monster the core then fly east to the WD spawn & gungnir the brain the instant the WDs spawn. walk along the street south, & fire 1 monster at the new core. use the buildings just south of the park as cover as you walk west. once gungnir recharges, take out the core with monster, then fly 1 block west of the parks southwest corner, & shoot the brain. there should be a highrise with pillars behind a concrete wall on the northwest corner of this intersection. hide in the pillars until you hear the line about dragons. hit the brain with 2 monster beams & gungnir to kill it. hide in the pillars until mission clear, even if you die.
you can get unlucky with turrets/flyers or the building getting blown up, but it works for lower armor.
great guide, only reason i beat inferno at all. cheers!
what worked for me was thunderbow xd and monster-s. basic plan was the same: recruit the squads, kill ships & hectors, damage argo, kill 2 new ships, kill argo, etc. the main difference was move down onto the beach to the right instead of into the hills, just close enough to hit the ship with thunder bow. fire your monster at ships and shield hectors, empty your thunder bow while it recharges at ships, hectors, and flyers. once monster recharges, wait for thunderbow to recharge, then fire monster, etc. walk slowly from right to center along the beach. i found this killed everything MUCH faster than relying on npc damage and 2x gungnir, a few tanks even survived. if you still have NPCs once all the hectors are dead, the rest is easy.
Mirage already struggles with energy economy, I wouldn't personally double up on them. Besides, you'd need to acquire locks again every time you switch i think.
