By MissCassidy and 1 collaborators
DISCLAIMER: I have moved on from Hotline Miami 2 and it's level editor. i don't plan on updating the guide in the future.

Good day!
I assume you, the person reading this, wants to know how your date and time can show up in your levels, just like they do in the main campaign of Hotline Miami 2.

Well, this guide explains you how you can do that.

READ THIS before you use this guide!
You need Notepad++. Download it here[notepad-plus-plus.org].

Also read up on Yoss's guide for infos about how you use it to edit levels. Click here to find his guides.
How you do it!
First, you need a level. Make sure you backup that level.

How to make the date show up at all:
1. Place a filler-object in the first floor of your level and save it.
2. Look up that item's IDs in the provided ID-sheets.
3.Close the game and navigate to My Games/HotlineMiami2/Levels/single/YourLevel (the level you are looking for is the most recent changed folder. Make sure to find the right level through the screen.png)
4. Open your level0.obj
5. Find the item's ID through CTRL+F.
6. Replace the sprite ID with -1 and the Object ID with 811.
7. Save and close.

Now both your date and place will be showed! But it's locked to a specific date/time and it will crash in campaigns. But how do you fix this? Well...

1. Open your levels level.hlm file.
2. NOW. READ CAREFULLY. Changes these lines to make your date/place show up and work in campaigns:
Line 15: Your hour
Line 16: Your minutes
Line 17: Your day
Line 18: Your month (see below for the IDs)
Line 19: Your year
Line 20: Your state
Line 21: Your town
3. After you are done changing the lines save and close.
4. IMPORTANT! You have to start the level through the menu, not through the level editor or else your changes will not show up!

Month-IDs:
January-0
February-1
March-2
April-3
May-4
June-5
July-6
August-7
September-8
October-9
November-10
December-11

Known issues
-After you set your date, time and place the game will crash when you open the enemy-tab!

I did everything correctly, but my game crashes every time I try to start it to see if it works.
Maybe it's my horrible PC that makes it crash, do you have the same opinion?

If you guys are curious what Filler object is... basically its an object to use as an filler to edit in the NP++. For example place down a rat elevator chair

Its sprite id is 3634 whilst its object id is 2026.

Replace 3634 With -1
and then replace 2026 with 811
after that make sure to start the level in editor mode for it to work and then save, and go do the second part of the guide which tells you how to do dates, years and months. Maybe I should do a guide with screenshot. Oh well. Hope this helps :)

So I just "moved" the lines and everything is correct. Date and time shows up but after this strangely shows for 1 second again. It looks like little glitch.
