Wow, expected a mediocre 2d soulslike but got a really high quality soulsvania!

This game takes the best from souls games and puts it into 2d world. I would even say Mandragora does some things better than souls series.

Combat feels nice and there are quite a few builds to experiment with. Bosses have interesting abilities and there is a variety of engaging and challenging fights. Doing those with different builds is very fun! There is a vast variety in world design as well, it feels interesting and rewarding to explore every corner of each level and discover all the secrets.

Story is nice and not loaded with a ton of dialogues, there is always an option to be edgy and cut to the chase in 1 click.

The sense of discovery, secrets, exploration, shortcuts, challenge, crafting, unlocking - these are all there and at exactly perfect amount. Nothing feels tedious, repetetive or overwhelming. It seems like developers calculated very precisely how much of all of that is enough to keep the player engaged and not get bored.

Negatives:
1. The balancing with some builds/bosses is kinda off, hope its fixed in future patches.
2. Crafting and amount of resources and exp required for artisans is a bit bloated.

overall HUGE recommend 👌👌I am gonna jump into my second playthrough right away.

Have mixed feelings, 8 out of 10

Its a very good game, basically more of KCD1 but everything is more polished. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and its very rare to see such games in modern age.

The only downside is that the second part of the game is a bit boring, you already feel like a god and there is nothing to look forward to, except quests. So the game turns into a running and talking for 80 more hours. Wish there was more interesting gameplay included in that.

Brings out nostalgia for good games, more specifically stuff like gothic and skyrim. It is atmospheric, offers a lot to discover and its all exciting. Very well done game, def recommend

Very well made and def recommended. One-of-a-kind a game and I felt the love the developers put in the game.
Cute story, diverse gameplay, not grindy, fun, good visuals.
