It's a fantastic game that plays remarkably well. It ran great on my PC boxed on one monitor (wish more games ran this well), the strategies and combinations changed heartily each run, and your choices were always impactful. Some levels can be brutal with the RNG placement, but there's a generous quill (extra lives) system and the AI is suppose to try and kill your tiny, so get good.

All the good gameplay aside, the setting is remarkable. The story of battling calligraphers and the visual representation of them is awesome. HOWEVER the storyline is .... really stupid. Not stupid in a good way, just nonsensical to the point where it brings you out of the setting. There are also way to many different race/classes that it felt overwhelming as they kept getting introduced. I get desire for a diverse unit pool, but there's just so many it makes it hard to synergize.

Still, it's a really great game. Perfect for a couch co-op setting. I'd more than double my playtime if I had friends, to play with.

A neat quick game about loading up 2 barrels at a time!
Your shot can spread for a sure hit, or focus on a critical one.
That being said, there's no tutorial so I was pretty lost. No idea how the dice mechanic contributed to the game, but was still able to deduce most of the shotshell's effects.
It's good for a quick play

It's an interesting experience, which you can expect from this crew.
However I didn't find the game as enjoyable as their other title, Life Gallery

No one denies that the game is beautiful, it really is.
But it is also very boring and frustrating.
The combat is sluggish and I found myself rarely using a special ability over auto attacks.
The resource management structure of your mana/spirit/HP is frustrating. The only way to restore HP or spirit is by resting, and you can only pick one OR the other... meaning if one of your dudes is almost dead and the rest are full HP, you either run the rest of the battles with the low HP guy in the back doing nothing, or you full heal him and forgo restoring the spirit resource which is the main way to cast your alternate non-auto attack abilities. Same goes for spirit, if you manage to get an ability that isn't worthless, you're penalized for using it because spirit generally doesn't regen and is only gained from resting.
I reached the 5th stage and suicided my last remaining character (I reached a level where the mobs would infinitely respawn but they couldn't damage my tank) in hopes that there were new character creation options upon a fresh playthrough. However, I didn't see any indication that told me this next run would be any less slow and boring as the last.
The event RNG was frustrating, items were either useless or obvious upgrades, and when a party member dies they're gone.... might as well restart at that point.
I didn't have fun playing this and it made me sad they didn't playtest this game more before release. It could have at least been decent.

A competent byte-size TD that's quick and easy.
I'd recommend playing it on the phone though, it was obviously made for it.

One of the more theatrical walking simulators I've played, and the length is at a good spot.

The graphics, animation, and atmosphere really stand out in this, it's definitely a beautiful game.
Unfortunately, it lacks in just about everything else. Balance, bugs, and carddepth take a back seat to the appearance.
That being said, it's still worth checking out for any cardgame connoisseur, I've never seen anything like it.

The pixel graphics and level presentation are fantastic.
However I found the puzzle mechanics a bit underwhelming.
Still a good buy for the price.

It's a pretty good cardgame. It looked like it would play well on the phone, but you have to have a netflix account to play (for free).
The move mechanic and layout are nice, if a bit underused. What you see is what you get basically. Nothing really bad about the game, but it didn't scratch my itch for deckbuilding depth.

It's definitely a neat concept, I just wish it were more realized.
The pixel art is great, and the game play is fluid. However there isn't much more to it that I can see. I would certainly have paid more if the game were bigger, but as it is it's worth a try for those interested in defense games.
