Does this game have a clearly derived gameplay style? Art style? Does it completely reinvent the wheel in the best possible way? Nope, not at all.

Neither does a fat, juicy bacon cheeseburger and a pint of beer.

Both the game and the meal may not be the most "original" thing you've ever had, but I'll be damned if they both don't take a lot of what you love and mash them together in one hell of a package. Palworld activates neurons and the creators treat the playerbase right, and while that might not seem like ALL that, I guess it's more of an indictment of the industry at large that something that really doesn't seem like it SHOULD be one of the best games of the year, IS one of the best games of the year simply because the developers give the players what they want and don't treat the players like children and/or money cows.

It doesn't have to try and be the next cutting-edge, complex, ground-breaking thing in order to make its customers happy. It just has to be a damn good "cheeseburger" - and it has that in spades.

I hate this game. 10/10

I can't even start the game because it says I have a "driver problem" when I updated my drivers to the latest version right before starting lmfao. Broke game is broke.
