after each harvest.

Philodendron

A plant that gives you a large amount of grass.

Potato

An edible (roastable) and plantable crop.

Turmeric

A spice in real life, I have no clue on in-game uses.

Melon

Edible and plantable. Found only in tropical biomes.

Pineapple

Edible and plantable. Found only in tropical biomes.

Elderberries

Edible and plantable. Sole source of berries in frigid biomes. Can be used to tame horses. Found in tropical, temperate, and frigid biomes.

Mageblossom

NOT plantable. Can be used in potion making. Found in greater quantities in tropical biomes. Can be found in temperate biomes.

Oyster

Found underwater, mostly in the shallows. Break the item down (left click in inventory) to seperate the useless shells from the cookable meat (can be consumed raw like in real life).

Sea Urchin

DOES DAMAGE. Found underwater in shallows and in weird places you'll end up stepping on. Break the item down (left click in inventory) to seperate the spines from the cookable meat.

Found in temperate biomes. Edible, plantable, and roastable. Can be fed to horses.

Raspberry Bush

Found in temperate biomes. Edible, plantable, and roastable. Can be fed to horses.

Sorrel

Used in medical applications like the sorrel poultice and sorrel bandage. I've seen it in temperate biomes so far.

Grain

Found in temperate biomes. Used in the production of flour, which can be made into bread dough for various applications.

Blooming Sumac

I have no idea what this is. I believe it can be made into red pigment.

Boletus

Confirmed dank roasting. Found in temperate biomes.

Acacia Tree

Can be found on desert/arid islands.

Boar (Brown)
Oh! Look at me, I've been impaled!
Comes in brown or black skinned variants. Only one type of hide, drops a large hamhock.

Panther (Black)
Something you don't want to wake up.
Found virtually anywhere - mainly in hills, mountains, and deep inside caves - and drops meat & pelt. A tan version can be found in the colder regions or underground.

Wolf
Can be found in cold and temperate biomes. Typically asleep like the honey badger. Will immediately wake up if you get too close! Runs 25% faster than you do.

Often has an appaling sense of style. Designers tend to shoot them on sight. Their bones will feed your family for the months to come.

Female Castaway

Never curvy and usually sporting some kind of weapon to fend off the teenagers. Their bones will feed your family for the months to come.

AUTHOR NOTE: I'll be adding onto this through the next few days as I'm still learning the game and want to get my head around what I should put in here.

So you've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ somewhere, and unlike some people, made it past ten minutes of gameplay. Awesome work! Now to move on towards the next steps.

SOMBRERO
I kid, these don't provide defenses, however they are kinda funny and teach you about withered plant gathering.


You need to find yellowed, withered plants to get hay for the recipe.


There's the difference between healthy and withered plants. Grain looks yellow most of the time so it can get a little confusing.

LEATHER ARMOR
A fuzzier, less elegant outfit for a barbaric age.

Helmet: 3x leather, the use of a sewing kit, and the use of any knife. Chest: 5x leather, the use of a sewing kit, and the use of any knife. Pants: 5x leather, the use of a sewing kit, and the use of any knife. Boots: 3x leather, the use of a sewing kit, and the use of any knife.

BARK ARMOR
When you cut down trees you will find bark. This can be repurposed into armor for your first time running towards wolves. Let them bark up the wrong tree for once, heh, get it?


MAPS
Maps are made with a piece of charcoal / the use of a pencil and a sheet of paper/leather. Regardless of your choice of materials, you will need an old fashioned press to refine the resources. This requires you to make the blacksmith forge (if you skipped ahead go back to Crafting). Once you have the press you'll need to feed it paper pulp I believe or leather to create the sheets. The map is crafted through the TAB menu after that.

DOORS (In-Depth tutorial in the Building basics chapter)
Wooden doors are made using the saw tool to make 5 beams and 6 planks out of logs. You'll need 10 nails before completing the recipe. There are a total of six types of door styles to select from. Bushi figured out how to make the iron door by using the blacksmith forge with iron ingots. Thank you Bushi!

BANDAGES
5x rags or 1x cloth can be made into a bandage to heal your injuries. This is useful since food and passive healing are both really slow! Rags can be made from tearing apart cloth items while cloth can be made on the spinning wheel & weaving loom. They heal 2 hearts of health.

SORREL PRODUCTS
First off, the poultice made with sorrel. It requires 3x sorrel leaf and the use of a stone mortar. I recommend planting a farm for this first. They heal 2 hearts of health.

Second off, the bandage made using the poultice requires a single poultice and 1x bandage. I recommend having cloth production farms for this. They heal 3 hearts of health.


ALOE VERA PRODUCTS
You can make a similar poultice and bandage to the others. I will post more info when I have the ingredients!

ARCTIC WILLOW PRODUCTS
You can make a similar poultice and bandage to the others. I will post more info when I have the ingredients!

CELADINE PRODUCTS
To start, you will need 3x celadine and the use of a stone mortar. I recommend planting a farm for this first. They heal 2 hearts of health.


Secondly, the bandage made with the poultice needs one poultice and 1x bandage. I recommend having cloth production farms for this. They heal 3 hearts of health.


Urns
Made using 2x clay. Has 3 slots of space and is medium in height while taking up minimal horizontal space.


Wicker Basket
Made using 10x stick and 1x any rope. Contains only 9 slots of space and is weak in health when put to the hammer.


Wood Chest
Made using 5x plank, 5x nails, and the use of any hammer. Contains only 9 slots of space and is horizontal in shape.


Metal Sphere and Container
Made using 5x iron ingot, 5x coal, and the use of any hammer. They are quite tall and slightly fatter than a wicker basket.
WARNING: Metal spheres only have 9 slots while containers have 12!



Stone Chest
Made using 8x stone chunks, the use of the chisel, and the use of any hammer. Has 18 storage slots!! Also it looks like a tomb so if you have any enemies store their bodies in there with 4 pounds of salt and a cupful of acid.

There are numerous inventory storage items that I have not used or unlocked, however they all act as inventory expansions by removing the need to store certain items in your inventory. They will automatically collect any compatible item into their space without the player's say in the matter (which can be good and bad). The ones I have discovered are...
Keychain
Made at the blacksmith's forge it costs only 1x iron ingot and the use of any hammer. Has 49 slots.


Herbbag (Incredibly useful)
Made using 1x cloth/leather and 1x sewing kit crafted in the TAB menu. Has 49 slots. My personal favorite as a gardener!

Doors

Enough people have asked me about doors and I've wondered for long enough myself that I decided to figure it out.

You'll need: 6x Beam, 5x Plank, 10x Nail, and 1x Any Hammer

1) The hammer is simple. A stone one will do and the recipe is given to you at the start of the game.

2) Let's use the hammer to make the nails in the blacksmith's forge.

2a) WARNING: Every time you craft a batch of nails it gives you ten. So don't queue up 10 nails because you'll have 100.

3) You'll need the saw for these next items. The crafting recipe is made in the blacksmith's forge.


4) Use the saw to craft the beams and the planks in your TAB menu
WARNING: Planks craft 5 items per craft while the beams only craft one.
Here's a picture of the beams showing the recipe. The planks are similar in nature.


End results are numerous types of doors for you to craft:

Campfire
Made using a couple of sticks or wood pieces (I recommend wood pieces). It must be lit using a lighter. It falls into ash after time, making the stove a more permanent solution to cooking.


Stove
The stove is made using any hammer and 10x iron ingots. It requires a single piece of coal to fuel, which must be added by putting the coal or charcoal in a slot of your hotbar. After this, a lighter must be used to start the crafting process.



Energy Stove
(Unknown, when I get there, I'll let you know!)


Gingerbread Man Cookie
First you'll need to find grain, buckwheat, or -placeholder until I find the third ingredient- and craft a stone mortar (2x stone). This will unlock the flour recipe which can be made using 1x grain or 3x grain seed.


Next you'll need to craft a campfire or a stove. Take your flour and craft 'Bread Dough'


Put the cooked bread dough in your inventory to unlock the recipes for both 'Bread' and 'Gingerbread Cookie'

Bread
Follow the above recipe until you get the option to craft bread and gingerbread cookies.
Bread can be halved or quartered to share among your friends!
TIP: Quartered bread may not restore your hunger as fast, but it does prevent you from eating more food than you need to.

Roasted Meat Slices
Obtain raw meat from hunting animals. Cook on a cooking spot. Use a knife to cut in to 3x pieces in the TAB menu. Decent food source, prevents wasting excess meat. Consume vigorously >:D

Roasted Vegetables
This food item can be crafted on a cooking spot using a wide array of veggies from carrots, to spinach, and more. Restores less food than meat products, but is a renewable food source.

Roasted Fruit
This can be crafted on a cooking spot using a fruity item such as prickly pear, bananas, and berries. Restores the same amount of hunger as roasted vegetables I believe.

Desert Melon
Found or planted, this melon can be split into halfs or slices for efficient consumption. Seems to restore less hunger than bread, but it still is very beneficial.

Corn
Found or planted, I can't find a recipe, but corn appears to be edible while being one of the easier crops to farm. It is a super food of Ylands since you don't need to replant seeds every time you harvest the crops.

Prickly Pear
Found or planted, prickly pear is a MEDICAL food first. Roast later as it can restore a heart and a half while giving a small amount of hunger back as well. This is a super food of the desert.

(Kidding again, this game isn't a hot mess like ARK)

Horse Taming

To tame a horse you need to look in the plains/hillside areas of your island. Horses seem to be more common in hot biomes. The principle is: gather fruit and walk right up to it.

DISCLAIMER: Horses are glitchy and tempermental, expect that for now!
Don't:
- Prance your pony near inclines: he will throw you off like a suitcase down a mountain
- Parade your horse over rugged terrain: eventually he will show you how it feels
- Suddenly stop: the whiplash goes both ways partner! Yeehaw! is flung over the nearby canopy

To feed the horse you have to put the fruit in your dynamic hot bar slot.



You will definitely need more than a couple handfuls. It is quite easy to tame a horse, while it is fairly difficult to ride it.

This is a short description of how to edit your ship in case you place the masts the wrong way.

• Go to the main menu
  
• Open the Editor
  
• Go to 'Files -> Open -> (bottom of menu: Games)'
  
• Open your save and find the ship
  
• Left click the masts and either use the rotate tool on your hot-bar OR delete it and search 'mast' in the object menu on the right
  
• Place it down with left click (be sure to center it)

You can also use this to move your helm, ship anchor level, or aft/fore mounts!

Lighting is crap guys, besides magically glowing crystal you are taking a walk in the dark. Mutated animals with rocks growing from their fur and eyes the color of uranium will guard the chambers. You can find saltpeter, sulfur, gold, and a few others things you'd normally be stripmining for.
I recommend using bonfires in the center of large caverns to brighten the entire place.


WARNING: Beware mutated animals. (They drop Ylandian dust).
