Wayyyyy too short

This is a very short VN with some choices. As far as I'm aware, there are 3 different endings. It took me a little over 20 minutes to get all of them. There just is way too little content for this to be a paid game. The entire story was over even before I managed to get into it, and the lack of character development failed to make the story interesting enough. No cards or achievements either.

实在太短了

20多分钟就拿到所有的结局。故事太简单也不怎么有趣,内容太少,缺乏深度。这游戏应该免费才对。也没有卡或成就。

Has a huge game-breaking bug that ruins the very puzzle you're supposed to solve

This is a short 10-minute point-'n'-click adventure game with a few locations. Your task is to explore, identify a problem that needs to be solved, then solve it.

Unfortunately, there is a gaping, glaring bug that spoils the entire game.

Read on below if you're ok with spoilers:

You're supposed to get the statue past Barsnick in order to bring it back to the witch.

The "correct" solution the game wants you to do, is to enter an empty room next to where the Barrel guy is, remove a brick from the wall, and push the statue through it. You're then supposed to go to the tavern and pick up the statue. Then you can bring it back to the witch and the game will end.

However, you don't even need to do that!!! As long as you enter the empty room then exit it (without removing the brick as I mention above), then go back the way you came from (i.e. past Barsnick who's now talking to Marv), the game will allow you to walk past Barsnick without any incident, even with the statue still in your arms!

That's what I actually did. So I made it back to the witch with the statue, but the game would not allow me to give the statue to her, simply because that's not supposed to happen - i.e. you MUST solve the problem via the method I stated earlier, or else the game will not end.

It's very clear that this is a huge programming oversight
Your character shouldn't be allowed to leave the scene with the statue unless he's solved the problem of how to get past Barsnick, but yet the game allows you to do so, spoiling the entire puzzle.

Also has various other missteps

Here are some other sins this game commits that are huge adventure game no-nos:

- If you miss or forget the instructions on what to do next, talking to that same character again will not make them tell you the instructions again, so too bad!
- When your character says something, the dialogue balloon that appears covers the area behind it (so you can't see/click that area), and there's no way to make that balloon disappear unless you click somewhere for your character to walk to.

A failed effort

This could've been a fun experience - the graphics and animation are at least decent and the black-&-white feel works, but I can't get over the fact that such a gargantuan programming oversight was made (that contributes to the bug I mention in the spoiler above), and that simple, basic, commonsensical stuff like having an option to make dialogue boxes disappear so they stop blocking areas of the scene, and allowing conversations to replay in case you miss/forget what to do next, were not taken into consideration in the making of this game.

OK for a few hours of stress-free, mindless gaming

Essentially a match-3 game, but with 2 other puzzle types thrown in every 5 levels or so. You can choose to play each level with a timer or without. Choosing the fastest timer gives you the most stars, and choosing to play without the timer gives you none.

Most of the traditional match-3 levels can be completed with ease on the "normal" timer mode, except for 1, which required a bit of advance planning and therefore more time to calculate your moves. It was possible to get stuck on that particular level for infinity (I did) if you did not plan your moves in advance. Not sure if this was what the developers intended, but luckily there is a "restart" option for each level.

As you progress through the levels, the story also advances. You have been sent to collect Aztec artifacts from the jungle and with every artifact acquired, the game tells you something about them. The dialogue was well-written and the info about the artifacts seemed genuine. Each artifact is showcased in your tent and you can view it again.

My only gripe is that the timed match-3 board and row slider puzzle are almost impossible to complete with the timer on "normal" mode. With the row slider puzzle, you have to wait for the tray to move to where you want it to go (you can't control it), and that takes time, so it's unfair to the player.

There are a total of 105 levels if I remember correctly. It took me 3+ hours to get through the entire game.

Verdict: 3.5/5 - Get when priced at $1 or below.

Funny and entertaining

20+ episodes of short movies that tell the entire KOF story from start to end, in gorgeously rendered CGI, voiced in Japanese with English subs. You'll appreciate this much more if you're a KOF fan and know a bit about the characters already, but even if you don't this might be an amusing introduction.

Kyo Kusanagi and Terry Bogard are the main stars, but most of the other favourites are there too (except Iori, who only briefly appears in a blink-&-you'll-miss-it moment at the end). Humour is present throughout, with some seriously LOL moments. Fans of the fighting moves (like me) will also appreciate seeing them executed in smooth 3D animation. (Although they still look silly as hell, especially Benimaru's twirling legs and flying drill, which are comical enough in the actual game. XD)

Note: One episode (can't remember which) has missing/cut off subs. It doesn't matter very much though, as the dialogue in that episode isn't very important and you can probably figure out what they're saying anyway.

小丑动画片,我笑得半死,高度推荐!

Really really bad

Horrible English aside, this VN is a confusing, fractured mess of plot ideas that seems to just have been cut and pasted together with no proper progression and narration. It's probably the worst or one of the worst VNs I've come across ever.

E.g.
- From one scene you suddenly find yourself in another scene with no explanation at all.
- The game makes it seem like your character is the one narrating events to you, but yet in some of the dialogue, there's suddenly a narrator. And the narrator's text appears together with the same text that has your character's name on top of it.
- Plot points are brought up but never again mentioned (even after having played through all the endings).
- Nothing is explained. (Not that one would really care anyway, given how broken the "story" is.)

The biggest joke is the ending, because you have no idea what the hell happened, and suddenly characters who were dead are alive again, and you are walking to school with one of the victims as if nothing ever happened, so you think maybe this was all a nightmare, but then the very next sentence tells you the villain has been caught and will be punished. A big huge W. T. F.

The only saving grace is the graphics, which are very good. (At least, the artist can draw mangled, bloody human body parts quite well.) Whoever did the art now just needs to find a better writer to work for.

Packs quite a punch for its small size

A short visual novel with minute adventure game puzzle-solving elements contained within. There are 2 endings. Despite the cartoony graphics, the story is quite dark and for the most part effective. Game progression was done well. The "horror" element is underplayed by the cuteness of the graphics - which may or may not have been a good thing...

Note: Some players have suggested that this game is a rip-off of Dreaming Mary, another indie game that was released in 2014. Judge for yourself by watching the Dreaming Mary playthrough here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R82SxIGHcs

Unexpected fun & humour in a small, unusual package of a game

This was certainly something I'd never encountered before.

You play a documentary filmmaker who's gone to a man's home to interview him. Said man has been grounded in his bedroom by his mother for the past 30+ years. Your job is to choose 3 items from his room to feature in your documentary, that will show "how to cope with boredom and loneliness", hence the game's title. You "win" the game by choosing the best items to feature, which will give you the best viewer ratings.

The game tries to clue you in on which items to choose by showing you how the man reacts (in the form of a short cutscene) when you ask him about each item. The cutscenes are very well done - often amusing and humorous and in dry sort of way.

If you'd like to play something quirky and entertaining, this game is it.

Cute & Amusing
This plays sort of like a cross between a visual novel and point-&-click adventure game, where you make choices and collect/use items to proceed. A few puzzles were actually quite fun and required a bit of thought. If you enjoy cutesy graphics and silly humour, spare a few moments to check this out. There's a bug (1 item was not obtainable despite the correct steps having been done) but the game can still be completed.
