Early Access Review
After a year and a half of sifting through the boring, uninteresting titles on greenlight (I've viewed almost 1,000 titles), I finally stumbled across this huge surprise! The concept combined with the incredebly well done trailer and the fact it took less than 24 hours to be greenlit (not to mention, only two people were on this project) hooked me right from the start! I waited in anticipation for roughly 7 months (other people have waited for 2-ish years), so you'd expect that there would be A TON of hype, and I'm telling you right now, that all of that hype did not exceed that which this game deserved. To be completely honest, this is the most fun I've gotten out of ANY multiplayer game ever. This is an early access game, so it isn't finished (even though it's pretty much flawless in my opinion). They're going to be adding so much more content that I think may surpass the $9.99 value (which I feel is a perfect price for how much content there is currently). I urge you to consider supporting these two fine gentlemen in their quest to make the ultimate game (which may increase the chances of online multiplayer).

EDIT: Just thought I should add a few things based on what i've learned and also on the new update that came out a while ago.

I think it's imperative that everyone knows that the devs are actively interacting with the community on a weekly basis and sometimes more often than that. They are two very well mannered gentlemen that love to hear your ideas and definitely take every one of them into consideration. They actively post updates on development weekly and, like I said before, sometimes more often than that. There is promise of a trove of content that I'm pretty confident will come!

This update that came out in September practically doubled the content and they almost nailed the ballance on some of the earlier monsters from the first early access build. Just a few ballance issues with a few monsters from this new update need to be worked out, but that's hardly a concern of mine with devs as dilegent as these.

I should also note that the community that has been formed around this game is quite lovely and the people in it are very creative! Right now (Nov-december 2014) there's tons of excitement surrounding the release of a new update coming towards the end of December that includes a brand new boss and some other valuable content and the devs have maintained 100% transparency as far as their progress on the implimentation and testing of said boss and content. (aside from surprises that they wish to keep a secret). So you can just head on over to the forums and check that out. Drop in some suggestions if you'd like! (aside from Online Multiplayer, the devs have heard that over and over and over again) We'd love to have you!

EDIT EDIT: A lot has happened! A new boss has been added, new gods, more secrets, a new environment, and a wealth of monsters. They've added game changing mechanics and features that really change up where the game goes and can really shift the outcome of a match. They revamped the color pallet so it looks really nice and pretty now. Barney and Dave have really pulled it out in these last few months and have done nothing but improve the game and its value!

EDIT: Been a while. We've had quite a few updates since I last updated this review. Added a few monsters, traps, features, etc... I'd say my opinion hasn't changed at all. If it has, it's more positive than before. :)

This game here... Is more than just a game. It's an emotional journey through the lives of Booker DeWitt and a lovely woman named Elizabeth. Never have I been more attached to any characters than the ones is this game. And the expansions only add even more... They are the real link between this game and the first. I highly suggest that you get them. Get the "game" and discover what I truly mean...

Pros:
-Looks amazing, Love the new aperture!
-The concept. Way cool! It was actaully one of the concepts they were going to use for Portal 2, but they decided not to use it.
-you can see your feet! It's about time!
-The potential it has.
Cons:
-Right now, it's really easy to cheat through the puzzles.
-Doesn't have a very formal way of showing you how to use your time-machine tablet.

Don't get me wrong, I really want to like this game, but the state it's in now, I just can't. :/ I don't know if they're going to update this or do drastic changes, so I don't know if I'll be able to ever recommend this to anyone. :/

Okay, okay. The reason I do not recommend this is because, well, it's almost nothing like the first game. A huge dissapointment to me. So, if you like the way they made the first game, DO NOT buy this. If you didn't care for the first one. This is a completely different kind of game, so you could try it. It's a decent game. If it didn't have "Alan Wake" in the title, I could have probably tollerated it because, like I said before, It's practically nothing like the original. More weapons, more enemies and the campaign is the same thing 3 times over. Not too apealing to me. If you love monotony, I highly recommend this game to you.

P.S. I have more than "0 hours" steam acts weird with Alan wake games on my computer.

I've beaten the game twice, but my hours say otherwise, because steam is wierd. Anyway! Litteraly in the top 10 of my all time favorite games with linear gameplay. This game has such an awesome story and I could play it over and over again! The combat is pretty fun. Oh, and I recommend that you also buy the bonus chapters. Because when you finish the Main game, you'll want more. But yeah, get this, have fun! :D

Man... so much to say! But with me being just being someone who plays games, I can't describe how much I like this game like those who write reviews A LOT and use fancy words and such. This game is quite addicting! I played Terraria before this and I thought it was pretty freaking awesome. But then I saw this right when it released. I personally find it much more enjoyable than Terraria. Not really close to being complete yet, but what we have now is very fun! Can't wait until they add all of the amazing things like space battles and some real story!

Wow... just wow. This is one of my all time favorite games! The story is absolutely amazing, there are even little history lessons with the artifacts you can find around the island! TONS of back story in the journals you find! The gameplay! OH, the gameplay, so awesome! Combat is so much fun! This game is soooo awesome! I recommend it to anyone that likes action shooters! :D

I have to admit... At first I was a little disappointed. But once you get the upgrades for your crew and a HUGE ship, it's hackin' awesome. It is in Alpha, so it could only get better!
