I want to love this as much as I loved the previous (Flash) games, but the length of each tower coupled with the atrociously awkward control scheme makes for an extremely frustrating experience. Please separate Pick Up and Drop, and please make Use only Use, not also Pick Up, and please stop the hands from automatically switching, ever, or Drop actually Drop and not swap with another item. The sheer amount of times I've ended a run because I accidentally picked up/used something I shouldn't have, or drank a death potion I specifically put in the other hand is unacceptable.

Horribly excessive DRM that only gets worse with each major version. There used to be an option to allow unauthenticated clients or clients with mismatching versions, but both of those are gone now.

Here is a list of all the authentication checks done (that I know of) all of which phone to Strange Loop's auth server:
When you boot up the game, before you can enter the main menu.
When you join a server.
When you host a server.
When someone joins your own dedicated server.
When someone opens the associated web server.
When someone votes in the Government update.

The game needs and should not have any of those, and even the ones that could be justified should configurable by a server host.

Horribly charming, just like the previous game. I'd rather this over FTL.

Extremely relatable, would insult gingers a BPD thot for her provably pitch black soul again.

Painfully trite, horribly tedious, and not even finished. The story-less game has its own problems, but if I were to give The Long Dark as a whole a negative review, this would be the reason why.

You know you have it bad when you're worse than World of Tanks.

No longer launches after updates, and I can't say I particularly care. Despite so many industries, the differences are entirely cosmetic and it all boils down to chasing the highest margin to "progress" through even more cosmetic industry changes. The only fun is in finding an optimal niche, but you could do that in a spreadsheet.

The "release" state of this game is an outright lie. There is nothing release-worthy about Foxhole, nor do I have any reason to believe the developers would stop active development on this game which is nowhere near finished.

In addition to that, an entire half of the game – the logistics and building side – is a ceaseless grind wholly designed around unskippable, un-queueable waiting periods that sacrifices your time to potentially lessen others' ability to grief. There are other ways to mitigate griefing, but it seems the devs have gone all-in on time-wasters. If you have any respect for yourself or your time, you won't play logi. I also don't think this will improve anytime soon – the latest "Inferno" release update was meant to overhaul parts of logistics, but only added more tedium rife with micro-management. There will never be a quality-of-life update, and the game will never be balanced against anything but wasting your time.

The other half – the actual fighting – is nice enough to sometimes pop in, but it is entirely dependent on that prior logistics and building half, so you'd be better off playing Squad.
