It checked all the boxes I wanted... but the end product was just underwhelming.
I gave it a chance, but the gameplay felt like a slog getting through.
You may need more patience than me to enjoy it.

This is why I play Indie games. Dance of Cards has class and charm oozing from all sides. There is attention to detail that would have been easily ignored if done by developers with less passion.
The music and story are good enough to keep you playing even if you're not a poker fan.
I'd recommend this to anyone that wants a relaxing and engaging game to play, especially on a comfy couch.

Definitely scratched my itch of auto battlers.
It's easy to pick up, doesn't stray to far from the formula, and it keeps the team comp nice and tight.
My only gripe is how they did the class system, it seems that adding the classes as a drop only delays the build you want to create, then again I'm no expert.

A good auto battler that gives you a lot of freedom in exploration.
I personally enjoyed the grind and discovery.
It's not for everyone, and the pathfinding can be questionable, but I would easily recommend this to fans of the genre.

but it's a step in the right direction, expect this genre to blow up and evolve like the recent trend of "passive" games

A lot of games use the term "choices matter" loosely, but this game is actually BUILT on it.
The decisions you make throughout the game feels impactful and build upon the story's world. Your relationships carry from chapter to chapter triggering different events based on decisions you might have made on a whim.
The storytelling is gripping and original. Something I find rare in most modern gaming.
This game is more than a visual novel. I feel the developers successfully bridged the gap between gaming and storytelling to create something truly original.

Amazing rouge adventure experience!
You get the thrill of "what's around the corner" with the tactical decisions of "oooh that worked!".
There's plenty to chose from, each run is a challenge and different experience.
