Banana Mania is overall a pretty true return to form for the series giving a lot of the same vibes as the originals.

Does it play exactly the same? No, but this is a remake for new hardware, in a new engine, almost 2 decades later. There was no way in hell it would perfectly emulate the originals. Instead, it offers a modernized version of the originals.

If you’re familiar with the original games, your muscle memory might screw you over for a bit while you adjust but once you’ve settled in with the new physics they’re honestly just as good as the originals, even better in some ways. Old speed run tricks may not work but in their place are some cool new ones made possible by small cycle changes and the new physics.

The party games are all pretty much identical to the originals too, except for Monkey Target (which admittedly does feel a bit worse unfortunately), so they're all pretty fun though it is unfortunate that the DLC characters are only usable in the main game.

Overall the game feels great, is hella enjoyable, and most of all, is the truest Monkey Ball experience since 2005.

Plus you can give Baby a knockoff Supreme diaper and bib. Game gets a 10/10 if just for that tbh.
