ive been in a love-hate relationship with quasimorph since impulse purchasing it. i dont regret spending my money on it but there’s definitely some things that i would need to see changed before hard recommending it to others;

the gameplay loop is addicting but progression feels super slow due to the grind for ship and gear upgrade materials combined with small inventory and item stack sizes (both can be fixed with mods).

map sizes are huge for no apparent reason other than forcing you to wander around as the quasimorph meter ticks up, which wouldn’t be terrible if there were in game methods (other than the unlockable ship scanner) to acquire info regarding elevators and other interactables

also, maps are completely procedurally generated which leads to some funky levels with multiple corridors that lead to dead ends and nonsensical room/objective placement

the combat is satisfying but also infuriating, as you can’t target enemy limbs despite damage being limb based, leaving you at the mercy of rngesus to determine whether you’re going to decapitate someone or scratch their shins. a system like VATS would greatly benefit the combat

the damage system seems to work differently for players and enemies. when your legs are severed you cant move at all without them but the same doesnt apply to enemies which can be very frustrating

also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ please nerf doors or something because the amount of runs ended by an undetectable enemy waiting with a flamethrower in an otherwise empty room just removes all enjoyment from the play session
